Rep. Davidsmeyer Presents Charges Against Ammons to House Special Investigating Committee

State Representative C.D. Davidsmeyer, one of the original signers of the petition creating the House Special Investigating Committee, presents an amended petition of charges against State Rep. Carol Ammons. The amended petition focuses on the alleged abuse of taxpayer dollars and state grants for the personal benefit of the Ammons family. On July 7, 2026, Rep. Carol Ammons was indicted by the U.S. Attorney for the Central District of Illinois. The first hearing of the House Special Investigating Committee was held on August 6, 2026.
