Today we are going over the best daily trainers for fall 2026.
I like doing these market roundups every so often to give you a sampling of the best shoes
out there.
Now, when I do these, I also like to define what is this category?
What is a daily trainer?
And it seems every single time we do one of these, the definition evolves because new
shoes are coming to market, our perception of what we want to use for our everyday mile
shifts.
But for the purposes of today's video, I'm defining a daily trainer as that shoe, which
is comfortable for going my typical everyday distance or your typical everyday distance,
which for me is 10 miles or about 70 to 80 minutes and also has enough pep and pop to
feel good when I am picking up the pace.
Now I did focus this on shoes that are not super trainers, are not going to be 200 plus
dollars except for one exception that I'm holding here that you can probably see.
Let's get that thing out of here, no spoilers.
For the most part though, these are on the more affordable end of the market.
So with that, let us start not with these, but I'm going to go slowest to fastest.
So most relaxed to fastest daily trainer.
So first up on our list of best daily trainers, this is the Mount to Coast C1.
Yes, I did want to include something that is more stable, more supportive and a better
option for people who have wide feet or who just need a bigger chunkier shoe to help with
injury prevention.
So with this guy, you get dual foam top layer of this circle cell foam, which is nice and
smooth, gives you some good bounce on the front and then you get a very firm and supportive
layer on the bottom here.
You also have this tuned fit upper, which allows you to get a nice wide fit up here
and it's going to be very comfortable for anybody who either has a wide foot, high volume
foot or just likes a little bit more space in their toe box.
Now the downside of this shoe, it's not the softest, it's not the fastest.
So do not get this expecting it to be a super trainer.
No, this is a really nice daily trainer and everyday option for somebody who either wants
an injury prevention shoe or a stable supportive shoe that doesn't feel super boring.
I was leaning on this very heavily when I was having some foot pain earlier this summer
and it performed excellently, reminded me a lot of the protection of the OG MagMax.
Not as bouncy, not as soft and crazy, but still very comfortable.
So if you're looking for a comfort oriented shoe to go the distance, check out the Mount
to Coast C1.
Now next up here, we have our traditional pick.
This is the Saucony Triumph 24.
In this model, they updated the foam.
They are now using ATPU and it's called Incredilux.
So you get a nice soft and bouncy midsole here with that traditional durability oriented
platform.
So if you want one shoe, a very versatile shoe for your everyday miles, for your workouts,
for your long runs, if you want one single shoe to do everything for half marathon training
and marathon training, the Saucony Triumph 24 is going to be your best bet.
Now, downsides to this guy, for me, it's really just the looks and the general feel of it.
Other people on the SUPWELL team, other testers like this way more than I did.
There's something about it that I cannot get past, which is why I don't reach for it.
I just really do not like the way this thing looks.
It doesn't feel that refined on foot, but the midsole is undeniably good.
I liken this to a local ice cream shop we have here where I'm never that excited to
go to it, but every time we're there and we're eating it, I say, man, this is pretty dang
good.
I'm not going to put them on blast and name their name.
If you listened to the podcast a few months ago, you might know what I'm referencing,
but this is that type of shoe where you might not be that excited about it, but once you
lace it up, you're going to be pretty dang happy because it's just a great overall running
shoe.
All right, next on the list here, moving up a little bit more exciting, little speedier.
We have the A6 Super Blast 3.
This is one of my favorite overall releases of the year.
So similar to the Mount to Coast C1, you get that dual foam construction, so FF Leap on
the top, FF Blast Plus on the bottom.
So very stable, but also very soft and bouncy.
Different from the Mount to Coast C1, you are going to sink down into this thing a lot,
which I absolutely love.
So if I could only choose one of these shoes for my recovery miles, for my relaxed aerobic
miles, it would be this guy.
This is just rocketed up my list of personal all-time favorites.
It's such a special feeling to have FF Leap, which is this ATPU super fast race foam, super
light compound in a shoe like this that feels good for going 830, that feels good when my
legs are absolutely trashed.
And I actually took this shoe out for my double today.
I'm gunning for another high mileage week this week, trying to work my way back up as
we get closer to fall marathon season.
And this thing is just still fantastic.
I've tested a bunch of other releases this year, dozens and dozens of shoes, but this
one still has one of those top spots as that protective aerobic cruiser with the pep and
pop.
And you can really dial up the pace when you want to in this thing.
It does have a massive platform.
It's very wide, very stable, but because it has that real deal FF Leap race foam, you
can hammer some pace, especially marathon pace, steadier efforts and strides.
Before I ran my SUB 230 Marathon Bayshore, I took this thing out the day before and I
was hammering 415 pace, 410 pace, 420 pace strides in this thing.
Just absolutely moving.
So really can do a wide range of types of runs.
Specialized for me though, in that core everyday mile zone, 10 mile runs, 12 mile runs, just
absolutely fantastic.
All right, next on the list here, we have another one of my all time favorites and it's
going smack dab in the middle of the list.
This would be my number one recommendation for most people.
If you want a daily trainer, you probably know what it's going to be.
Nike Vomero Plus.
It delivers similar to USPS.
It delivers, you cannot go wrong with the Vomero Plus.
They have the ZoomX in here that they say is tuned for maximum cushioning versus ZoomX
being tuned for speed.
It's protective.
It's bouncy Goldilocks zone.
So mount to coast C1, potentially too firm for some people, Super Blast 3, potentially
too soft for some people, Nike Vomero Plus, just right for most people.
It's a fat part of the bell curve type of shoe.
Also it breaks in and gets a lot smoother and a lot more comfortable.
Also weirdly, the stability gets better over time once it molds to your foot.
So this is a shoe that for me, it took a couple of runs, it actually took probably a hundred
miles for me to really come around on it.
But once I did, I just, it's addictive and it has the pop off the forefoot, it has the
cushion in the heel.
I've done long runs in it.
I've done short runs in it.
I can hammer 610 pace.
I can even hammer some sub six miles when I want to, but then it's all about the comfort.
I also think this has one of the most comfortable uppers on the entire list here, probably the
most comfortable upper because unlike the Super Blast, they didn't go for all out weight
savings.
The Super Blast is a very light shoe, so you see it as this thing, thin almost race-like
tongue here.
Vomero Plus, they put a thick plush tongue, lots of padding on it.
So if you want that comfort cruiser that still has the pop, Vomero Plus, best all around
shoe on this list.
All right, moving up.
We are going for another one.
I mean, it's just banger on banger on banger.
We're going for another one of my favorites, Dynafish Xiao Nian, shoe so good that we import
it to the US.
Now, this is more of a super trainer.
It does have the 100% race foam, but similar to the Super Blast, it's very versatile and
you could use it for a bunch of different types of runs.
I actually think the best use case for the Dynafish is that steady long run.
So if you're looking for a daily trainer for building mileage and for the long run, this
is going to be a great pick.
Also 130 bucks, you can't go wrong with a shoe at that price point.
Now, if you look at this one, this is my first pair.
You can see it's pretty dirty.
It's all patinaed up.
I have about 150 to 170 miles on this thing and it's held up really well.
Durability is good.
You have the CPU outsole here.
You have the TPEE foam, which is pretty similar in feel to that old school Adidas Light Strike
Pro.
Overall, banger.
I mean, 200 grams for a daily trainer, one of the lightest training shoes out there.
I actually think this is the lightest training shoe out there and then the Light Spray Hyper
is the second lightest training shoe out there, but great bang for your buck and a great shoe
for marathon training if you want something that's going to be excellent for the long
run.
All right, moving up.
Last two shoes on the list here.
Next one, we have the Puma DV8 Nitro Pure, so $150.
I would put this in a similar camp-ish to the Dynafish Chao Nian.
I would also put this in a similar camp to the Nova Blast.
This has one of the smoothest daily training foams out there.
It packs a punch when it comes to that underfoot feel because remember what I said about what
makes a shoe a daily trainer for me right now?
You have to be able to go 10 to 12 miles and you also have to be able to pick up the pace.
I can hammer hill sprints in this thing.
I can run really fast in this thing in short spurts, but then I can also go long in this
thing.
Similar to the Dynafish, lightweight.
It comes in around 230, 240 in my size and decent comfort.
Whatever foam they use in here, it's a Piva foam.
Whatever blend or foam they use, it's just really nice and it's able to do a lot of different
things and excel at them.
If you want a lightweight daily trainer that's going to be highly versatile, decent stability
too because you do get this chunkier heel back here.
You can see it hangs off the platform, then Puma DV8 Nitro Pure is going to be a great
pick.
All right.
Last shoe on the list.
I told you we were going slow, slow to fast.
I actually probably got these two mixed up.
I would say Dynafish is a little bit faster than the DV8 Pure.
Regardless, fastest one on the list here, Adidas Evo SL.
There's been a lot of pixels wasted and gigabytes tarnished talking about the Evo SL.
Is it a daily trainer?
Is it a speed trainer?
Is it a super trainer?
I'm including it on the daily trainer list because you can pick these up for 70 bucks.
Yes.
$70.
Sierra.com has the deal for $70.
Also other sites that have tons of other deals, but great deal for a shoe that you can use
for a bunch of different types of runs.
Now this is definitely more specialized toward speedy runs.
I don't love it for recovery, but if you are someone who hits closer up to the front of
the platform or you just like a more aggressive shoe or you're not running every day, so most
of your runs are faster, then this is going to be a great pick.
Like the Pure, like the Dynafish, pretty lightweight, nice aggressive rocker, great pop on the foam
and it comes in 10 million different color ways, so you can always find a pair that suits
your style.
And again, $70 price point.
You can't go wrong with that when you can find that deal.
So that is all I have for you today.
Best daily trainers.
Let me know what do you think was snubbed?
What do you think was left off the list?
I did want to include the Nova Blast 6, but it just did not come out here in the box.
So we can add that to the list and say eight, eight best shoes, Nova Blast 6, good pop off
the forefoot.
Also we had to, I put the Super Blast in instead of the Nova Blast, so I think it kind of bumped
it off.
Right.
That is all I have for you today.
I appreciate you.
I'll be back tomorrow with another video.
