We met up with Dennis who pilots this beautiful 1/9th scale RC F-15 turbine jet out at Scobee Field in Katy, Texas. He shares the aircraft information and puts on a great demonstration of this plane's capabilities.
Okay, I'm here with Dennis, and he's got a really nice Turbine F-15, and it looks like the Japanese
introduced self-defense force markings, and I just saw him fly earlier, and it flew really nice,
and fast as a bugger, too, I believe. Dennis, can you tell us a bit about what kit it is?
Okay, well, this is a Skymaster. It's a one-night skill, and I'm running a King Tech 120,
and it shoots out pretty hard. I weighed it the other night. The dry weight is about 26 and a
half pounds. Wow. Yeah. It didn't look like when you flew it. It went really good vertical, and
it screamed along really fast. Oh, yeah, yeah. It has an interesting sound to it, I noticed.
Well, that's because it's a bi-pipe. Okay. So, a single going, and it's split up into two.
So nice inside. Oh, yeah. How much fuel are you carrying in there? Okay, I have about three
liters. Really? Wow. Yeah, three tanks, the two saddle tanks, and I have a main tank inside there.
So, how do you like how it handles? Yeah, that's probably about my sixth flight, and I just cut
the gyro on, so it handles pretty good. Yeah, it handles like a warbird. Gyro on all surfaces,
or just... Yes, all surfaces. Right. Wow. Which gyro system is that? Okay, that's the... It comes
with the Jetty Assist. The gyro is built into the receiver. Okay. Yeah. Do you know the wingspan on
this, roughly? The wingspan is about 56, and it's 81 inches long. The little jets are way longer
than their wingspan. Okay, well, thanks, Dennis. Appreciate your time. Wonderful flying plane,
and you did a good job. Okay, thanks. Thank you so much. All right.
