On-site visuals out came from Nepal’s flood-struck site as India and China join hands with Nepal for rescue. Hundreds of people believed to be stuck inside blocked hydropower project tunnels in the aftermath of flash flood. Assisted by Indian & Chinese experts, Nepal’s rescue teams stepped up efforts on August 31 to evacuate those trapped. Search team entered nearly 250-metre-long tunnel, reached about 225 metres inside but found no casualties or survivors: Nepali Army. Nepali officials said: Focus on reaching 933 workers believed to be trapped at 11 hydropower projects, including tunnels. Two of the hardest-hit districts by the Himalayan flood, Rasuwa & Nuwakot are home to these hydropower plants.
