The vlog covers her final moments in her dorm, the stress of packing and airport travel, a significant flight delay, and her eventual arrival home to reunite with her family and a new puppy.
Today is Monday, May 18th, 2026. I just finished my junior year of college, and today
I'm moving out of New York back home to Miami for the summer. Let me give you a quick dorm tour.
You've probably seen my dorm before if you've seen any of my other videos, but if not,
let me put some clips here. But this is what my dorm is looking like right now.
It's so sad. I had to put all my stuff away in storage. That's everything I'm taking home for
summer. Well, that and this, which I have to put in a backpack now. But I took down all my wall
decor, I took away my beautiful sheets, and I've been using these sheets that someone donated for
the last couple nights. I had to put all my stuff away in storage on Friday, so for the last couple
nights that I've been here, it's really felt like I'm squatting in an abandoned dorm. So it's a
little past eight. I have an Uber shuttle booked for 11.15, so we have to be out of here. I'm done
by then, like, hard cut off. But I really don't have much to do. Oh, and I slept. This is kind
of ridiculous. I slept in the clothes that I'm going to wear today because I just, like, wanted
to put away all my laundry. I didn't want to have, like, anything to unpack and put away today. I
wanted it to be as easy as possible. And I'm grateful I did that because it's making this
morning so much easier. Last night, closing those bags was a mission, but I slept easy because that
big bag that I have to throw is, like, 47, 48 pounds. And I'm just so relieved to hear that
because an overweight bag would actually ruin my day. I looked it up. I think Delta Charge is,
like, a hundred dollars. So I'm so happy to know that's fine. All right, let's get ready for the
last time in my dorm room. I got hiccups while I was drinking water and that's insane.
Okay, so I'm pretty much fully ready to go. So I think I can pack all this up. Let's do the super
important part, packing my backpack. I already kind of started. I don't know if you can see me
well. The lighting's a little bit weird in this angle. Super important. Cannot forget this. So far,
I have my Bible, my notebook, the book I'm reading, my little pouch, my Switch, my laptop. But all this
has to go in here. And I need room to put my purse in case the gay agent gives me trouble. Honestly,
though, if anybody can make it work, it's me. I am seriously the best packer in the world. Maybe
it's because I move so much because I go to college out of state, but I'm being 100% serious
when I say I'm the best packer ever. Or maybe it's all the Tetris I played when I was a kid. No,
I just found two Nitos in the side pocket of my backpack. This is like a currency in 2026. Okay,
I packed everything up. I am pretty much fully ready to go. Look at how empty my room is.
Kind of makes me... Oh my gosh, I forgot this stuff. I'm so glad I'm filming this video because
I would have totally left that. And at least this sticky note from my grandma means so much to me.
Where am I going to put this? I guess I'd like to keep this too. My first time voting.
And this little badge my friend made for me. Okay, I put those pieces away safe and sound.
So glad I'm filming this. Now, the only thing I have to do before I leave is I want to find a
place to put this. And then I forgot that I have those two things over there, my Swiffer and my
broom. I mean, those are things that aren't super expensive to replace. So if I lose them over the
summer, I can live with that. But if I can keep them, save 20 bucks, even better. Let's see where
I can put this. Just a silly walking around with this crazy tall thing. And it fits.
Okay, I just dropped my lamp off in this little office space that
it should be fine there. But if it's not, again, it's not a big deal. All right, before I leave,
I want to get one last açaí boa at my favorite place. I swear I'm gonna have withdrawals this
summer. I have gone to Baia Bar almost every single day this year. And I'm gonna miss them.
There's like no Baia Bar near me where I live. So gotta make the most of my time here. Such a
beautiful day, too. Like, New York in the summer is everything. I really, really, really hate the
winters, which is why I dislike New York and, like, want to leave as soon as I graduate. Because
it's cold here. It's more than half the year, honestly. But when the weather is nice and I get
to wear my tank top and my shorts, I love it. It's also just so beautiful when the trees are alive
and green and the sky is blue. Like, if you took the city of New York and placed it in a warmer
climate, dream city, actually. I'm gonna miss this so bad. Seriously, no better way to start
the morning than with an açaí bowl. That was so good. I tried to record a time lapse of me eating
it with my hands-free camera. My guess is that the footage came out too shaky, but we'll see.
Okay, I'm back in my room. It is 10 30 right now. I am a little bit nervous about leaving,
though, because I'm taking an Uber shuttle. If you don't know what an Uber shuttle is,
Uber launched this service in specifically New York City, where it's this sprinter van that you
share with a few other people and it takes you to the airport and to, like, different pickup spots
in the city. There's a pickup spot really close to me, so I love it. Because a shuttle ride is,
like, 15-20 bucks. A typical Uber for me to the airport is, like, 100 bucks easy. I think the
most I ever paid was, like, 150. Or no, the most I ever saw was 150. There's no way I was gonna pay
that. That's more than my flight. So these Uber shuttles are amazing, but they allow you to have
one, like, carry-on bag and one personal item. So I have, like, my backpack and my carry-on
typically, but today I have my carry-on, my backpack, and this, like, behemoth of a bag. So
we'll see. I'm just gonna, like, not say anything, see if they let me put it in the trunk, but if
not, like, worst case, I'll just have to get an Uber. Okay, I was just about to leave and I realized
I totally forgot to take this mirror off the wall. I hope it comes off easy. I really don't want to
take off any paint. That was nice. I hung it up with these command strips. Oh no. Please come off
clean. Ow! Okay, this is it. I'm heading out. I am, I don't know why, like, I really do get a little
bit, like, emotional. Obviously not to this extent, but, like, even when I leave hotel rooms I just get,
like, sentimental about it. I don't know why. I'm just a very emotional person. Had a lot of good
times in this room. All right, and we are out. I'm on my way to the Uber shuttle pickup point. It's, like,
a block away. Oh my gosh, it is so hard to carry these two bags and film. This is definitely a
two-handed activity. Okay, I made it through TSA. It's currently 12 30. My flight doesn't start
boarding till 2 30, so I do have some time to kill, and that all actually went so well. The Uber shuttle
driver didn't give me any trouble for the extra bag. Didn't even mention it. My bag was underweight
at the check, so that's awesome. Didn't have to pay the $100 fee, and I made it through TSA without
having to open up my carry-on. Not that I thought I'd have to, but you know sometimes they just, like,
flag random bags. That bag was so hard for me to close. Like, I don't know how I did it. I was really
hoping that I wouldn't have to, like, open it and close it and sit on it and struggle like I did
last night. So, we're good.
Okay, so I've been sitting here. I'm editing on my laptop, and I'm in this really weird chair.
I think they meant to make it look like a vacation, like, lounge chair, but it kind of looks like a
dentist chair.
Flight 2300 service to Miami is gonna be leaving now from gate 8098, 898 at 6 55. We do apologize
for this inconvenience.
My flight was supposed to take off at 3. Now it's taking off at 6 55. He just made the announcement
right now. I just heard that. Oh my god. But it's fine. I've been really productive. I've been editing.
I got a quick meal, and I don't have, like, urgency to get home. I'm gonna be there all summer, so it's
not like it's eating away into precious, like, trip time. Um, and I have outlets, so honestly, I'm
chilling. This afternoon is going pretty differently than I thought it would, but that is what it is.
What are you gonna do? It could be worse, you know? Like, I think where a delay really sucks is, like, when
you have, like, a short vacation, and, like, delays eat into it, but my situation is pretty calm, and
editing this video is keeping me entertained. All right, I'm gonna keep going. I'll check in later.
Okay, it's 6 p.m. Allegedly, my flight boards in 20 minutes, but I'll believe it when I see it. I ate
at around 3, but Delta just gave us these $15 vouchers for, like, food vouchers, I guess, to make
up for, like, the four-hour delay. I'm not sure what I want. I definitely want to use it, because it expires
tomorrow. I'm thinking about getting, like, a sweet treat or something. Let me see what's around.
Thank you so much.
Okay, I landed in Miami. It's a little bit past 10 30 p.m. I also got my bag, which was surprisingly
quick. I'm not complaining, especially considering all the delays. So, my parents are, like, 10-15
minutes away from picking me up. The flight was super chill. I'm not gonna lie, I was sort of
dreading it, because I had the middle seat, but I think the fact that I wasn't tired, like, I didn't
need to sleep, made it super bearable. I was editing, writing, listening to music. It was a super chill,
productive flight, which I always appreciate. One thing I will say, though, about being back in Miami,
I love being home. Like, the airport, like, smells a certain way. Like, it just makes me so happy, but
filming here, like, filming myself for YouTube or for Instagram, is so different than filming myself
in New York. Because in New York, there's, like, a ton of weird stuff going on. Like, this is, like,
the least weird thing happening. But here in Miami, I guess it's, like, less common? I don't know. So, I do
get a lot of looks when I'm filming myself, which is kind of intimidating and, like, different, because,
you know, I'm in New York a lot. So, I just got, like, the funniest phone call ever. About two months ago,
my parents' foster failed a puppy, and they just called me, letting me know that they brought the dog
in the car to pick me up, and she threw up all over my sister. So, they asked me to get some paper towels
from the bathroom, and I just, like, robbed the airport bathroom. Oh my gosh, my poor sister. I'm
really excited to see the puppy, though. I saw her, like, a month ago, and she was really tiny, but
apparently, she's grown a lot since I've last seen her, which makes me kind of sad. She is the cutest
thing, though. Oh my gosh, I'm so out of breath. It's, like, hot and humid, and I also have these two, like,
super heavy bags on top of my super heavy backpack. Not a good combo. They're here.
Home sweet home. My parents use my room as a storage closet while I'm gone. What is this?
What is this? What is this?
It is 1 30 in the morning. I'm just about to go to bed. I decided to unpack all of my bags. So, both my
suitcases are empty. My backpack is empty. I went through all my drawers. I cleaned everything out,
and I, like, really organized everything for the summer. I decided to do this now because, I don't
know, like, I just didn't want to lose the momentum. I feel like when you first get back from a trip,
that's the time to unpack and organize and do your laundry because, at least for me, like, if I don't
do it then it's going to take me a while to do it, and, like, I don't want to do that to myself. Oh my
gosh, I look a disaster. Oh my gosh, I just washed my face. I'm ready for bed, but I had an amazing day
even of all the curveballs that were thrown at us. Thank you so, so much for watching this video.
Stay tuned for more videos, and I'll see you in the next one. I'm gonna get some sleep. I'm gonna
join my puppy over there, and I'll see you in the next one. Good night.
