health, food, diet food, healthy food Dr. Mike Diamonds' video analyzes the negative impacts of chronic inflammation on the body (causing stubborn belly fat, fatigue, joint pain, and 'brain fog'). To counter this, the doctor provides a detailed list of 10 foods (such as cod liver oil, wild-caught salmon, tart cherries, extra virgin olive oil, blueberries, etc.) that help reduce inflammation from the inside at a cellular level, thereby supporting the fat loss process and improving overall health.

10 foods you should eat every day to reduce your inflammation, to lose fat fast. Now,
when people hear the word inflammation, you're thinking a sore throat, swollen ankle, swollen
knee, or swollen eye. So, let's think about the swollen knee. It's hard to walk, you're limping,
you can't even run, the body part doesn't work properly. That kind of inflammation is your body
doing exactly what it should. It shows up, it does its job, and then it goes away. But, there's
another kind of inflammation that never fully switches off, the low-level kind. It's a quiet
kind of inflammation, running in the background, and it's this noise that's constant. You can't
feel it directly. Essentially, internally, all of your organs aren't working as well as they should.
Stubborn belly fat that won't shift no matter what you eat. And then, you have these energy
crashes in the afternoon, and you don't even know why. You're sleeping poorly, and you're tired all
the time. No idea why. Your brain is foggy. You can't remember things, or it's hard to really
think past two steps. Your joints ache, like your knees and your back, more than it's supposed to.
And then, this is the worst part. The metabolism that feels that it's working against you at every
turn, no matter what you do. This is chronic inflammation, and it is one of the most underrated
drivers of overall health, especially for people above the age of 35. And today, I'm going to give
you 10 foods that directly target it. Bring your inflammation down, so that you can lose that
stubborn belly fat easily. And the first one on this list, most people never even considered as a
food, but the research is incredible. I'm so excited for you to use this. It sits in a lot
of people's medicine cabinet, rather than your kitchen. And in one study, the people using this
food got a 34% bigger drop in their main blood marker for inflammation than most people even
note. This is the stuff that my clients pay thousands for. To be able to get this result,
I'm going to give you all game for free. By the way, my name is Dr. Michael Diamonds. I'm a medical
doctor. I'm a scientist. I have a degree in biochemistry and microbiology, also a pro-natural
bodybuilder. I'm the founder of Scott by Science, where me and my team work with clients every
single day to bring their inflammation down and to lose the fat fast. So, let's not waste any time
and dive straight in. Food number one, cod liver oil. Cod liver oil is arguably one of the most
powerful anti-inflammatory foods available. And here's why it's different than the other omega-3
sources on this list. Regular fish has something that has EPA and DHA, the two omega-3 fatty acids
your body needs to produce anti-inflammatory compounds. But get this, cod liver oil gives
you EPA, DHA, plus it gives you vitamin D, vitamin A, and vitamin E, all four working together. And
that combination appears to be the reason why cod liver oil outperforms all other omega-3 fat
sources, especially when it comes to inflammation on the research. I want you to remember this word
CRP. That stands for C-reactive protein. This is the blood marker that us doctors use to measure
inflammation in your body. This is like the blood marker. Now, in a study with more than 1,000
recreational athletes published in the Journal of International Society of Sports Nutrition,
researchers measured CRP before and after a 91-kilometer cycling race, right? So they
measured inflammation before they did 91ks on a bike and after. The cod liver oil users
specifically had a 34% lower CRP response compared to people taking no omega-3 at all. The effects
was only clearly present in cod liver oil users, not the other sources. And essentially what the
researchers think is that vitamins D, A, and E in cod liver oil are doing something fish oil alone
cannot. It's either protecting the omega-3s from being oxidized and being rendered useless before
they can do their job, or it's adding its own anti-inflammatory effects on top of that. Cod
liver oil is not old-fashioned. It is one of the oldest evidence-based anti-inflammatory tools
available. So how to implement this? One teaspoon of high-quality cod liver oil daily. You can take
it with food to minimize any digestive discomfort. Look for the brand that is third-party tested. It
should be stored in a dark bottle so that it can protect it from heat and light. And if you can't
tolerate the taste, maybe it tastes like, let me not say that, but maybe it doesn't taste nice.
High-quality cod liver oil capsules deliver the same benefit. So let me know in the comments,
did you ever use cod liver oil or did you even know it was ever this powerful for inflammation?
And stay with me, because food number two targets inflammation through a completely different route,
and it is one of the richest sources of anti-inflammatory compounds in any food on the
planet. Wild caught salmon. Salmon on this list is a fundamental reason why I even talked about
cod liver oil in the beginning. The omega-3 fatty acids, specifically the EPA and the DHA,
your body produces two signaling compounds from the fats that you eat. It produces pro-inflammatory
ones that turn inflammation up, and anti-inflammatory ones that turn it down. The
ratio of omega-3s to omega-6 in your diet determines what way this balance tips. Now,
most modern diets are heavily loaded with omega-6 fats. These are the unhealthy fats from processed
foods, seed oils, grain-fed meat. So when omega-6 intake is high, your body produces more pro-inflammatory
compounds than the anti-inflammatory ones. Essentially, your car alarm is sounding off,
and the EPA and the DHA from salmon compete directly against those omega-6 fats. They get
built into your cell membranes and shift the balance. More anti-inflammatory compounds get
produced. The car alarm starts to quiet down, and there are human trials that consistently show
that regular fatty fish intake lowers the CRP that we talked about. Wild caught salmon,
specifically, because it's wild, contains significantly higher concentrations of omega-3s
when they farm it. How to implement this? We need two to three servings per week of salmon,
mackerel, or sardines, or you could have one of each. These are the most practical and the most
affordable sources of this EPA and DHA. Number three, tart cherries. This one surprises so many people.
It earns its place on this list. It is genuinely compelling. So tart cherries contain a natural
compound called anthocyanins. Anthocyanins, essentially, is that pigment that give cherries,
blueberries, strawberries, raspberries that deep red purpley color. They do two specific things to
chronic inflammation. Number one, they dampen that same inflammatory pathway like ibuprofen. It's not
the exact same mechanism. Through a route that produces a similar end result, we get less
production of pro-inflammatory compounds, and then we keep the alarm going. The second, they lower
uric acid. Now, what is uric acid? Uric acid is a waste byproduct that happens when it breaks down
certain foods. So when it builds up in the blood, it triggers inflammatory response throughout the
body, not just in your joints where you usually feel it. Now, there's actually a four-week randomized
control trial, and it found that daily tart cherries produced a 23% reduction in CRP and get
this, a 37% reduction in plasma uric acid compared to the placebo in healthy adults. Both inflammatory
markers came down, driving them both down at the same time. Tart cherry concentrate is the most
practical daily option. So what I want you to do, use one to two tablespoons of tart cherry juice
concentrate and have that in your water daily. And look for the concentrate with no added sugar.
Now, frozen tart cherries blend into a smoothie. Those are good. Those are an amazing whole food
alternative if you can get them. Food number four, extra virgin olive oil. It contains a powerful
compound called oleacanthel. Oleacanthel is a natural anti-inflammatory compound that works
through the same biological pathway as ibuprofen. Literally the same pathway. So essentially, when
researchers first identified this oleacanthel, they noticed that the fresh extra virgin olive oil
produced that same peppery burn in the back of the throat as ibuprofen. It was actually a
researcher took this olive oil in Italy, and then he was like, that's familiar. And he researched
ibuprofen thoroughly. That's how he found the link. Now, that's a whole other story. That burn that you
get behind your throat, hitting the same receptors that ibuprofen hits. And just like ibuprofen,
oleacanthel blocks the enzymes that produce pro-inflammatory compounds in your body. So every
tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil you use delivers a small consistent dose of a natural
anti-inflammatory system to your body. So the key word here is extra virgin. Now, the regular olive
oil goes through processing. It destroys that beneficial oleacanthel. So the ones I want you
to get is the cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil. And this keeps your anti-inflammatory benefits.
So what to do? Replace that vegetable oil, the seed oils that you're cooking with, and rather
use the extra virgin olive oil. You can, even more beneficially, you can use it as a base for your
salad dressing. Drizzle it over, right? You can also have some lemon and vinegar in there. Extra
virgin olive oil should be in a dark bottle. It should be away from heat. And you want to see
if it has a harvest date. Number five, it's the fermented foods. The sauerkraut, the kimchi,
the kefir, the plain yogurt with cultures. And another one on this list is actually kombucha.
These belong on here because they do amazing things to your gut. And what happens to your
gut directly has a measurable effect to your inflammation markers throughout your whole body.
70% of your immune system lives in and around your gut. So essentially, the community of bacteria
in your digestive system, we call this, this community, your gut microbiome. They talk
directly to your immune system. So when your microbiome is diverse, think of you have all
these different bacteria living good ones that help you. Your immune system is strong and it's
calm. And there's research from the respected Stanford University, and they ran a randomized
control trial. And this trial was published in the Journal of Salt in 2021, and they tested this
36 healthy adults were randomly assigned to either a high fermented food diet or a high fiber
diet for 10 weeks. The fermented food group showed an increase in microbiome diversity,
right? Obviously, because they're including all these good bacteria in all their foods,
and they had a reduced level of 19 different inflammatory proteins in their blood,
including the one I was telling you earlier, interleukin-6. Four types of immune cells show
less activation. And this part is the most surprising. The high fiber group showed almost
none of these effects. Fermented foods beat fiber for reducing inflammation every time. Eat at least
one serving of fermented food every single day. For example, plain yogurt with live cultures in
there at breakfast. Or you can have a small serving of sauerkraut or kimchi at your lunch
or your dinner or both. And you can rotate between the different foods, the one you enjoy, right?
Because they can bring different good cultures of bacteria to your gut. But let's jump on to
food number six. Turmeric with black pepper. So turmeric has been used in traditional medicine
for thousands of years. It contains a compound called curcumin. And curcumin is essentially
what gives turmeric that deep yellow color. Curcumin is one of the most studied natural
anti-inflammatory compounds available. It works by blocking a molecule called NF-kappa-B. It's
essentially this on switch for inflammation in your cells. When it's switched on, essentially
your pro-inflammatory compounds are being turned on. But curcumin blocks this. The signal that
produces the compound gets interrupted. The car alarm gets switched off from the source. The
downside is this. Curcumin, that compound, it's poorly absorbed. Your body takes it up. But black
pepper contains a compound called purpurine. And that can increase your curcumin absorption by, get
this, 2000%. Turmeric without black pepper is a fraction as useful as turmeric with it. Add a half
a teaspoon of that turmeric powder and have some black pepper added to your eggs, right? You can
add it to your soup or maybe your warm milk every day. But that combination with some fat and black
pepper together is essentially what will boost your curcumin absorption. Number seven, blueberries.
They have to have their place on this list because of the decrease of your oxidative stress. And
here's what oxidative stress matters to us, why it does, especially to our inflammation. Oxidative
stress is essentially cellular damage that is caused by unstable molecules called free radicals.
Think of rust forming on metal. When your oxidative stress is high, it directly triggers inflammation
responses throughout the entire body. So more rust means more alarm bells, right? More alarm bells
mean more chronic inflammation. Blueberries contain a compound, the highest concentration of polyphenols,
this natural compound of any food available. And the polyphenols are among the most effective
natural compounds for neutralizing the rust, the free radicals, and reducing oxidative stress. It's
like an anti-rust. So think of this as the rust inhibitor, the rust stopper. And studies in humans
consistently show that blueberries reduce oxidative stress and improve the inner lining of your blood
vessels. What you should do, have a handful of berries. Frozen is also perfect. Add it to your
kefir, add them to your Greek yogurt, or just have them straight as a snack. Food number eight,
walnuts. An extremely powerful anti-inflammatory nut. And they work through three separate pathways
at once. The first is alpha linoleic acid, aka ALA. It's essentially the plant-based form of
omega-3s. And ALA is as potent as EPNDHA that you find usually in your salmon or the cod liver oil,
like I talked about earlier. It also adds meaningful support and it's consistent every day.
Walnuts contain something called elegatinins, a type of polyphenol that your gut bacteria converts
into another compound called urolithin. Now, urolithin has a real anti-inflammatory activity.
They are one of the reasons that walnuts stand out. The third thing walnuts provide is vitamin E,
one of the most important and powerful soluble antioxidants that your body uses. And essentially
protects your cell's membrane and it protects your cell as well from rust. And it works alongside
omega-3s, right, bringing down inflammation. So I want you to think of walnuts as a strong daily
habit that supports wider anti-inflammation. It's not going to be this magic bullet that's going to
bring down your CRP like the first one. So in your diet you can have a handful of walnuts, 30 grams
max every day. You can add it to your oats, to your yogurt, to your salad. You can have the walnuts raw,
you can have them roasted. But we don't need the salted flavored ones and please don't overeat the
walnuts because it's so easy to overshoot them. The next one on this list is green tea, baby. It's
been on a healthy food list for decades. But most people don't understand how it functions with
bringing down inflammation and helping you lose belly fat easily. What compound it contains is
something called EGCG and that stands for epigallatocatechin galli. And this type of
compound essentially is a catechin and it has high concentration in these green tea leaves. Is that
it blocks the same NF-kappa B pathway that we talked about in curcumin, the on switch for
inflammation in your cells. When EGCG blocks that NF-kappa B, the production of pro-anti-inflammatory
compounds slows down. The effect is more pronounced in people who do already have this
pronounced elevated inflammation markers, rather than people who have a low baseline. Which means
the people who really need it are the ones who are heavily infringed. So two to three cups brewed
daily and you can also just have the entire leaf on its own aka matcha, right? But don't put it in
boiling water. It should be around 80 degrees. If it's way too hot, you'll break down that EGCG that
we need. So another reason why the Japanese are living so long. It's like a superfood. 10. The
final food on this list. One Brazil nut a day. Just one. So here's why. Brazil nuts are the single
richest food in selenium on the planet. One Brazil nut contains 70 to 80 micrograms of selenium. Now
usually the recommendation is 55 micrograms. One nut exceeds it. What's the connection between
inflammation and this walnut? Selenium is not optional for an anti-inflammatory system. Ladies
and gentlemen, it is required. Your body produces its own anti-inflammatory enzyme called selenoprotein.
And selenium is the mineral that those enzymes are literally built on. When you don't have enough
selenium in your body, you cannot produce enough of those enzymes that keep your chronic inflammation
in check. So think of selenium as this raw material that your body needs to build its own
anti-inflammatory wall. And without it, you can't build those tools. And research on this is consistent.
Low selenium equals higher level of inflammation markers. But please don't eat more than two or
three Brazil nuts per day. Because essentially too much selenium can be toxic. So just one
is the sweet spot. Two, we're pushing it. But just keep it there. So one Brazil nut a day. Keep them
in the fridge. And this will stop that healthy fat from going rancid. You can add this to your
morning yogurt. Or just have it straight with your coffee in the morning. Those are the 10 foods. I
need you to eat them consistently. Not occasionally. Add one to your diet every day. And you'll notice
this cumulative effect show up. Where your body feels lighter. You're training more. And all of
the hard work you're putting is starting to pay off all of a sudden. And you sleep better. You're
covering better. You don't feel pain anymore. If you want to know exactly how chronic inflammation
is showing up in your blood work right now. And what specific numbers mean. And your fat
