The video discusses the causes and consequences of school avoidance (hemmasittare), highlighting how a rigid educational system fails gifted students and those with diverse needs. It emphasizes the need for smaller class sizes, personalized teaching, and better mental health support to ensure the school remains a democratic pillar for all citizens.
I was a chronic absentee, I was at home from school a lot.
Oh, I can see now how the school is structured, and that's why I understand why it's like this.
For that, so few are suited.
I am so exceptionally gifted.
I have a high IQ, sort of.
It feels like I usually fumble when I say it.
Then, if the school is designed like that, it becomes very boring.
There are very long explanations and a lot of repetition.
And if I were to function like that, it wouldn't work—it would be extremely difficult.
For me, it started when I began skipping school, and then it became a habit to avoid certain classes and attend others.
Oh, it also affected my results incredibly much.
I am investing more in curators in school.
It's quite common that it's not the best.
They're often like that; drink water and move around if you're not feeling well.
Elevhälsan is also worth investing in.
To have more educated individuals.
Yes, that's not good at all.
We are trying our best in every possible way, both with principals, teachers, and everyone who works here.
Get them to want to motivate themselves to go to school.
Oh, it could just as well be working more with the parents
but try to understand what the underlying problem is.
If they are not sufficiently motivated to accomplish it,
to lack the necessary qualifications in the form of certificates.
There could be countless supportive functions we can assist with.
Especially as an academic advisor.
Then one can go in and check what it is that makes this person insufficiently motivated.
I think, fundamentally, it's indeed a democratic issue.
School is, after all, a very important pillar in society.
to educate our children to become fully responsible citizens in our society.
So no, it's clear that this is a problem.
Of course, you have to do something about it, no doubt.
School is an important institution for democracy.
One receives basic education in social studies, among other things.
To understand the society in which one lives, it is important to receive that education, simply put.
I don't think it will work at all, because it's the teaching that needs to change.
It would have only made me feel even worse, because it was the school itself that was the problem.
I think that's a great idea.
I think a major problem is that the classes are too large and there are too few teachers.
So the teachers don't really have time to understand all the students.
I think one problem is that they are really trying to make teaching incredibly extensive for everyone.
Since everyone functions differently, it just makes things different.
Oh, that's why it doesn't work for everyone.
So I think we must relax it a bit and allow teachers to adapt more.
Oh, and fewer classes, I think, would also be great.
I think it may have a lot to do with the coronavirus pandemic.
When one starts flexing and staying home.
So many parents were at home at the time, so they kept the children home.
Then one had to go back to school.
Oh, I also know that many people are still working from home.
Many students may then know that their parents work from home.
Oh, it's easy for it to be a cause in many.
I think it could be anything from pressure to stress.
There are grading criteria to consider.
Sitting in, school today is much more advanced than it was 20 years ago.
So the demands on various skills are getting higher and higher.
Oh, I think I also think that could become too much to handle with the demands.
So I think there are many.
So it's everything interconnected through social media.
I place very great importance on early, early interventions.
One of them could be reducing crash growth.
I switched to a chosen school, Kristoffersskolan.
Oh, I had to start in a smaller group there.
With an awesome, awesome mentor.
Since it's a private school, they were somewhat more willing to make adjustments.
Since it was a smaller class, they could really adapt.
So it worked for all the students.
Then I started to find it fun again.
Just sitting at home, I don't have any particular solution.
I'll take care of it myself.
I have always had self-confidence.
Be confident.
It deeply affected me that I was left behind and everyone else just moved on without me.
But that actually made me stronger.
