US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced an upcoming press conference to present new sanctions measures against Iran. CNBC reports this. Bessent confirmed he would make an official statement. He intends to outline the specific measures Washington plans to implement as part of its new sanctions policy against Iran, as well as explain its main objectives and details.

The minister's statement came shortly after Donald Trump issued a stern warning. The US president stated that countries that choose to support Tehran could face serious economic consequences.

Washington's rhetoric indicates its intention to increase pressure on countries in the region as part of its efforts to resolve the conflict, in which the US and Israel have been working together for about six months now.

The American administration has repeatedly stated its readiness to use financial and diplomatic leverage to achieve its goals. Bessent's expected measures could be the next stage of the "maximum pressure" policy against Iran, designed to force a change in the course of its authorities.

Bessent is expected to speak about sanctions compliance and the potential consequences for third countries that decide to circumvent US restrictions.

Iran remains a key focus of Washington's foreign policy amid the ongoing Middle East standoff. The US is attempting to rally allies to further isolate Tehran economically and curtail support for its affiliated groups in the region.

Experts believe that the new measures, scheduled to be announced on Monday, could significantly impact global markets and represent another step in Washington's long-term strategy to ensure security in the Middle East.

The decision is expected to confirm the US administration's tough approach to Iran, which American authorities consider one of the factors causing instability in the region.

Bessent's speech is also expected to outline Washington's future priorities vis-à-vis Tehran. Financial institutions and political analysts around the world are closely monitoring the US Secretary of State's statements.

Previously Donald Trump administration continues to increase economic pressure on Iran, but Israeli experts believe the US is currently seeking to avoid a direct military confrontation with Iran. The Trump administration is increasing economic pressure on Iran. However, Israeli experts believe Washington is not yet interested in an immediate military confrontation with Tehran. Sanctions and attempts to restrict the financial and oil channels through which Iran supports its economy are becoming the primary pressure tool. Former Israeli Consul in Los Angeles Yaki Dayan stated on 103FM radio that the Americans opted for an economic blockade because a military escalation would be extremely inconvenient for Trump on the eve of the US midterm elections. He added that Washington is counting on sustained pressure to avoid a direct re-entry into conflict.

Dayan cited the United Arab Emirates' joining the economic pressure measures as one of the key developments of recent days. He noted that the UAE plays a significant role in financial transactions related to Iran, so its involvement could potentially seriously complicate Tehran's position.

At the same time, the expert believes Washington's strategy is long-term. Trump, in his opinion, is not seeking to declare a quick victory and then return to the election campaign. Dayan believes that in the coming months, the primary focus may remain on the situation around the Strait of Hormuz, while a more dangerous phase will begin with the return of the issue of the Iranian nuclear program. "An explosion is not a matter of 'if,' but 'when,'" Dayan said, linking the further development of the crisis specifically to the nuclear issue. He believes that after the midterm elections, Trump may focus more on his political legacy and once again make the Iranian nuclear program a key foreign policy issue.
