Extended Double Crochet | How to Crochet
The Extend Double Crochet Stitch Pattern is easy and a great way to increase the height of a double crochet stitch by about half a step.
As mentioned in previous posts, this group of extended basic crochet stitches are great stitches for when you wish to add some height to a project. They are easy to work and when added to a crochet pattern give the design more drape and a little more interest than a basic stitch.
The "extended" bit of the stitch is simple. To “extend” the stitch simply means to draw up a loop through one loop on your hook before proceeding to complete the stitch.
Today, in the pattern below you will see this technique added to the basic double crochet stitch.

For this tutorial I will be using a small amount of a worsted weight yarn in a single colour and a 5mm crochet hook.
