Antique Festival Shop with Me - Home Decor Finds!

You know I've been thinking a lot about this summer and what I want this summer to look like for our family and every year I feel like it just flies by and you know a lot of things happen in the summertime and we get busy and I really want to try to be intentional and slow down and cherish every single day the warmth of the sun the beautiful birds singing in the morning just every plant and flower that blooms in my garden I want to notice it I want to pause I want to smell it and just take it all in and just try to really cherish this summertime season with my boys you know our oldest is turning 13 this summer and I'm gonna try not to get emotional but it's just all of a sudden it just hits you out of nowhere that your kids are growing up so fast and if I have some young mamas watching I just want to encourage you to cherish these times I know everyone tells you that and it's so hard when you're in the thick of it and you're not sleeping and you feel like you're drowning but man all of a sudden you have a 13 year old and you would give anything for him to be a three year old again so I just I want to encourage you to pause this summer and to soak it all in and just listen to the the laughter of your children and hold their hand and go for walks and point out all of creation around you and just really soak it all in and that's what I'm trying to do this summer so I thought I would start off today's video with a little bit of encouragement for you well good morning friends it is already such a beautiful day outside you can see I've collected some of these gorgeous snowballs you I think they're already on their way out so I clipped some just in time I love when the lilacs bloom and the snowball bushes bloom but it always makes me sad how short their little flowering season is but I have a fun video planned for you today we recently had the opportunity to go to the Michigan Antique Festival Mike and I did and we found some really fun stuff so I the Michigan Antique Festival in Midland and it was so much fun it was so good we spent the whole day there and honestly we always go on the early bird day so the festival is technically on a Saturday and Sunday but that doesn't work great with our schedule with ministry so we always go as the booths are like being set up a lot of booths are already open some people are still kind of unloading so it's good in that you get like the first picks I guess but then it's also kind of sad because some people haven't even set up yet so I don't know either way we still had so much fun and I just thought I would share our little adventure with you now you ready I mean crazy but I feel like this would be so cute and a patio space with little plants on it look at the scallops so cute another colossal version of a t-rex I thought this is wicked I'll tell you yeah how much for it 20 you'll be able to ride this he's only four are you happy yeah okay let's keep going so many booths all right let's take a peek see what we find already love it see this is the price you normally see and I got that garage sale watering can for five bucks so super cute though love some of these I like this booth checking how heavy it was wow those are beautiful so beautiful a lot of people are still setting up right now so typically it's better to come on Saturday and Sunday but still lots of cool things what a cool basket the inside is in really good shape you know sometimes with these copper kettles you can't use them but this one looks really good love this blue basket here I actually love this one too though with the buckle what am I gonna do with more baskets you just I this is like a really cool little picnic basket all right guys so obviously you already know what I got at the Michigan Antique Festival because I shared all the finds and the footage with you but we did pop into an antique shop on the way there and I did grab this pot I'm really excited about it I know I don't need more copper I know but the inside of it is like brand new great condition so I thought I would actually cook with this I've actually been wanting to have some copper pieces that I can cook with I have all cast iron and stainless steel and then of course I have a few caraway pans but I thought this was like a perfect size pot and it's so pretty I could probably scrub it up a little bit clean it but um anyways I can't remember how much I want to say it was only like twelve dollars or something um it was super affordable so I was excited about that find now I didn't really buy a lot of littles at the antique fair I feel like I'm at the point now where I don't need more stuff if anything I'm kind of looking for just larger furniture pieces but unfortunately I have a soft spot for baskets I have way too many baskets and I ended up buying more baskets but what do you do when the prices are so good oh I need to show more self-control I think but this first basket was just too great to pass up so it's this one with the lid and the color is just perfection I love this sort of weathered gray brown color and the little flaps on the top I mean it's perfect to deliver food isn't this great it's like oh it's so useful I love it when I find items that are not just beautiful and can be used as decor but they're also pieces that I would actually use in everyday life and I already used this yesterday to deliver some baked goods and it's perfect because it has the lid and I love the little latch there and for 20 bucks I was very excited about this find I want to leave it out somewhere it's a little large but I would love to just have it out in my dining room somewhere I might put it above one of my either my corner cabinet or above my you know pine hutch or whatever so anyways really excited about this find and of course my second find was also a basket it's just like the one that I have here in my sunroom so I have the identical match to that basket over here and it is one of my favorite baskets of all time I love the fact that you can hang it on a door or you can like in this application I have it inside some shelving with some beautiful flowers in the fall I love to put dried hydrangeas in there it is just one of my absolute favorite baskets and so the fact that I found the larger version of this basket and he asked for 12 I offered 10 and he said yes it's like how do you leave it there you can't so um of course Mike was like where are you going to put this giant basket and I said I don't know but I need it so right now it's just hanging kind of on the pegs on the way down into our basement um you know maybe I could dry stems in it anyways I had to grab it that was my next find and it's just absolutely beautiful of course we can't forget Mike and his dinosaur Isaiah loves his dinosaur um but I'm not including that in our Michigan Antique Festival finds today the star of the show the piece that I fell in love with the moment I saw it was this gorgeous blue chippy chest and this is one of my favorite paint colors I have a couple of stools in my home that are this pink color and it must have been very common years ago it's like the perfect combination of blue and gray and honestly it's what I tried to kind of copy when I repainted my corner cabinet was this stunning finish I know most people might think it looks just dirty and old but I just love it I fell in love with it the moment I saw it and um it was in great condition and I love the way it looks in our sunroom man I am so excited about this find and I was just pumped to bring it home with me so this is where it's going to be for now I don't know what we will store in here it'll be perfect for more storage and again I love finding pieces that can double as both beautiful would love to have it over in the back right off my kitchen for whenever I'm cooking so I can go and clip herbs but of course we're working on the patio at the moment so I'm gonna have to wait until the patio is finished before I can put it back there but I just love the way it looks I want to get some flowers as well to put on this shelf I think that would be beautiful but the blue color and the rusty little edges just and it was so cute and I just fell in love with it so that was another find as well well thank you guys so much for watching today I always enjoy taking you along with me on my
