The herd has made it across but one youngster suddenly turns back. As wildebeest cross the Mara River, a young animal makes the puzzling decision to head back into the water instead of following the others to safety.

The strong current makes the return journey increasingly difficult, and as the youngster struggles in the river, crocodiles take advantage of the opportunity.
