After a lifetime of gardening, and a lifetime of growing almost every type of plant I have set myself an almost impossible challenge - choose the 7 plants I couldn’t live without.

These aren't just my 7 favourite perennials. Trees, shrubs and perennials are all represented! I could have chosen over a hundred but forced to narrow it down here they are. These are 7 I would go to in any garden - they all have a story and they have all served me well over the decades. And best of all you can pick them all up in the garden centre!
