Raiders DB Coach Joe Woods Packers' Defensive Stars Shine

If you had to identify one area where Max has made the biggest jump since getting here, what would that be? I think just being consistent. Like I said, he's a very instinctive guy, so he sees a lot. You have to be careful coaching guys like that, because they'll see something and the guy will be running free. Hey, you've got to cover that guy, but great instinct. So I just think him getting comfortable, speed of the game, the type of quarterback he's going to play against, but just not taking too many risks. How does Brock Bauer challenge the group and make them better? Yeah, you already know the answer to that. He's just an elite tight end. He's more like a receiver, you know, with that size. He's a great rock runner. You know, we do some basic things in coverage for us, just trying to get better at what we're doing. But if you don't count for him, you can see the problems he creates. So I'm just glad he's on our team. That secondary being as young as it is, how important was it to get Eric Stokes back in? Yeah, it was very important to me. I feel like last year was good for him. After being at Green Bay, I felt like last year he did some really good things, and I feel like he got his confidence back to where it was before he first got in the league. And that's a big thing I've been impressing him with, because the room is so young. They all look to him for leadership. So he's doing a lot of things that maybe you guys don't see on the field, behind closed doors, to try to lead those guys. How has Darien Porter progressed this offseason? He's getting better. And again, I think the thing with Darien many people forget is that he really didn't play that much DB in college. You have guys that play DB from when they were playing Little League to high school to college, and he was a receiver. So a lot of the nuances of the game for him was something that he was learning last year. So now he's a lot more comfortable. There's still things he's working on, but I feel like he's really improved.
