Family, friends remember mechanic killed outside auto shop

Family, friends and community members gathered Friday night to honor 71-year-old Russell Vialva, a mechanic and business owner who was shot and killed outside his auto shop one week earlier.

During a vigil, loved ones released balloons and shared memories of Vialva, whom they described as a man dedicated to helping others.

"I know my dad's in heaven smiling down; it's just rough," said his son, Robert Vialva.

Russell Vialva was shot and killed outside his business, AI Plus Auto, on Ogontz Avenue. The shop was still celebrating its grand opening at the time of the shooting.
