Knicks positioned for MAJOR move...

The New York Knicks are positioned for a major move that fans have been waiting for, for years now.
As where the Knicks are, Leon Rose is ready to strike to bring back the greatest one-year wonder in Knicks history,
who has become not only a fan favorite, but a close friend of many, many players on this team right now.
And the Knicks, they're trying to repeat as NBA Finals champions, and this move only helps them so much.
Guys, and we're gonna jump in to how this is once again possible, because guys,
there's been a lot of talk about him for a while, you see him on the thumbnail, you see him in the intro video,
you know it's D'Andre DiVincenzo, just like I know that 66% of you guys are not yet subscribed.
And, if you do subscribe to the channel, you're gonna get free Knicks videos every single day,
breaking down all the latest news and reports on the Knicks on a daily basis.
In eight minutes, you're gonna know a lot more about the Knicks than you did before you clicked on this video.
So diving into it, as we know, D'Andre DiVincenzo's been a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves for the last two seasons.
The Knicks did have to trade DiVincenzo away in a deal that did bring them Carl Anthony Towns.
A trade that was totally a win on New York's part, and a trade that New York completely and utterly won.
It took the Knicks two years with Cat to go further than they ever have in this entire millennium,
and that included winning an NBA championship.
So, where the Knicks stand right now, losing Dante Hurt, but it was the right move.
But now they have a chance to put him back where he belongs, in the orange and blue.
He's never looked better in a jersey, and right now, where Dante is,
the Knicks have an opportunity to get him back.
Fritz Alcindor Jr. mentioned on Twitter that with the Minnesota Timberwolves signing Jonathan Kaminga,
they have created a small problem.
They're facing a second apron crisis.
They are going to most likely explore trading Josh Green or Dante DiVincenzo.
Yes, I know there was a trade. I'm gonna talk about it.
To make sure they stay under the second apron, and one option available until the weekend
is waiving and stretching a player.
Since DiVincenzo is injured, he'd be more likely the choice to be waived in such a scenario.
Where Dante is currently in his rehab, well, Chris Finch said on a Prime broadcast
that it's still too early to tell when DiVo will return.
But, he also mentions that early signs have been great, and that DiVo is in high spirits.
On top of that, Alcindor Jr. mentioned that even though injured,
even though injured, there would be a market for him, at least on a minimum deal.
Would you want Leon Rose to consider taking a flyer on the former Nova Knick if he becomes a free agent?
There may be a few paths to make it happen.
The Knicks have the best cap guy in the league in Brock Aller.
If so, Dante could have one last run with the contending Knicks as a rehab stint.
Any team considering such a move would be accepting that he'd miss a significant portion of the 26-27 season.
Obviously, that makes it a risk, especially for a Knicks team that is in desperate need of a big man.
But guys, here's where we do have to talk about it.
The Timberwolves did make a move.
They traded away Josh Green.
They did it in a deal where they sent him to Utah, and in exchange got Jalen Williams' brother Cody Williams
in the deal who Minnesota intends on keeping.
The thing is, they still have 16 players in their roster, so you're saying there's a chance.
And basically, when we look at Dante, when we look at where he's at, there's nowhere better that he'd rather be than New York.
He'd get to be with his friends on a team that has a very good chance of going back-to-back, winning another NBA championship.
He'd be working with one of, if not the best, medical staff in basketball.
And remember, Casey Smith has completely reinvigorated this team.
They did a great job managing Mitchell Robinson, who got a nice payday and stayed healthy throughout the season.
So, overall, the Knicks are a good landing spot for a guy like Dee Vincenzo.
He's got a real opportunity to continue growing as a player and also getting back on the court.
So, by March, by April, he could come into the Knicks and give them 10, 15, 20 minutes a night, depending on how he comes back.
And yeah, the Knicks do have a lot of wings and a lot of guards.
But still, Devo would get to work out with a great medical staff and also be in a place where he knows how to play.
And, regardless, is a huge fan favorite.
Now, there's a lot to like about the idea of it.
Remember, Dee Vincenzo was still a very good player.
I mean, he was top five in catch-and-shoot three-point shooting talent this year.
He was fourth.
Ahead of him was Julian Champagny, Rui Hashimura, and Derek White.
So, overall, the Knicks would get their shooter back.
And, obviously, look, I know.
They have Landry Schammett.
They don't need Dee Vincenzo anymore.
But it doesn't hurt to add the depth.
And I know there's a big-man situation.
We are going to talk about that a little bit.
We've talked about Bigs so much and about how the Knicks are going to get their big-man.
So, I do just want to say, stay tuned for that.
It is going to happen later on in this video.
Because I talk about it non-stop, I am holding off until kind of the end of the video.
But, in addition to adding Jonathan Kaminga at $6 million next season,
the Wolves will need to clear enough space to add a veteran minimum signing at $2.5 million.
That's to get them back to 14 players.
That means that at least $4.1 million has to go and fit under the second apron hard cap.
Overall, it puts the Knicks in good position to go out there and to bring Dee Vincenzo back onto the team.
Bring him into a situation that he knows how to play in.
And yeah, it's a different coach.
But still, he'll know how to play with the guys.
He'll know how to play with the main guys.
He played with OG.
He played with McHale in college.
He's played with Jalen Brunson on multiple teams.
Overall, I think he'll be doing just fine.
Towns is a great big-man for Dante because the five outs will be beautiful throughout the team.
And frankly, with Dante, when it comes to his ability to play, he's still great.
He played in all 82 games this past season.
Put up 12 points, four rebounds, four assists.
Still putting up the Dante Dee Vincenzo numbers that we know and love.
Shooting 38% from three on a team where there's a lot less shooters.
In New York, he would be in a better position to shoot over 40% from three once again.
Why?
Because there's a lot of good shooters on that team.
Between Brunson, between OG, between McHale, between Josh Hart, who led the team in three-point percentage.
Who also didn't even mention the fact that Divos also played with Josh Hart on multiple teams.
Obviously, the Knicks being one of the two.
Like with JB, with Villanova.
The Nova Knicks are a real thing.
And overall, at the same time, you do have a guy like Landry Chavitt who could still play his own role
and still be this team's sixth man.
But Devo can come in.
And honestly, guys, this is where we do talk about Dee Vincenzo.
Once upon a time, the Knicks brought Dee Vincenzo in to be a replacement for someone.
That someone was Emmanuel Quickly.
Devo was looked at as the guy who was going to be the next sixth man of the team.
So he could do a little bit of ball handling and some scoring.
But frankly, with Quentin Grimes struggling and Dee Vincenzo playing out of his mind,
the Knicks did go ahead and they started Dee Vincenzo for the majority of the season.
And it worked out great.
But at the same point, we do have to understand another side of this.
He would be replacing someone again.
That someone is Deuce McBride.
Because then McBride becomes very tradable.
Because you could put Devo in Deuce's position.
And you could use Deuce as trade bait to send him out for a center.
Which we know the Knicks have already begun understanding that that's one of the most likely outcomes here.
Because look, yeah, you could try to trade Pacom Dottie all you want.
You could trade Tyler Kolick, who has value.
And you could get a big man that way.
But Deuce is the most valuable one.
The Knicks want a legit, good, young, shot-blocking big man.
Which they do.
Trading Deuce is the way to do it, unfortunately.
It sucks. I love Deuce.
He's one of my favorite players on the team.
He's the longest-tenured Knick.
I do not want Deuce to go.
But I do understand where things are at with the Knicks right now.
And why taking Deuce on...
Also, Deuce is the longest-tenured Knick by like a week.
Because JB signed right after that.
But not the point.
He still is the longest-tenured Knick.
And Deuce, overall, would give the Knicks really what they...
Was he drafted the year before?
Someone correct me.
Nah, nah.
It's probably a couple days.
He never missed the playoffs.
Deuce never missed the playoffs.
Because the only year they missed the playoffs was 2022.
And that was the game that both IQ and Obi Toppin went nuclear.
And they were rookies.
Or they were second-year players.
Because they were rookies when we were in the playoffs with Julius.
Yeah.
Alright.
Sorry.
I had to make sure I was right.
And not just be becoming a Knicks casual overnight or something.
But guys, overall, I do like the situation for getting Dante.
It gives you more room to make a trade for a center as well.
You get some money off the books.
Deuce would probably cost a tiny bit more than a center.
Giving the Knicks enough money to sign Dante DiVincenzo.
Divo gets to rehab here.
Gets to come back.
Gets to play a role.
The Knicks are still good.
They now have another center.
And also, at the same time,
they've got a great chance to win a second straight NBA Finals championship.
Which is unbelievable to say.
