A Modern Bakery & Coffee Station in Nafplio: A Blend of Urban Harmony & Futuristic Aesthetics

Within an existing steel structure at Nafplio's city entrance, a modern bakery, food, and coffee station were crafted to serve passersby, visitors, and residents. The challenge lay in balancing the building's dominance in a semi-urban context with the constant movement of a central highway. Distinctive "scales" on the facades, both protective and aesthetic, created dynamic lighting, eliminating the need for conventional signage. Water elements marked the transition from public to private space, particularly vital as one entered the expansive interior. Moving from a 2.30m outdoor canopy to a lofty 6.50m main space, materials were meticulously chosen to infuse light from the ground up. Starting with sturdy marble travertine romano Classico at the base, transitioning to light-hued marine plywood, and culminating in futuristic shapes for the exhibition area, the design transformed this space into a harmonious blend of urban and futuristic aesthetics.
