Dead dog found abandoned on side of NJ bridge prompts investigation

Police in Hamilton Township are investigating after officers responded to a report of a dead dog abandoned on the side of a bridge near Second Avenue and Assunpink Boulevard on Monday.

Jack Loncosky, who lives just feet from where the dog was found, said the discovery was disturbing.

"It's terrible," he said. "I don't know why they would abandon it like that. Wrap it up and just throw it away like that."
