Emergency in Italy: Torrential Rain and Landslides Cause Massive Damage

Italy floods have hit northern Italy as torrential rain and severe thunderstorms trigger flash floods, landslides and evacuations across Liguria and Lombardy. A bridge collapsed in Brescia province after a landslide, while hundreds of people were evacuated from affected areas.

Chiavari and other parts of Liguria experienced intense rainfall and flooding, while northern Lombardy saw landslides, overflowing waterways, damaged infrastructure and road closures.
