Maga Mike Johnson Sabotages GOP Midterm Effort

MAGA Mike Johnson just had a slip up of epic proportions while campaigning down in Texas,
and Texas is the story of the day where we see James Tallarico yet another poll showing him
leading against MAGA Republican Ken Paxton in Texas's Senate race. MAGA Mike Johnson was down
there campaigning for several of his House candidates. I want you to watch what he has to
say, and then we'll dive right into it. Here we go.
The president called me two nights before Thanksgiving last fall, and he said,
Mike, we got to do a midterm convention. And I said, that's not a thing. And he said,
make it a thing. OK, so we're going to do a midterm. First off, a completely pathetic
impression of Donald Trump right there. If you're going to do it, you really got to go for it. You
can't half ass a Donald Trump impression. But let's watch what the rest of this has to say.
September 9th and 10th, first time in history any party's ever done this.
We're going to Dallas, Texas. Y'all could have been anywhere in the country.
And we're going to have everybody there two nights of earned media on national television.
We're going to parade all of our stars across the stage. We're going to highlight the great
work of people like Monica de la Cruz. OK, we're going to talk about what we've done for the
people. And then the president's going to look right in the camera and say, I am on the ballot,
OK, because even though his name isn't right, his administration, his legacy,
the American agenda is. Let me be 100 percent clear. That is the comment that Mike Johnson is
going to regret for a lifetime. Let me be 100 percent clear. If Donald Trump is on the ballot
and that is the question, as Mike Johnson is positing, that is a complete and total disaster
for the Republican Party. And let me go one step further. In 47 out of 50 states in this country,
47 out of 50 states, many of those deeply conservative Republican states that Donald
Trump won by a wide margin, 47 of those states are now showing Donald Trump having a negative
approval rating. Now, that is a complete and total disaster for the Republican Party.
And we're going to break it down a little further with some polling. So here we go.
And I just want to read to you some of the polling that we are seeing right now in Texas
in particular in Texas's 15th congressional district. This is Monica de la Cruz. The woman,
Mike Johnson, is in the room campaigning with. Donald Trump won that district by 18 points.
Right now, Democrat Bobby Pulido, a Tejano music star and political sensation, is up by five points
in Texas's 34th congressional district. Donald Trump won it by 11 points. Right now,
one of the very few Democrats to win a Trump congressional district, Vicente Gonzalez,
is up by three points. And in Texas 28, another district where Donald Trump was very competitive,
Henry Cuellar, Democrat, up 11 points in the ballot box right now. Now, again,
Donald Trump is the most unpopular president in American history at this point in time
during their second administration. It is why we saw in 2006, during what was likely to be a blue
wave, George W. Bush was not on the campaign trail. His first public rally wasn't until
late October. We know that his strategy was to pull himself off the ballot because the American
people didn't appreciate what he had been doing with regards to the economy, with regards to what
was going on with the war in Iraq. Is any of this rhyming at this point in time? The American people
are sick and fed up of Donald Trump's bullshit. And what we are seeing is they are fed up with
his economy and they're fed up with his war in Iran. And all of that now would lead any
political strategist to try and remove Donald Trump, the most unpopular president in American
history, from the ballot. So voters are rather thinking about something else. But Donald Trump,
the egomaniac that he is, cannot possibly allow any other individual to share the spotlight with
him. That is the greatest gift that Democrats could have possibly received. And now we are
going to see Democrats go on offense. Things are so bad right now for Donald Trump. I want you to
watch what Ted Cruz had to say about the state of play in Texas. Watch this. Into appropriate place,
the value of polling. But this is what polling currently says about the race for Senate in Texas.
It shows that James Tallarico is currently leading the Republican candidate Ken Paxton by something
like nine points. In many of these districts, these are districts won by double digits by
President Trump. What is the state of play in Texas? Well, listen, we have a very real race
in Texas. I believe we're going to win. I think Ken Paxton is going to be the next senator from
Texas. We're going to stay red. But it is a fight. It is a serious fight. It's going to cost several
hundred million dollars. The Democrats are flooding cash into the state of Texas, California,
New York. They're pumping cash into Texas. And the result is we have a fight on our hands.
The fact that Ted Cruz is going on Fox News and openly admitting that, A, James Tallarico is
winning this race right now, that Democrats have more energy and more enthusiasm behind their
candidate than Republicans do, this isn't some liberal pundit going on to try and make some news
and draw a little bit of a splash. This is a deeply conservative Republican going on Fox News
and making 100 percent clear that his party in the heart of conservatism in Texas is in big trouble.
That should be sending warning alarms throughout the entire Republican Party that what they have
done for the last year and a half has pissed a lot of Americans off. And it's why we are likely now
to see an enormous blue wave in November. If you can't wait to see that blue wave happen,
give us a like, follow us, subscribe. I'll continue to talk to you about all the news
you need to know about the upcoming midterms, and we'll see you later.
