The Wonders of Ningaloo Reef | Western Australia’s Marine Paradise

Ever since coming to Australia, I wanted to visit this magical place. Spanning 260 km, Ningaloo is the largest fringing reef in the world, and famously home to some of the ocean’s greatest icons.
Whale sharks. The chance to swim with these incredible animals was the sole reason for me to even start a whole WA roadtrip. It was a childhood dream come true, and a feeling I just can’t put into words. A day I’ll never forget. But even Whalesharks aside, we had some absolutely incredible animal encounters: my first Zebra Shark, three different Turtle species, countless Stingrays, and a Manta just to name a few. We’re were also constantly surrounded by the migrating Humpback Whales. I just enjoyed that I was finally able just to go snorkeling directly from the beach and swim through stunning coral formations right from the get go. Ningaloo is an incredible place that might not be as widely known as the Great Barrier Reef, but it delivers unforgettable experiences on its own. The reef might not be as impressive but the insane animal encounters here might just edge out the GBR for me. What a spectacular place 💙💙💙
