Je-sus got in-to a boat, crossed o-ver,
and came to His own cit-y.
Some men brought to Je-sus a par-a-lyzed man,
ly-ing on a mat.
When Je-sus saw the faith of them,
He said to the par-a-lyt-ic,
“Son, be of good cheer;
your sins are for-giv-en you!”
And at once some of the scribes
said within them-selves,
“This Fel-low blas-phemes!”
But Je-sus, per-ceiv-ing their thoughts, said to them,
“Why do you en-ter-tain e-vil thoughts in your hearts?
Which is eas-i-er, to say,
‘Your sins are for-giv-en you,’
or to say, ‘A-rise, and walk’?
But that you may know that the Son of Man
has au-thor-i-ty on earth to for-give sins.”
Then He said to the par-a-ly-tic,
“A-rise, take up your bed, and go to your house.”
And he a-rose and de-part-ed to his house.
When the mul-ti-tudes saw it,
they mar-veled and glo-ri-fied God,
who had giv-en such au-thor-i-ty to men.
