This is Part 1 of a two-part video on High Classical Art (Lecture 7). It includes historical information about the period (450 - 400 B.C.) and then focuses on defining classical art, using examples of sculpture, most particularly Polykleitos's Doryphoros. Part 2 will continue with the High Classical art executed on the Acropolis, most notably the Parthenon and its sculptures. There will also be a brief mention of vase painting.
