So let me let me go back to the all-star game with you bobby 27 strikeouts I didn't watch it. I don't know anything about that Okay, well You okay. So wait a minute something that you loved your entire life. You're not watching the all-star game So you've lost interest in the all-star game Yeah, of course. I see those guys play every day, you know Um, you know if I want to see them on tv to watch in an exhibition, uh That's not my cup of tea I have other things that i'd rather do so, um, yeah All-star game in baseball, you know If they if they paid the players a lot of money if they won then there might be an incentive the idea of uh You know home field advantage in a world series. That's ridiculous When it was pride and uh, you know meant a lot You know win or lose american league national league when there was such a thing as an american league in a national league I thought that was a fun Uh situation, but you know, just the uh, you know guys throwing fast and swinging hard Again, isn't my cup of tea What was the all you know when I grew up? I I mean parker and right throwing downing out at the plate reggie off the light tower These were things I grew up with bobby that were signature things that I grew up because I waited for that all-star game When did baseball lose that? That that signature moment for that event in your opinion Was it interleague play that hurt that game so much so that that game like you just said? Hey, i'd rather watch the dodgers maybe a couple weeks from now. What happened to that all-star game? Is it because of interleague play? uh, possibly probably yeah, um I I don't know what lost it, you know in 2001. I managed it in seattle Uh, it was a big thrill managing the all-star game when I got there and I saw the the lack of uh, competition of uh, of you know, the win factor had nothing to do with anything and it was disappointing to me to tell you the truth and uh, you know, they they these games, um Need to fix somehow if you want true competition, but it's hard to ask these guys to to You know ante up and rev it on up just to To play a game that's in some city and instead of having off days you're traveling instead of being with your family Uh and relaxing you're playing. Um It's it's a different world these days Boy, i'll tell you what. I never thought i'd hear bobby valentine say I have no interest in the all-star game. All right
