The Child of Propaganda
"The Child of Propaganda" tells the story of someone who grew up surrounded by political slogans, manufactured heroes, and forbidden questions.
As a child, they believed everything their teachers, the media, and the ruling party told them. Only as an adult do they uncover forgotten names, hidden letters, and the painful truth behind their parents' silence.
The song explores how propaganda shapes not only what people know, but also their memories, their families, and their ability to think independently. It is both a warning and a call to keep asking questions.

The Child of Propaganda
As a child, their flag hung over my door,
Heroes on the wall stood watch evermore.
My teacher said, "Never question the way,
The Party leads us forward every day."
We sang their songs with our hands held high,
Painted red suns across the sky.
I believed every word—they all seemed right,
How could truth be anything but bright?
[Pre-Chorus]
Yet some names never appeared in the pages,
Some questions belonged to silent cages.
And behind every shining promise made,
I heard a quiet silence wrapped in shade.
I was the child of propaganda,
Built from slogans, fear, and lies.
They painted all the world in their colors,
Till I could no longer see with my own eyes.
I was the child of propaganda,
But now I finally see.
The heroes weren't always heroes,
And so much they told us wasn't reality.
My father fell silent when the radio spoke,
My mother said nothing after every broadcast.
I never knew why she'd close every window
Whenever someone whispered of freedom at last.
A neighbor disappeared without a trace,
They only said, "He betrayed our place."
His empty chair stayed there every night,
But no one dared to speak of his plight.
Years went by—I found old letters,
Names and photographs stained with tears.
Every line tore open another wound
In the world I'd carried through the years.
I was the child of propaganda,
Built from slogans, fear, and lies.
They painted all the world in their colors,
Till I could no longer see with my own eyes.
I was the child of propaganda,
But now I finally see.
The heroes weren't always heroes,
And so much they told us wasn't reality.
How many children still stand today
Before those same old pictures on the wall?
How many learn to silence themselves
Before their own thoughts can even call?
I can't bring back the years they've taken,
But I can finally raise my voice.
Every lie begins to lose its power
When people dare to make the truth their choice.
We were the children of propaganda,
Trapped by slogans, fear, and lies.
They painted all our world in their colors,
Till no one could see the truth with their own eyes.
We were the children of propaganda,
But now we finally see.
No leader, no party, no waving banner
Can ever make a lie become reality.
I was the child of propaganda,
But that child won't stay silent anymore.
I'll carry my questions into tomorrow,
And I'll never surrender my voice anymore.
