This magnificent, fine and impressive antique George V English cast sterling silver table ornament has been realistically modelled in the form of a Royal Hussar officer on horseback.
The model is embellished with exceptional cast details reproducing the fine details of the soldier's full uniform, in addition to the anatomical details of the horse and male figure.
The silver horse stands to an impressive rectangular base ornamented with terrain details.
The sterling silver soldier is displayed on the original painted wood presentation plinth.
The plinth is fitted with the original hallmarked sterling silver plaque bearing the contemporary engraved inscription 'Presented to Major & Qm S. W. Adderley on the occasion of his Silver Wedding by the Officers of the Royal Gloucestershire Hussars, 12th July 1916'; this inscription could be removed upon request.
This magnificent model is fitted to the original hinged boxed wood and velvet lined case; this is a fine and beneficial feature for the safe keeping of the piece.
