I Tried the #1 Hotel in the World

Afternoon, I am in Hong Kong and tonight I have booked the cheapest room in the best number one voted hotel in the world. The hotel is called the Rosewood in Hong Kong and it is literally just been voted number one in the world's best 50 hotels. This hotel is supposed to be unbelievable. It's got over 10 restaurants, the spa is supposed to be amazing and I've brought the weather from the UK with me. It is hammering it down. This is not ideal. You can book suites in this hotel for thousands, but why have I booked the cheapest room? Because you can go to any hotel in the world and book the biggest suites and the biggest rooms and it'll be amazing, but for this to be the best hotel for me, you have to book the cheapest room and still see if it's the best. What I want to find out today is, is the Rosewood in Hong Kong the best hotel in the world or is it just another luxury hotel? Let's go and find out. You can literally see the Rosewood in the back over there, that's the top of it. Just seeing where this hotel is, it literally is on the harbour here and you can see Hong Kong Island in the back. I tell you what, some of the views out of those hotel rooms must be amazing at night. I just hope I've got one, but I'm probably gonna be on the first floor. I'm a big fan of Hong Kong to be fair, I like it. I've just never seen so many designer shops in my life. Right, well this is it. That is the Rosewood in Hong Kong. You've literally got this whole terrace down here with chairs. And then you've got a seating area here. And you're just looking out to all that. Not many lounges have that view. You've got a city view. It's quite overcast tonight, so you can't see everything. But there's literally the harbour there. I'm guessing this is the view you get with the cheaper rooms because the more expensive ones will be on the other side, so you get the whole harbour and Hong Kong Island. But still, I'm not being funny. It's not a bad view, that. You can still literally see all the city here, and it's overcast tonight, so you can't really see too much anyway. To think I'm on one of the lowest floors in the hotel. That is a great view. Right, let me show you the bathroom. This is a big bathroom. This bathroom is almost as big as the bedroom. Look at the size of this. You've literally got a bath in the middle of the bathroom. You've got two sinks here. The sinks are literally metal. You've got a little dresser here, loads of towels, and this is the shower. You've got a double shower and two doors to it. I can literally come through that door, and then I can go out another. It's quite clever how they've done it, really. Big shower, bath in the middle of the room, and it just makes it a lot bigger. I like it. I like it a lot. Then you come through here, you've got the toilet in there. Japanese toilet seat that opens on its own. It's even clean in it. You've got rear and soft, front, pressure, position, and a dryer. Right, that should be interesting to use that. Pulsate. Yeah, I think I'll avoid that button. Then when you come out the toilet, you've got the main wardrobe area here. Somewhere to put your suitcase. Wardrobe, safe, and then you've got a few drawers there. It's actually really clever, this. So you come out the bathroom, into the wardrobe, then you walk straight back into the hall, and the main door's there. So you can literally go around the room in a big circle, and then you're back in the bedroom. It does make you think how nice this room is, and this is the cheapest room in the hotel. What's the most expensive one going to look like? The most important though, what is this bed like? That is comfy. I'm absolutely knackered after that massage. It's a bit clearer this morning, so you can see all the buildings and you can even see the mountains in the back. And then you've got the harbour down there. That is a good view. All right, let's get into this breakfast. Right, this room cost £842 or just over $1,100 a night. It's a lot. And obviously, if you stayed here for a week, it would build up. But honestly, the quality of this hotel and what you get for the cheapest room, I'm impressed. That's good pineapple. I've got to say, I don't really know what I expected. Like, I've stayed in that many hotels. It's like, what makes it the best hotel in the world? But honestly, I've got to say, I am impressed. The breakfast is really good as well. I think everything in this hotel is just really good. The question is though, is it the best hotel in the world? It's obviously all based on opinions and it depends what you like in a hotel. But Hong Kong's really unique. The people here are great. The food's amazing. The rooms are nice. And this is right at the bottom, so you can only imagine what the top's going to be.
