A Reason to Return | Sonora Pass Overlanding

There are places you visit once... and then there are places you spend the rest of your life looking for reasons to return.

In this episode of Los Burros Overland, I head back to one of my favorite places in California—the spectacular Sonora Pass in the Eastern Sierra.

The adventure begins with a short trail I've wanted to explore for years before climbing into the high country, where alpine meadows burst with wildflowers, storm clouds gather over rugged peaks, and hidden viewpoints reveal breathtaking panoramas. Eventually, the journey leads to one of my favorite alpine lakes at over 9,000 feet, where an evening of rain, low clouds, and drifting mist transforms the landscape into something unforgettable.

Some places never stop surprising you. Every visit reveals another trail, another view, and another reason to come back.
