This just changed EVERYTHING for the Hawks... - This is PERFECT

The 2025 draft lottery just went down in the atlanta hawks. They picked up the number 13 pick In this draft and I want to say that this changes Everything for the atlanta hawks because this is a perfect situation I'm going to run down how this definitely could have landed in the worst situation for the atlanta hawks We probably would have never got this pick and there was a slim chance that that possibly would have happened I'm going to also explain to you guys who we can possibly look for In the future with this pick and also I definitely definitely definitely got to give a major Thank you to a former atlanta hawk because they were the key Person I would say in this entire situation So sit down really quickly man Because i'm going to run through this and i'm going to explain it so that you and I can both understand it But before we get any further, let me go ahead and just christen the show what's going on everybody My name is walter pollard and this is atlanta hawks digest Now, of course we all know, uh the 2025 Draft lottery just went down. Uh, not too long ago and I I have to first off preferences Preference this whole thing by saying the dallas mavericks got away with Something I mean goodness gracious. Just just check this out really quickly the second pick will be made by Yeah, as you can see, uh, the dallas mavericks are extremely excited I mean just a while ago we were talking about how they Flipped up and just screwed everything up in the nba just in general getting rid of their superstar They took him to an nba finals last year and luke adonis trading him away to the los angeles lakers But that is not why I am here That is not why i'm going to talk to you guys today because listen the atlanta hawks just landed the 13th uh pick in the um We have 13th overall pick in this 2025 draft That is a major deal because there was a 3.8 percent chance that that could have landed to the sacramento kings but fortunately for us um There was a lot of things that went on. I just want to point that out I mean there was a coin toss we had to hope that one team didn't make the playoffs because we didn't make the playoffs and All of this different stuff but thankfully there was of course a trade that went down and we got to thank A specific atlanta hawk for helping us out in a major way because that definitely set the atlanta hawks up in a major major way Uh real quick man. I want to say yeah in seven games. I want to say Yeah, if i'm not mistaken seven games and of course they went on to win that championship But long story less long, of course, it was time to pony up to kevin hurt I think he had just signed a four-year 65 million dollar extension with the atlanta hawks. Uh, I think leading up to that season. So With the performance that he had Uh with the atlanta hawks and how things were going It was on the up and up and it was almost like it would make sense for the atlanta hawks to do what they had To do of course in 2022. They traded him away to uh, the sacramento kings This is what the atlanta hawks got from kevin hurt. Atlanta hawks got justin holiday moe harkless And a 2025 protected first round draft pick now that was the pick that of course I was talking about Uh earlier in the season and how we were on the lookout for um how we were on the lookout for the The sacramento kings seeing how they were gonna play out how their season would affect us And also we were looking at the los angeles lakers, which we got the 22, uh with the number 22 pick as well But going back to this situation, man Thankfully we were able to send kevin hurt to uh, the sacramento kings for that Uh and things were looking pretty good for kevin hurter and with the sacramento kings, I think yeah, he got them Uh to the playoffs his first season. They were doing well. You had darian fox you had uh, kevin hurter You had some bonus so things were on the up and up and it almost looked like it was a perfect fit Unfortunately things didn't necessarily work out like that in the second season that he was with the sacramento kings His production went down his minutes went down Subsequently they ended up trading him away to the chicago bulls and that was the same trade that sent darian the arian fox down to the um to the spurs and of course, uh Herder goes to the bulls that levine comes back to uh, sacramento Uh, whatever whatever and that happened, but of course, uh, kevin hurter again that definitely played well into our favor because Uh, it was time for the sacramento kings to give up what they owe Of course, they had said gave us that trade. But again, there was some Ties to it or strings tied to it if the trade were to have landed in the top four Uh, then the kings would have retained that pick there was a 3.8 Chance of that happening. Thankfully that did not happen. And of course the atlanta hawks Um, they got the number 13 pick sacramento, of course loses that pick now How does the spurs even play play into this situation in general, right? well The spurs play into this because the atlanta hawks had the number 14 pick in this draft But they gave that to the spurs in the dijonte trade Okay in the dijonte murray trade that got him sent to atlanta not to the pelicans Uh, but the dijonte murray that got him from the set, uh from san antonio spurs to the atlanta hawks Of course, we traded away a 2025 draft pick which was of course the 24th the 20 Yeah, i'm sorry the 14th pick in this year's draft. So of course now they uh, the San antonio spurs has that draft pick Uh, the atlanta hawks have the 13th draft pick and of course the sacramento kings just gets diddly squat Okay, you got rid of the arian fox to the spurs, uh, you only have some bonus in uh, Zach levine and hopefully you guys can add to you to your roster Of course, you sent that guy to the chicago bulls i'm not saying that things have gone terrible for this for the sacramento kings, but they definitely could Uh use a pick me up right about now because a lot of things have changed And thankfully the atlanta hawks have got a lot of good stuff in their favor Of course, we didn't make the playoffs and the season ended in an extremely terrible note. Thankfully Yes, I love to hear those hand claps. Thankfully things did pan out in this situation now, uh earlier I have talked about the uh Diffic or potential people that the atlanta hawks could get uh in this draft, okay, the atlanta hawks definitely could uh, take this draft and add to the atlanta hawks add to who Uh trae young could use or somebody that trae young could have in his repertoire to potentially go further, of course Uh, I feel as though the overall objective is to retain trae young in atlanta And I feel as though it would definitely start here again. We still need a president of uh, basketball operations Uh, and of course, we do have a gm, uh on say on size. Sala Uh, we do need a president of basketball operations and of course the draft is coming up, um Just going over different mock drafts and draft boards I have been looking and somebody that does kind of um I guess strike Some type of uh interest is of course this young man young gentleman, uh, igor. Yeah, I want to see igor demin demin, uh Deming yeah igor demin this guy. Listen, I I know i'm terrible with names So don't kill me in the comments, but I do remember seeing this guy playing against alabama during the ncaa tournament I do remember seeing him playing with biu byu And again, this guy was pretty good I was impressed with his court vision how he was able to get the ball to a lot of his um A lot of his other teammates he was definitely active with the ball Things happened with the ball in his hand And so I do feel as though this will be a good look for the atlanta hawks going forward again We have the 13th pick. We don't have to go over that anymore We do have this situation so the hawks can land this young gentleman as an extra point guard Uh somebody that can help trey young. Um, I guess give him some minutes off of the court Of course trey young he definitely played a lot of minutes this season. He definitely played very well of course, uh getting the You know high High man as far as assist goes, uh, but he was on the court and I don't think he necessarily had to help Um at the point guard position. I do feel as though this young gentleman would definitely help him a lot As well as um, there's another young gentleman, uh, noah isingway or is he seeing you? Uh from paris france 16 200 pounds. Uh, I don't have any tape on that young gentleman But of course, he's somebody that can also end up with the atlanta hawks So there's a lot of different choices and things that we can do. Listen the atlanta hawks They have a lot, uh at their disposal now that we know if we have the number 13 pick which we do which we do We also have the 22 pick, uh in this draft as well Uh, well correct me if i'm wrong, but i've last time I checked I looked at the board It said the atlanta hawks at 22 via the los angeles lakers So from my understanding, I know we have the 13 and another 22 picks So we have a lot at our disposal Hopefully the atlanta hawks can definitely make well with this situation and we can hopefully retain trey young here in atlanta And we can start getting back into the winning ways and hopefully compete for the eastern conference final with dat gummit a freaking nba title My name is walter pollard.
