Little Quacker is a 1950 American one-reel animated cartoon and the 47th Tom and Jerry short directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera and produced by Fred Quimby. Plot: On a farm, a mother duck leaves for a swim, leaving her egg in the nest. Tom takes advantage of this and steals the egg, bringing it home to cook. However, when he cracks it open, a duckling named Quacker hatches instead. Tom decides to fatten him up and make roast duck, but Quacker escapes and hides with Jerry. Jerry learns about Tom’s plan and decides to protect Quacker. A chase begins: Tom tries to catch the duckling with a cleaver, but Jerry interferes, setting traps for him. As a result, Tom repeatedly fails and even hurts himself. Later, Tom tries to lure Quacker using a duck call, but Jerry swaps it with a stick of dynamite, which explodes in Tom’s face. The chase continues across the farm, with Tom constantly getting into ridiculous situations. In the end, the mother duck finds her son, but Tom tries to grab him again. She calls her husband, Henry, a strong drake. After hearing what Tom has done, Henry punishes him by shaving off his fur with a lawn mower.
