Video Summary
AI GeneratedThe hosts of \"Blinded by the Item\" analyze celebrity blind items to uncover the identities of stars involved in scandals. The discussion covers Howard Stern's controversial severance agreements, Victoria Beckham's strategic PR maneuvers, and rumors surrounding Ariana Grande. They also examine production conflicts involving Ed Harris on the set of *Dutton Ranch*.
Welcome to Blinded by the Item, juicy bits of gossip with the names left out.
I'm Dawn McLean and that's Bradley Traynor over there and then most
importantly there's Mike Ganger. He gives us blind items from the internet,
celebrity gossip, we try to guess who he's talking about. That's the name of
the game and thank you for joining us. Whether you're on YouTube, we would love
you to like and subscribe and hype our videos. Yas Queen, we were in the top 100
of hyped videos. Oh my gosh, that's amazing for podcasts. Yes, thank you for
doing that, continue to do that and we're so close to 9,000 followers. If you could
just get us there, maybe tell a friend or if you're currently watching you're
like, oh I've never subscribed to this before, please do so and please and thank
you. We've officially hit the point where my mom said to me yesterday, I
don't know how to hype the video but I tried to figure it out so why don't you
remind people how to hype the video. So you have to either be on like an iPad, a tablet or a
mobile device to be able to do it and it'll tell you like, I think you can hype
three videos a week. Okay. So you just choose us and then it goes into your
hype list and other people can see it so it gives a spotlight to us. So mom, you
got to stop hyping all those anime videos that you've been hyping and just
save your hypes for us. She is a big anime fan. Really? No. Oh, okay. I'm sorry. Look at how gullible I am.
Gullible? Well, to be fair. Trying to pick the most random thing that you know. Yeah. Because I've gotten you to believe some
really bizarre things. Yeah, it is really an affliction that I have. Well, speaking of
believing some bizarre things, let's get into some blind items. YouTube is a gossip
but the names left out. Let's start with this first one here on this wonderful
Tuesday. To thank their longtime employees, this permanent A-lister is
offering severance pay. The only requirement is the employee needs to
remove all references on their social media that they worked for the A-lister.
They don't want anyone trading on their name. They truly are an awful human being.
Oh. To thank their longtime employees, this permanent A-lister is offering
severance pay. The only requirement is the employees need to remove all
reference of working for the A-lister from their social media. They don't want
people trading on their name. They are truly an awful human being. According to
the blind items. So it's like, yeah, you can get a little money because I screwed
up but you can't talk about me? Is that kind of what? Just the idea that you
worked for me for so long but if you're gonna use me as a stepping stone to your
next career or use me as another, yeah, you just, I don't want you doing that.
Which doesn't make a lot of sense. No. But again, the blind item is the blind item.
Okay. Was it Diddy? No. Okay.
Permanent A-lister offering severance pay to longtime employees.
Okay, is this a business person or is this more like a famous person with a big staff?
There you go. More of the latter. Okay, so it's not like, you know, Jeff Bezos.
No. Famous person with a big staff.
That's getting smaller.
Well, they truly are an awful human being. It leads me to believe they're,
they would be on my creep list. I don't think this person's on your creep list.
They may have been at one time. They're not now.
Oh, because we all love, we love them again. This person had, and still to this day,
somehow has had just a wildly shocking PR rehabilitation throughout the years,
mostly because they're just super talented. But if you watch some of the stuff they did
years ago, they would be on your creep list. Gone.
So again, to thank their longtime employees that no longer work for them,
this permanent A-lister is offering them severance pay.
The only requirement is those employees need to remove all references of,
on their social media that they worked for the A-lister.
He doesn't want them trading on his name and they are truly,
he is truly an awful human being. This, of course, is the blind item talking.
Maybe there was a shakeup recently with a permanent A-lister.
A shakeup?
Changing things up. He had a big old staff, has a smaller staff now.
Tyler Perry?
Bradley, don't laugh every time I say that, please.
I know, well, I mean, it sounds like a wiener joke.
What'd you say? What wiener joke?
Every time I say he has a large staff that's now a smaller staff, he laughs.
And it's getting smaller?
Okay. All right.
I have the mind of a child.
It's not Tyler Perry. Okay.
This is not Howard Stern.
Yeah, it is.
Oh.
Oh, good job.
Well, I've seen a story, but Mike Shirley will tell us what that is.
According to the blind items, to thank his long-time employees,
Howard Stern has said, yeah, we'll give you severance pay.
The only problem is you have to remove, or the only way you're going to get it,
though, is you have to remove any reference that you worked for me
from your social media.
They don't want, Howard doesn't want people trading on his name.
He's truly an awful human being.
Again, the blind item talking, not me.
Yeah, not the, this is.
But this has been a conversation in the blinds.
I don't even think Howard would be surprised by that.
But especially on the heels of this other, there was a battle back and forth.
Oh, I just remember the cats.
Well, there was the cats.
Like the staff members.
Yeah, the assistant who was complaining about having to manage a bunch of cats
because his wife's cat sanctuary is just like in their house.
Yeah, or something like that.
And he was saying, basically, she was just trying to get a bunch of money.
So this sounds like it's very in the same vein.
Like people are saying he's, I just said vain.
Is that what you're reacting to?
Finally, you showed up to the wiener jokes.
Yeah, I try to get all that dirty stuff out of my mind, you know.
Why?
We need that.
Sometimes it's hard to do, but.
That's what you do sometimes.
Okay, so is this a different controversy from what we just said?
Yeah, so he's reducing his staff because he is dropping from a doing a daily show
to now is going to be doing a weekly show.
I think there's like, isn't this, is that still with Sirius XM or now is it?
Okay, gotcha.
It's the only reason why we have it in one of our cars.
Yeah, I will say, well, that's, I think the only reason most people have it in their cars.
And they know that.
Yeah.
Like Sirius is like, whatever you want, just don't leave.
Yeah, it's the Howard Stern Sirius XM channel.
I saw the headline about going to one a week and I thought good for him.
Yeah.
I mean, for, you know, knowing what he wants to do and making it happen.
He's worked so hard in his life for so long.
And he has had a cushy deal since he, you know, left traditional radio.
They've given them pretty much him anything that he wanted.
And now he's like off for three months at a time.
I mean, it's.
Yeah.
It's very much the Johnny Carson, Jay Leno experience.
Right.
He's basically since 2004 made right around $100 million a year.
Since 2004.
His first deal with Sirius was in 2004.
It was a five-year $500 million deal.
He re-upped in 2020 for a five-year deal reportedly between $450 to $500.
So essentially the same.
And now most recently has a three-year shorter contract where he's only going to be working
once a week.
That one is still expected to be around $33 million a year.
So he's definitely a billionaire.
Oh, yeah.
Many times.
Which is why you're going to attract a certain amount of blind item.
For sure.
Gossip.
And I also think you are going to be perceived as the bad guy to a lot of people.
It's just the name of the game.
When you literally were like the bad guy of all media back in the day.
And you did some things when we watch it back now.
Little problematic.
But I think also there's an awareness.
I mean, I think he's gotten through unscathed in a way that a lot of people didn't.
So I'm sure he's grateful for that.
But you also do sense, I mean, at least in his projection.
On his show, he does seem to, yes, acknowledge that, you know,
some of the things that they used to do were awful.
You know, I mean, he I don't think that he would argue with that.
It just there's no excuse.
But it was a different time.
And it was like the popularity was just so hypercharged that if you opposed him in any way
whatsoever, then you were the bad guy.
Then you were the celebrity that got talked about.
And like, how dare you go against Howard Stern?
You're just can we be fair?
That's not just a Howard Stern problem.
Sure.
That was a media problem because you've worked in radio for a few years.
Yes, many since I was 19.
We've seen that behavior before.
I've worked on, you know, like active rock stations.
That's the format.
And, you know, it's like it's targeting men.
And it's like we had, you know, strippers in the studio every Friday
that were completely nude on our webcams while I was trying to do news reports.
And they would just grind all over me.
That's an example.
Nudes reports.
Yeah, nudes.
If you didn't call them nudes spelled N-E-W-D-E-S.
I don't know.
I know.
Here's the news.
And this is why when you have a Gen X woman in your life and you complain about the world as it
is today, like I just ask her to tell you a story.
I mean, it's just like sometimes I'm like, yeah, that happened.
You know, I was forced to be in a dunk tank and a bikini several times.
And, you know, guys are gross.
They're the worst.
I'm sorry.
Well, it's also yes.
Sure.
Guys are gross.
But also, I think the lesson a lot of us have learned is like guys with unfettered
power and privilege.
Yeah.
Supremely bad because nobody's checking their egos anywhere.
All right.
Let's keep it rolling on with some more blind items here.
Let's go to this one.
It was a PR masterclass for this multi-hyphenated A-lister.
She was never going to show up to the friend celebration, but by contributing in the way
she did, she changed the search results in her favor.
Oh, this was a PR masterclass for this multi-hyphenated A-lister.
She was I should throw in a foreign born multi-hyphenated A-lister in there.
She was never going to show up to her friend celebration, but by contributing in the way
she did, she has forever changed the search results in her favor.
Foreign born.
Okay.
Does that mean just her name?
She has several names or she's like actor, singer, dancer?
It's that.
It's the latter.
She does lots of things.
Okay.
She's a multi-talented lady and she's a friend of Taylor Swift.
No.
Oh, it's not the Tay-Tay.
That is not the celebration we're talking about.
But.
Is it the World Cup?
No.
Okay.
It was a wedding.
Oh, Matt Healy.
Uh, no.
Who else got married?
Oh.
And I will just say the World Cup was involved.
It was involved.
Because this it was a PR masterclass for this foreign born multi-hyphenated A-lister.
She was never going to show up to her friend celebration, her friend's wedding, but by
contributing in the way she did, she has forever changed the search results in her favor.
Is she an influencer?
Hunger Games?
No.
Okay.
Like she sang a song for the friend?
But they got, this couple got married during the World Cup.
Which is why she wasn't there.
Because this multi-hyphenated A-lister who's foreign born was at the World Cup.
Shakira?
But somebody who performed at.
But somebody who was there.
And when you put the connection together, you realize why she was there and why she
was always going to be there.
Oh, because she is dating one of the soccer stars.
Um.
Is she married?
She's married to a former soccer star.
Oh, soccer star.
Soccer star.
It's not Blake Lively.
She's a soccer owner.
Soccer star.
She was married?
She is.
Oh, so this is.
She is married to a former soccer star.
One of the best.
Okay.
So.
Cristiano Ronaldo?
Yes.
Yeah, we know Messi and Ronaldo.
No, you know one other one.
I do?
Oh, you mean, um.
You know one other one.
David Beckham.
And we're talking about.
Victoria?
But who's the wedding?
Is Victoria supposed to be multi-hyphenated?
I mean, model, businesswoman, singer, dancer.
I mean, she does lots of things.
What?
She's got some feelings over there you'd like to share.
I think that's a stretch, but we won't blame Mike because that's a.
She's got the king and queen in her back and you can blame me on that one.
Oh, you did.
You wrote it.
Well, yeah, she does a lot of things, but does she do them well?
Well, I never said that.
I'm saying she's multi-hyphenated.
Yes, but it was a PR masterclass for Victoria Beckham.
She was never going to show up to this friend's wedding, but by contributing in the way she did,
she forever changed the search results in her favor.
Is it Mel C?
Oh, no.
You know how she contributed to Mel C's wedding?
No, but I know that she got married.
Are you ready for the petty of all pettiness?
Truly of always.
She contributed her wedding dress.
What do we know about wedding dresses and Victoria Beckham?
Every time you Google Victoria Beckham and wedding dress,
you see the drama around her and Nicola Peltz.
Now when you Google it, you see her and her good friend Mel C and how generous she was.
She said, you can wear my wedding dress.
Yes, so that they can start myself for six years.
And I love that you're you're attributing that to her people.
That's like an SEO person on her staff was like,
actually, I have a really good way to get search results to point.
So says it's a PR masterclass.
I get that was her.
Yeah.
OK, so remind me, though, did she try to get Nicola to wear her dress?
That's where all the controversy went down where Nicola Peltz.
It was around.
She was supposed to do the wedding dress and then didn't Victoria say what happened?
What's wrong?
Type in Victoria Beckham wedding.
Yep.
Mel C.
See?
Yeah.
So the stink is off of her when it comes to trying to force her
daughter-in-law to wear her wedding dress.
Her son, which is kind of creepy.
She wore a custom wedding dress, a stunning dress.
The dress was yeah.
Sorry, that wasn't the feud began when she was painted as a brat for not wearing
Victoria Beckham's wedding dress.
So Victoria offered the dress.
Yeah.
Nicola said, no, thank you.
I think I forgot about that because of just what happened at the wedding is now overshadowed.
You know, if she put that level of expertise into actual
relationship management with her family.
Yeah.
Being a mom.
Well, yeah.
Well done.
That is.
Yeah.
Whoever did that deserves their Christmas bonus.
This year.
There you go.
Yeah.
The big she was obviously at the World Cup final.
And that is when Mel C.
God, that's kind of genius.
Now I want to do that for like, I'm going to put that in our PR because Don and I, I
don't know if you guys know this, but like if this whole blind item thing doesn't work
out, we're going to open up our.
Yeah, we have.
Publicity firm.
BDEPR.
PR.
And one of our tools will be, hey, if there's a bad, you know, story about you, we'll just
flip the script.
Yeah, flip it.
So you got caught cheating with your pants down.
Yep.
We're going to have you donate a bunch of pants to children in need.
So if you type in, you know, Tori spelling pants, it's not going to be about your pants
being, it's going to be about your pants donation.
Tori spelling the word pants.
It's just a video where we're going P-A-N-T-S because she's spelling pants.
Well done.
Okay, let's keep it going.
We'll work on that.
That's good.
I like it.
Keep it going with some more blind items.
Be sure to like and subscribe.
Jump into the comments and give us your thoughts on all of these wonderful blind items we're
talking about.
Hype up the video as well and then put in the comments and let my mom know how to do
it.
This former A-List actor who was at his height as a preteen really stepped in it late last
year, making his former A-List wife seem like a monster.
Well, with her about to be thrusted back into the brightest of lights, he is continuing
to talk glowingly to anybody who will give him a microphone.
Her PR team has to, of course, approve all of these appearances now.
This former A-Lister who was at his height as a preteen really stepped in it late last
year, making his former A-List wife seem like a monster.
Well, with her about to be thrusted back into the brightest of lights, he is continuing
to talk glowingly to anybody who will give him a microphone.
Her PR team has to, of course, approve all of these appearances now.
So we have a former A-Lister who was at his height as a preteen.
It's not Shia LaBeouf, is it?
No.
So he was squawking and said something that came across like, oh, did you think about
that before you said it out loud about your wife?
Yeah, he made his former A-List actress wife seem like a monster.
He's not an actor, though.
He is.
Oh, he is an actor.
Yes.
So he was at his height.
So we've got a former A-List actor who was at his height as a preteen saying his former
A-List wife was a monster, or at least made it sound like she was.
Well, she's about to be thrusted back into the brightest of lights.
So he's continuing to talk about her glowingly with anyone who will give him a microphone.
Her PR team, of course, has to approve all these appearances now.
And to clarify, they're still married?
Yes.
Okay.
So that's why he's invested in like, this time I'm not going to screw it up.
Exactly.
Oh, okay.
Now I need to switch.
I thought you meant ex-wife.
Yeah.
Well, because the ex was about her career, it sounded like, until now.
Making his former A-List wife.
So she is still his wife, but she is also former A-List.
I see.
That's where the confusion was.
It makes sense.
Okay.
Is this like Spencer Pratt?
Again, a former A-List actor who was at his height before he was 18.
Before he was 18.
TV show?
No.
Oh, you hesitated.
A movie.
I did.
Spy Kids?
No.
Nothing to do with Meghan Trainor.
Yeah.
He's a big boy.
Big boy.
That's a big boy.
If anyone doesn't know, Meghan Trainor, much like Howard Stern, has a large staff.
Has a very large staff of employees.
He's a big boy.
Okay.
Were they on a show together as teens?
That's a really good question.
No.
Okay.
They were not as teens.
And he was more in movies like a franchise of sorts?
No, because keep in mind, this was a little while back.
He was pre-teen at this point.
Not like Macaulay Culkin.
Nope.
Earlier than that.
Oh, oh, oh?
What?
No, it's not.
Earlier than Macaulay Culkin.
Well, earlier than his success, than his biggest success.
So we're not talking about like Stand By Me.
Yeah, we are.
Oh, yeah.
So then we are talking about, what's his name?
Cutie Pie.
But not Cutie Pie.
I mean, I wouldn't call him cute.
I think you'd call this guy cute.
Oh, Will Wheaton?
No.
Um, go through the cast.
I mean, Corey Feldman.
Corey Feldman is who I was thinking of.
Okay, but then there's like Chris O'Donnell.
Not Chris O'Donnell.
Oh, um, no.
I dinged the last name though.
O'Donnell.
Oh, sorry, not O'Donnell.
O'Connell.
There you go.
Chris O'Connell.
Not Chris though.
It's his brother.
No.
No?
Donald O'Conner.
Okay, hold on.
O'Connell.
Jerry O'Connell.
There you go.
Oh, yes.
Married to Rebecca Romijn.
O'Donnell.
O'Connell.
Oh, then Chris.
No, that's O'Donnell.
Whose brother was on The Bachelor?
Sherry O'Terry.
What?
Chris O'Donnell's brother on The Bachelor.
Got it.
Did not know that.
I think so.
Okay, correct me if I'm wrong in the comments.
It looks like his only brother listed here is John O'Donnell.
Political journalist.
He also has a sibling, Sally O'Donnell, who's an actress.
But let's go back to not Chris O'Donnell, but instead Jerry O'Connell.
Jerry O'Connell.
And his wife.
What about Rosie O'Donnell?
And his wife, Rebecca Romijn.
Well, according to the Blind Items late last year, and not actually part of the Blind Items,
but Jerry O'Connell really kind of stepped in it, who had his biggest success with like
Stand By Me when he was like 11 or something.
But he made Rebecca Romijn kind of feel like a monster late last year in a bit of a PR
nightmare situation.
Well, she's about to be thrusted back into the brightest of lights, and he continues
to talk glowingly about anybody who will give him a mic.
Her PR team, though, has to approve every appearance.
Because this was on that podcast, right?
What did he say?
It was late last year.
It had to do with, we won't get too much into it, it had to do with politics.
And he basically, I think, just had a differing take or offered a different perspective than
his family agreed to.
And he basically alluded to the fact that his wife beat him.
I see.
Okay.
Well, I'm glad we're not going into it because we didn't talk about politics.
But exactly.
I'll look at it later.
But again, it's not really the crux of what he said or what he believed.
It was just the idea that he gave a differing opinion than his wife, and the result was
physical violence.
And the takeaway was, you know.
Now, he's since then kind of said, I was just going for the bit, looking to have a
little fun.
Now he's on podcast talking about every ex he's ever had.
Well, and wasn't that at a time that she, like, was doing something?
She's about to be thrusted back into the brightest of lights because, of course, she's going
to be in what movie?
That's the next part of the blind item, then.
You haven't figured it out yet.
What role is Rebecca Romijn about to do?
Oh, X-Men?
I don't know.
Yeah.
Okay.
The X-Men appearing in Avengers.
Avengers.
So she's Mystique.
There you go.
She's coming back as a member of the Blue Man Group.
And she, though, is about to obviously be in that movie, which she was just in the trailer
for that movie.
It is an Avengers movie, which means it will do two billion dollars.
Yes.
At the box office.
So it's a pretty big deal for her.
Okay.
Yeah, this was.
Yeah.
I was just looking at what the controversy was again, because it was I was just trying
to remember the actual details, jokingly stating that the three became physically aggressive
with him over his take, meaning him and his two teenage daughters.
Oh, he was joking.
But at the same time, but I feel like there was something where she like it was not the
moment to make her look bad in the headlines.
Well, I just think it's because she was she was just announced at that time that she was
going to be reprising her character in Avengers Doomsday.
Sorry, I was not paying attention.
He has now since talked about the fact that he and Sarah Michelle Gellar went on a date
and she dumped him in the middle of an event they were at.
He's talked about the brutal breakup with Juliana Rannick, a rancid rancid.
Oh, yeah.
He talks about that breakup there.
So he again is talking up to anybody who will give him a microphone about anything, but
how wonderful his wife.
And listener Christine just emailed and reminded me that because I do remember where she said
she had to be high all the time.
That's right.
Deal with him.
Oh, I think there was a reference that the only time.
They're the only time she finds him sexy is when she's in an altered state of mind.
Oh, my gosh.
Yeah.
Well, it's really letting everybody know your business.
Wow.
Sell it.
She's like, I know how to play this game.
Yeah, he really made himself sound, you know, yeah, like he was living with kind of a monster.
OK, so.
OK, I would like to solve the bachelor problem.
Please do.
Charlie O'Connell.
OK, was the bachelor.
And how is he related?
Oh, he's Jerry's brother.
You're right.
You know, he's brother.
OK, you can tell if you look at Charlie O'Connell, he looks exactly like Jerry.
Yes, he was also in the show VIP.
Oh, my God.
One of my favorite shows of all time.
Yeah.
Great Sunday morning watching when you're hung over.
Yeah, that's in the 90s.
That was a early 2000s.
Actually, I think Pamela Anderson was a private detective.
I truly think one of her best roles and I would watch the crap out of that show.
Yeah, I do, too.
She could totally go back to that now.
She's like a bona fide actress.
Yes, she's a real actress now, but she started.
Don't give up hope.
If you're an actor out there, you could be on a show like VIP and then be nominated for an Oscar.
She was also Lisa on Home Improvement, and that was my favorite version of Pamela Anderson.
Obviously, of course.
Did you?
But you should have watched VIP.
I don't think I ever do.
You would have liked that because she wore like a really tight outfits.
Yeah, it was like, how does she even run?
A lot of PVC or not PVC.
What is that called?
Vinyl.
Yeah.
Was that PVC?
PVC pipes?
Yeah, but like that, that material.
Go get some water in a ditch.
I just PVC pipes.
Two years before that show came out is when the hit movie Barbed Wire came out.
Yeah.
I was at a I was an 11 year old when that movie came out.
That's where she was wearing the PVC.
That's where it wasn't VIP.
I don't think she had a outfit on VIP like that.
She had outfits.
I'm looking at the outfits.
Oh, no, they were real sexy.
But Barbed Wire is the one where.
Yeah, yeah.
Whoa, I've never heard that was real deep.
I learned a few things for Barbed Wire about Pamela Anderson at that time.
I hadn't seen the video.
Sorry.
Oh, yeah.
All right.
Let's do another blind item.
What do you say?
Like, subscribe, heading into the comments and let us know when you first discovered
Pamela Anderson and what form she was at the time.
It feels relevant to point out that one of the things this A-list singer slash actress
loved most about the ex is he was always able to get her the best drugs back in the day.
It feels relevant to point out the thing that or one of the things that this A-list singer
slash actress loved most about the ex was that he was always the one to be her best
drug hookup back in the day.
Back in the day.
OK.
It feels relevant to point out that one of the things this A-list singer slash actress
loved most about the ex is that he was always her best drug hookup back in the day.
Is the ex still an ex?
Nope.
Ricky Alvarez.
Oh, according to the blind items, it seems relevant to point out that one of the things
Ariana Grande loved most about Ricky Alvarez is back in the day he was always her best
drug hookup.
I mean, not surprised.
Yeah, right.
Certainly not going to be the first backup dancer to probably know where things are.
I feel like when you're on a tour, there's always going to be somebody tasked with, you
know, knowing where the illicit substances are available.
I feel like she's too fragile to do drugs.
You know, she's just so I don't know.
She has a powerhouse voice.
But, you know, yeah.
So you're saying you don't believe the blind?
No, I wonder.
Maybe she did back in the day, but.
So, Mike, are you just saying that back in the day, but not now?
I'm reading the blind item.
Again, I didn't say any of this.
But the blind item is saying I think the blind item is implying it feels relevant because
she might have said she's been clean for a while.
But the fact that she's back with the guy who used to be her best drug hookup, that
might be an indication of what she's actually into lately.
OK, again, I'm just reading the blind.
That's the blind.
OK.
But to your point, she's and she's often talked about this because a lot of people.
But maybe he's gotten clean.
And so there are a lot of people bring it up and talk about an eating disorder or talk
about situations with Ariana Grande.
And she's been very outspoken and said, you guys, I used to eat terrible food.
I used to drink all the time.
I used to do drugs all the time.
I looked different, but I was the most unhealthy version of myself.
Now I look how I am and I feel like I'm the most healthy version of myself.
She said that in the past.
I don't know.
Yeah, we don't know.
So but good luck to them.
Good luck to the happy couple.
Um, I don't know.
How fast will she drop him?
Do we need to make a bet here?
I just think he's the interim.
Like he is clearly a known quantity.
He's easy.
Yeah, like stable.
And maybe, you know, he's in a better place now.
Maybe he's sober and she's like, you know, I need something regular and familiar right
now. I don't need.
Yeah, any riffraff.
Yeah, I don't need to need until the next publishing ship comes along.
Yeah, she doesn't really care about bad press, though.
I don't think.
But but I do say from a PR standpoint, like, it's also the nice.
Oh, clearly, she can't be that much of a monster because he's willing to go back to her.
Like you have that natural, like, oh, if it's an ex, he knows all of her dirty secrets.
And if he's willing to go back to her after all of the, quote, unquote, man, stealing
homewrecking situation that went down with Ethan Slater, it feels more comfortable or
cynical blind item view.
Perhaps she's paying him to fulfill a certain, you know, time frame.
There you go.
Until she's, you know, ready to move forward with the next married public relationship
until she's ready to steal someone else's man.
I just can't wait.
According to the blinds.
I can't wait till she changes the lyrics to thank you next once again.
Yeah.
No, right.
Thank you.
Or thank you.
Some songs about Ricky.
Then I changed them, but now they're back because I still think of them and laugh back
to the original.
Yeah, that's what she'll do.
Let's do another blind item here.
The recent comments from this longtime a list actor is confirming some of the speculation
around the hit show.
The studio head had an ultimatum.
It was either the creator slash writer or the actor.
And obviously we know he went with the actor.
The recent comments from this longtime a list actor has confirmed some of the speculation
around the hit show.
The studio head had to choose between the creator slash writer or the actor.
And clearly he went with the actor.
Okay, so I think I know what this is, but I'm having a hard time putting all the parts
together just because it smells vaguely like a story that I read earlier today and watched
a video of.
Can you?
So we have.
Are you smelling something?
We have.
He did it and then I did it.
Okay, we're all sniffing something.
Yeah, we have recent comments from a longtime a lister.
Longtime a lister.
We had some speculation about what happened around a hit show.
The studio head had to choose either the creator slash writer has to go or the actor's got
to go.
And clearly he selected the actor.
Oh, well, I don't know if this actor is going because I think he's still in it.
This is not the.
Sorry, let me clear up.
Clearly he had to choose between the creator slash writer or the actor.
And obviously he chose to stick with the actor.
Oh, okay.
I'm thinking of Ed Grimley.
What's his name?
Not Ed Grimley.
Help Don out.
What show?
Dutton Ranch.
Oh, Kevin Costner.
Dutton Ranch.
No, Dutton Ranch.
It's Taylor Sheridan.
Well, that's the creator.
That's Taylor Sheridan.
But it's the studio head, I should say.
Okay, it's the actor Ed Harris.
Did I say Ed Grimley?
You did.
Yeah, that's why I looked.
Yeah, I'm like, uh.
And you may remember, we'll fill in this blind here and then we'll talk about it.
The recent comments from Ed Harris confirmed some of the speculation that we had around
Dutton Ranch.
Remember what happened three weeks before we got the first episode?
Literally, the creator slash writer of the show, Chad Feeham, was let go.
That I did not remember because when you said creator, I was like, I don't know who that
is because it's not Taylor Sheridan.
Taylor Sheridan created the universe.
The actual creator of Dutton Ranch was a guy by the name of Chad Feeham, and he was let
go two weeks before filming or before the debut episode.
So the interview that I'm talking about, Variety, get this.
This was like, I thought, kind of shocking to see this in Hollywood.
So it's like that pickleball movie, The Dink.
The Dink.
Or is that a TV show?
That's a TV show.
TV show.
He was on the red carpet for that.
I don't know, there must be a premiere or something.
And the guy from Variety is asking Ed Harrison, he's like, well, I'm really not pleased with
the way my character was handled in the show.
They promised me one thing, and then all of a sudden I'm like, they start cutting everything.
In fact, there was one scene, and he's like throwing F-bombs out.
What?
He's talking directly to this reporter in public, on camera, and he's like, yeah.
And you just don't normally see actors be honest like that, which was refreshing.
On red carpet.
And he's just like, yeah, they did me dirty, basically, said one thing was going to happen,
and then this happened.
And in fact, there was this whole scene where I was supposed to sing karaoke or something,
and he sang.
And I don't remember what else.
He goes on to tell the whole story, and then essentially they cut it out, and he was like,
bleep these people.
Wow.
But obviously he feels comfortable saying that, even though he's going back to season
two, because that creator is not there anymore, right?
Exactly.
So the guy who he was reporting to, his boss on the show, was fired two weeks before the
show started.
So that's why he felt a certain amount of comfort to sort of.
Speak about it, because the guy's not there anymore.
The guy's not going to be there anymore.
And I will just say, I've never seen Variety go straight TMZ on it as much as they did
in this headline.
Because if you saw the headline, and I can pull it up here right now.
Do you know why I saw the headline?
Why?
There's a word in the headline that caught my eye.
Get me the F out of here.
No, the word mizeled.
Oh, that's no longer on this headline.
Okay.
So that's why I clicked on it, because you all know that I used to read the word misled
as mizeled.
That was a separate word.
Felt mizeled by Dutton Ranch.
It's here.
It's still in the title.
So read that.
Go back, Dawn, to read the headline, exactly how it's put on that article.
Ed Harris felt misled by Dutton Ranch about inconsequential role.
Get me the F out of here.
Exclusive.
So that was the headline.
Now they've changed it, because I think somebody got a phone call.
Because again, it felt very TMZ.
Now it says, Ed Harris slams Dutton Ranch.
Get me the bleep out of here.
The veteran actor wasn't initially happy with his role on the Taylor Sheridan series.
Just so you know, he's fine.
He's fine now.
But again, they wrote this very TMZ forward.
Because then I watched the interview.
Because I love this show.
And I was like, I don't want to see Ed go anywhere.
And then I read and listen to the interview.
I'm like, that's not what he said at all, Variety.
Don't change the words.
Well, he did.
But then he eventually said, I was used.
And then he's like, I actually sat down and watched it.
But that's why the piece that we learned in the telling of this tale makes sense.
And I wish that context would be there.
Maybe it was in the article.
Forgive me for just watching the interview.
It's not clear in the interview that that person was let go.
Because the whole time, I was like, whoa.
I feel like he's going to get a phone call when he gets back to his office.
They're like, dude, what are you doing?
Because you don't watch it.
And you don't know that he's, yeah.
And that's the blind item part of it.
Because it does not talk about Chad Feehan in that article at all.
But again, we knew there was a lot of drama around the start of this show.
We couldn't quite put our finger on it.
We speculated a few different things.
And now it makes sense.
Some creative differences and a change at the top.
Still, more actors should be that honest on the red carpet.
Please and thanks.
I mean, you know, he is.
Ed Harris is still going.
He has no bleeps left to give.
Yeah, exactly.
He's at that point in his career.
Like, well, how can you treat Ed Harris that way?
That's what I want to say.
Like, how dare you?
They basically promised him, like, you're going to have a major role.
And they're like, he was told he was going to be one of the four leads of the series.
And then he's like, I wasn't.
But then he said, once I sat down and watched it, I realized I was a very,
very gracious in that sense or like self-reflective about it.
He was like, so it actually wasn't as bad as I thought initially.
But they made me feel like crap.
This is a lot to say on a red carpet.
You know what I mean?
About a different show.
I mean, you can just tell because he starts walking away and the variety guy is like,
no, no, no.
Come on, let's let's.
And to his credit, he just he's he goes back and finishes the conversation.
Doesn't try to shy away from it.
That's cool, because a lot of people just don't even acknowledge.
They're like, just ask me about my outfit.
Yeah, I had a great time.
I love everyone.
Benjamin Cavill has now been hired to replace the showrunner, Chad Feehan.
Related to Henry?
He is.
What's that?
You related to Henry?
He is not, but he is the guy who is behind like the show Justified.
Oh, my gosh.
That's one of my favorite shows.
Yeah.
So he's the guy who wrote Justified and he's also wrote Seal Team for Paramount Plus and
a few other shows.
He's been hired to do the second season of Dutton Ranch.
There you go.
Good choice.
Yeah, it was a great Timothy Oliphant.
And Walter Goggins.
Oh, or Walton Goggins, I should say.
Walton Goggins is opposite of him in that one.
Yes.
There you go.
You guys did a really great job today.
Thank you.
Only because of you.
Shockingly, we're done already.
How did that happen?
I have no idea.
Well, who knew Ed Harris was going to take such a big chunk of our lives today, Don?
If they didn't take a bigger chunk out of Dutton Ranch, he'd be happy.
That's true.
He probably got enough.
What did he get paid, you know?
I hope he got paid decent money.
Certainly not quite as much as we make here on the Blinded by the Item podcast,
