Well hello there. We are in a new country today, or a new country for the channel at least,
because we are in the UK and we're visiting Staines Moor. So this is a large water body
and just to whet your appetite a tiny bit I've already heard some kingfishers. Hopefully we
can get a picture of one, but if not it's a very very picture-like location here so I think it's
going to make for a good video. So let's get on it. That was a green woodpecker flying away I believe.
You can hear that sound. There's a lot of linets around me. It's very cool. I haven't had them on
a video before I don't think. There's a robin singing in that bush somewhere. You can hear it,
it's that one that almost sounds like a little high-pitched toy gun or something.
There's a long-tailed tit. A few of them actually. It's a very very high-pitched one. I know I say
that a lot, but it's a barbed wire on one side and a flaunt on the other. All right we're almost on
the path that takes us along the reservoir. As much as this sort of bramble walk has been
interesting, I'm looking forward to being along the water. Well there's our great spotted
woodpecker. We made it. Thank God for that. That was a long walk and I'm very relieved that that
is indeed public access. It's a bit hard with these high fences, especially if you want to
capture something in flight, but I can see over there that the fence gets lower so that's quite
good. Are they, what are they called, the normal grebes over there or they just flew in just right
in the middle there, quite close to us? Oh there's some great crested grebes. Oh great crested,
that's it. There's Canada geese right there. So I think that just about does us for today.
That was a really cool trip, I really enjoyed that. Even though we didn't really see any or
many waders, I still really enjoyed coming here and checking out a bit of the British scenery.
I did get my one lie for today, which was the black-throated grebe, and as of this point I'm
not really sure if I have it on camera or not, so I'll show you a picture of what it looks like if
I didn't get it. But all in all, a really nice morning. Highlights for me were probably the
linets and the long-tailed tits, because they were just perching there really nicely. I was
able to get some cool photos of them, and you just don't see them super often in other places. So
as always, thanks for tuning in, let me know what you thought, and I'll see you on the next one.
