Couple Transforms 25-Year-Old Van into DIY Campervan | Start to Finish by ‪@Mar.lavender‬

In this project, Mara Lavender and her partner Connor take a 25-year-old VW T4. Despite being once a tired working van, they get to methodically transform it into a compact, modern weekend camper designed to be accessible, functional, and genuinely enjoyable to live in.

Their goal isn’t excess or luxury, but smart design: every modification serves a purpose, every system is simplified, and every square inch is used with intent.

As part of their Camper Conversion Giveaway Series, this build is meant to prove that a budget-friendly van can still deliver comfort, independence, and style. It’s a camper built for freedom: easy to maintain, easy to adapt, and ready for weekends away without the complexity that often scares people off van life.
