Saab 29 Tunnan Takes Centre Stage at the Swedish Air Force Centenary

The Saab 29 Tunnan was one of the aircraft that really stood out during the Swedish Air Force’s centenary air show at Malmen on 22–23 August. Among the modern fighters and the larger collection of historic aircraft, the unmistakable shape of the Tunnan provided a direct link to the early years of Sweden’s jet age. The event itself was the culmination of the Flygvapnet’s 100th anniversary celebrations, with the flying programme deliberately bringing together aircraft from different periods of Swedish aviation.
