Howard Shore’s “The Shire Theme” is perhaps one of the most famous melodies performed on the tin whistle, a traditional Irish fipple flute.

I performed this remarkable composition on the aforementioned whistle, together with the “altushka” – a hybrid instrument combining the Russian gudok and the arpeggione.
