Yankees Roster Changes: Anthony Volpe Optioned to AAA

I mean like Dominguez and you mentioned earlier Volpe moved down to AAA to make room because Elliott Ramos also on his way looks to be in that lineup here tonight. That was another trade Yankees made late yesterday getting a right-handed bat in the outfield there which is good. Defensively I would imagine he can, he's a shortstop is he not? So this kid can, he can actually play some defense as well. He was, are they calling him up from AA? Is that what I'm understanding here, Greg? The Yankees? I don't think he was at AAA, right? I think so. Yeah, I think so. He's a AA call up. I think so. But look, he's, but he's, he's, he looks the part, you know, like I think immediately what the Yankees are thinking is he's going to play great defense. So that, so immediately it's like, okay, we know we have that. And if he could just play better than Volpe, there'll be happy. And that's not saying very much. Isn't that sort of stunning too? I mean, think about where Volpe was Joe, I mean, for last year, obviously was, was not good, but think about where he was two years ago, Anthony Volpe, the shortstop of the future. This is going to be the next shortstop for the next 10 years. And now that's it, honestly, that's it. I think without a doubt, like Volpe's on Kansas city next year, like he's playing Pittsburgh, but you can look around the league and, and, uh, he's, he's, he needs to leave New York. I think it's fair to say at this point, it just didn't, it's not working for you. Yeah. I, uh, it's not, uh, but I can tell you this, uh, if he does make a splash, boy, move over dirt. Is it too early to give the Derek, uh, Jeter, uh, uh, comparisons yet? Well, let him get a hit tonight. I think he does get it. Maybe one. How about this? First hit home run. Let's see what that prop market is for him. First shot home run for the Yankees here tonight, George Lombard, Jr. Not a huge home run guy. So I, I don't know that I would just means a good price. He's been good. I mean, uh, and that was against the white socks, Philadelphia gave up one run prior. The Yankees could, if they didn't keep getting some endings out of him, good stuff there.
