AI GeneratedThe speaker criticizes Democratic leadership, specifically Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries, for abandoning progressive candidates and policies. The discussion focuses on the party's reluctance to support Abdul Al-Sayed in Michigan and Jeffries' reversal on Medicare for All, arguing that establishment Democrats prioritize corporate interests over the needs of the working class.
Chuck Schumer has just put the nail in the coffin for the whole vote blue no matter who crowd,
okay? He is now turning his back on progressives who have, for years, plugged their noses and
voted for some of the most dogshit do-nothing Democrats imaginable. This reporting comes from
the Washington Post, where it shows that Schumer is totally fine tanking Abdul Al-Sayed. It says
here, Abdul's victory in Michigan's Democratic primary has complicated Senate Majority Chuck
Schumer's plans to help Democrats retake the Senate in November, tying his party's fortunes
to a candidate some Democrats say they cannot support. See, this is the problem right here.
Democrats say they cannot support Abdul Al-Sayed, then leave the Democratic party, okay? He is the
Democratic nominee. That is the whole point, right? Like Chuck Schumer says right here,
a path to winning back the Senate clearly goes through Michigan, but we have a whole bunch of
different paths, Schumer says. This is absolutely ridiculous, okay? This is kind of a breakdown
right here of the article. It says right here, it's complicating things because many Democrats
believe that Abdul Al-Sayed isn't the right pick, and a lot of his rhetoric towards Israel is not,
you know, congruent to the beliefs of the Democratic party establishment, and I think
that's just some absolute buns, okay? That's some absolute buns. There's some Democrats out here,
they're saying they won't vote for Abdul Al-Sayed, and I don't think that these few Democrats should
basically be able to control the narrative for the entire national Democratic party,
all because, all because, there's one candidate that they don't exactly appreciate.
Mehdi Hasan writes here, I know nothing should surprise me anymore, but to see establishment
Democrats who spent all of 2024 insisting, demanding that everyone had to vote for the
Dem candidate, that's true, vote Blue no matter who, to stop Trump, now saying they can't even
bring themselves to vote for a left Dem candidate to stop Trump and MAGA is just astonishing,
and he's not alone in these critiques. One other user writes, under the current Democratic rule of
Kim Jeffries and Chuck Schumer, Republicans troll the House, the Senate, and the White House. Why
would anyone take advice from these absolute losers? And that's 100% true. Take a look at
this polling. We've got Chuck Schumer polling at just 29% among New York City voters. So he's
talking about electability arguments and all this kind of bullshit when AOC is absolutely stomping
him when it comes to polling, right? It's just unbelievable levels. And if you want to talk
about electability again, Abdul Al-Sayed, when it comes to polling, is beating Mike Rogers in
polling. Some early polls were showing Abdul Al-Sayed lower, he is now ahead. So what the
is the argument here coming from Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries and all these centrist,
you know, establishment Democrats that are just addicted to losing, I guess,
they're addicted to losing. And Charlamagne right here actually makes some really good points. This
is about Hakeem Jeffries and how these guys just completely switch up on popular beliefs
for the interests of, let's be honest, corporations and capital owners.
One of the most confusing people in American politics, Congressman Hakeem Jeffries. Well,
actually, he's not confusing. If you follow the corporate PAC money, then you know exactly why
Hakeem moves the way he moves, OK? It's the reason they call him APAC Shakur. It's the reason
they call him APAC Rocky. But today, we aren't here to talk about APAC. We are here to discuss
Medicare for all. See, Hakeem was on Meet the Press with Kristen Welker,
and the House Minority Leader indicated that he does not currently support Medicare for all.
But what Hakeem did on Meet the Press illustrates one of the biggest problems Democrats have right
now. And it's one of the things that pisses me off the most about the Democratic Party.
They will tell people what they're against without giving them something equally clear
that they're for. 100 percent. 110 percent. I'm so glad that this messaging is actually
getting out there more. It is like it is nauseating that this has taken so long for
people to understand this. Democrats for so long have been like Trump is bad. Trump is bad. Trump
is bad. We know. Give us something to vote for. That's why Mamdani has been successful.
That's why progressives all across the country are winning the races because they're saying
we can lower your grocery prices. We can lower gas prices. We can do Medicare for all. Giving
people something to vote for. OK, we will come back to that. But I have a question for Hakeem
Jeffries in regards to Medicare for all. Simply what changed? OK, right. Hakeem, in September 2019,
you became a co-sponsor of the Medicare for All Act. Then in 2021, Hakeem, you know,
you wasn't just somebody who eventually jumped on the Medicare for all. No, you was an original
co-sponsor of the Medicare for all. He was active in the progressive caucus. Right. Hakeem Jeffries.
And yet. Meaning when that bill was introduced, your name was already on it. OK, now fast forward
to 2026. Hakeem Jeffries, as you just heard, goes on meet the press and says Medicare for all is not
legislation that he currently co-sponsors or supports. It's so true. When this is the most
progressive, like the zeitgeist has been. Right. It's just. And yet he's like, no, no, I'm good.
And once again, what changed? What did you learn between 2021 and now that changed your mind?
You're the leader of the House Democrats. OK, the House Democratic Caucus could potentially become
speaker of the House. But you appear to be down with corporate America, not the people. So I have
to ask, did your beliefs change when your title changed? Because that's what people hate about
politics. OK, it's not disagreement. All right. It's the feeling that politicians believe one
thing when they're trying to move up and another thing once they moved up. Exactly. Exactly.
One hundred and ten percent. And this is all 100 percent correct messaging. Right. And this
whole electability argument against Abdul, I'll say it is absolutely ridiculous because he is
actually a phenomenal speaker. He's a powerful speaker. He's a strong speaker. He's well-spoken.
He is great on press. It's just like here's a moment with him with Don Lemon that just is
absolutely phenomenal. And yet Chuck Schumer is over here being like, well, we're going to have
to change our strategy because Michigan is just out of the cards now when that is just not even
the case at all. He beat Haley Stevens. He beat the establishment pick. Now it is your job as
the Democrats to fall in line and vote blue no matter who, as you've been saying for 20 *******
years. They are desperately trying to distract us from the fact that you can't afford a full
tank of gas. Desperately trying to distract us from the fact that you came in trying to buy
steak and ended up with some ground chuck. Desperately trying to distract you from the
fact that your car that you really, really wanted to replace this year, not going to happen for you
because you don't have the money. Desperately trying to distract you from the fact that
you're worried about your job being automated out by AI. And let me just tell you, Donald Trump,
Mike Rogers, these are folks who actually did things to create the circumstances that you're
living in. Donald Trump is wasting your tax dollars fighting a war that's raising your gas prices.
He's done nothing about the inflation crisis except for making it up. And he's more interested
in the drapes in his ballroom than he is about whether or not you actually can afford a house
with another bedroom. So you know who didn't do those things? A Twitch streamer. Hassan Pryker
didn't raise your gas prices. Hassan Pryker never did anything about your grocery prices.
So they can go after him if they want. And all that says is you don't even have anything on me
because you know what I did? I rebuilt the health department in the city of Detroit.
I led Wayne County's Department of Health. I made sure your kid had glasses.
I made sure that you weren't swimming in medical debt. I made sure that your kid wasn't drinking
leaded water in their schools. So it's funny because they're trying to attack me by way
of somebody else who's not actually responsible for the problems that I'm actually trying to-
Not an elected person, not running for office, just literally a Twitch streamer.
They have more problems with him. Jared Moskowitz retweeting, tweeting at Hassan Pryker after he
beat Oliver Larkin yesterday. His first announcement is, I bet Hassan Pryker's
really angry right now and not thank you to the people who voted for me. Deranged,
actually deranged. It just shows that they've got nothing to actually run on. If you're Mike Rogers
and your whole record was voting 19 times- The only thing they have on Abdul is his name is
Abdul and he canvassed with Hassan Pryker. Nothing. They have nothing.
Prescription drug prices. What are you going to say? I'll look at him. He's got a name. You
probably never met anybody with a name like his. My name didn't raise your gas prices.
My name didn't vote to raise prescription drug prices. Mike Rogers did that. So keep coming at
us. At the end of the day, you can come at Hassan, you can come at me, but I want to make sure that
folks understand that what's at stake right now is whether or not we want a sock puppet for Donald
Trump to be worn from the Oval Office, to continue to offer zero check on policies that are wasting
your tax dollars, that are leaving our servicemen and women stranded, that helped to expand access-
He's just so good. To opioids and push the opioid crisis from a guy who decided he wanted to live
in Florida. And that's both of them, Donald Trump and Mike Rogers. So I welcome their discussion.
If you were trying to attack me by way of a Twitch streamer, go ahead. But,
you know, I got a lot to say about what you actually did.
It's, yeah, exactly. Right. And this is a perfect encapsulation of everything that is wrong with
not only Mike Rogers, Donald Trump, and everyone who is attacking Abdul El-Sayed,
but also the do nothing Democrats like Chuck Schumer, who are not actually supporting a
candidate that needs support in a race that will be hotly contested because of the amount of
vitriol and money and energy and power going into the Michigan Senate race. And if you agree that
spineless Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries are no longer the leaders that we need in the
Democratic Party, be sure you subscribe to U.S. Democratic Socialists. We do progressive updates
and news like this pretty much every single day. So be sure to subscribe, click the bell so you're
