"Paradox mystery boxes" magic trick revealed and how to make.

Hello there, welcome everybody. It's Don here once more with another amazing magic trick that you can easily make for yourself. A subscriber has asked me on a number of occasions if I'd make the famous goes into or goes into boxes. I've tried before and failed miserably, but this is another attempt and I think we've got it right this time. So should you want to know how the trick is done, but more importantly the sizes of the boxes, then all will be revealed a little later. So let's get on with the trick and we'll see how it works. So I've got a silver box and inside my silver box is a black box. So if I take apart my black box and I put my two halves of the silver box together, I can put my silver box inside the black box, which as you know, is quite impossible. And if I tap the black box and take the top off, there is a ball inside. Okay, so if I carry on, take that away, put the black box together, put that into the silver box once more, and I tap my silver box, we find yet another red ball. Okay, so again, if we take this apart, put this together, put it into this box and then put the box on top. And again, if we tap our finger, we find, oh yes, there's yet another box. Okay, you're not falling asleep yet, oh good. Okay, and again, if we open that, close that, put that inside there, if it'll go in that way round, and put the top on and one last tap, you'll be pleased to hear, we can reveal that there is yet another red ball. There we go. So one box will fit into the other and those four balls appear so from nowhere. There we go, that's the trick. I've performed it as best I can. That's probably the 50th time I've tried, but I think we got there in the end. I think you get the idea. Okay, so should you want to know how to make this with all the necessary sizes, which is the all important thing, the sizes of the box and how to perform the trick, then please watch the rest of the video and you will be informed. To perform this trick, we're going to need some large red foam balls, which I'm still waiting on delivery. In the meantime, I can show you how to make the boxes. Okay, so we've got two small and two large. They fit into each other like so. They're the same size, as you can see, but what has to happen is that that must fit into there. So although they're the same size, one must fit into the other. And not only that, but this smaller box now must take the bigger box like that. So that's what's got to happen. I had no idea how to make, no idea at all how to make it. So I consulted the Oracle or the internet and that was next to useless. There was no or not much information really to know how to make the boxes. So I've had to find out for myself and I shall partake of that information over to you. Okay, so we're going to need two small boxes to start with and I'm going to make them from one and a half millimetre thick cardboard. Any kind of cardboard food packaging will be three quarters of a millimetre thick. So all you've got to do is stick two pieces together and you'll have one and a half millimetre thick cardboard. So for the two smaller boxes, we need a strip of card. That is one and a half. Well, yeah, one and a half millimetre thick or one sixteenth of an inch. And we need a strip that is one and three eighths wide or 35 millimetres wide like that. And then we need two pieces, two inches or 51 millimetres and two pieces, an inch and a half or 38 millimetres. So that's that bit, that's that bit and these two are the sides like that. Okay, and to put them together, if you use this white PVA glue or school glue, if that's the back, that part there and we need to put the sides on like that, just put a very thin film on either end and then a thin film on the edge. And if you wait about 10, 20 seconds or so and then put the sides on like that and just hold them in position for a second or two, they will stay there. Believe me, they will stay there. So that gives you time then to put the top piece on and that will make up the four sides of the box. And then for the bottom, cut a piece of card, the inside dimensions. So that will go like that and like that. Put a piece of PVA glue around the bottom and then just press that down. So you've got the bottom like that, it's flush, flush at the bottom. Okay, and then if you put a couple of elastic bands or rubber bands, get on around like that until the glue is dry. One at the top, one at the bottom, just to hold it in position. That will give you your box and we need two of those. Okay, so now we need the bigger box. So because of the depth of the bottom, which is one and a half millimetres, we need these now to be one and a half millimetres taller to allow for that bottom. So these are going to be just a little bit, this strip for these two boxes is gonna be one and a half millimetres wider. Okay, and then it's going to be whatever size we've got here. So two inches plus the thickness of two pieces of card, which is three millimetres, plus another one and a half or two millimetres to give it a little bit of clearance so that they'll go into each other quite easily. Okay, and then the sides will be again, three millimetres wider. So that's the size then of the bigger box. So with those sizes, that will fit into there like that. And this dimension here now is the inside dimension of this smaller box, which will fit in there like that. And that will go over the top. Okay, that's how to do the boxes. So I've got to pretty them up a bit. One will be black, one will be silver. And then when my red balls arrive, I can come back and show you how the trick works. Okay, so I'll be back in just one moment. So we've got our boxes complete now, painted and decorated. And we can separate our boxes like so, like that. And I've just taken delivery of my big red balls. No sniggering at the back there. And they will fit in turn into the halves of the box like that. So we can put those two together like that. That will squash those balls inside. And then this will fit in there like that. Okay, and then when we part the silver box, we can put the two pieces down like that. Similarly with the black box, just put them down like that so we can't see inside. And if we put the two halves of the silver into the black box, we can show that the big fits inside the small, or the small fits inside the big, or whichever way round. Okay, and then once we've proven we can do that, we can start to reveal the balls. That should be in there. This does take a little bit of practice. But again, put the black box inside the silver box like that. Let's get it on. A tap like that and we can take that off and reveal the first red ball. Okay, and again, try not to show the balls inside like that. And then we can put those two together, put those inside like that. And again, another tap on the box and we can reveal yet another ball. I think you're getting the gist of this. But as we take that out and we can reveal all four balls as we put each box into the next. So I think you're getting the idea. I don't wanna go through the whole routine, it's a bit lengthy. But we will eventually reveal all four balls. Okay, so there we go, that's the trick. So when people reveal, or say they reveal how to do the trick, they don't necessarily reveal how to make the boxes, which is the most important thing, obviously. So we know now the sizes of the box to make, you can adjust them accordingly, of course. But that's generally the principle of the sizes of the box, just as long as that dimension on the end of that box is the same as the inside dimension of the smaller half of the other box like that.
