I got to fix whatever this is right now. What does it mean for you to be a part of this franchise? And why do you think so many people still love it this many movies and iterations later? Oh, I mean, there's been, like, a Spider-Man for so many different generations. And people have grown up with different iterations of this character. Now you got it. OK, Peter 1, Peter 2. Peter 2. And it's an honor to be joining it. Your casting came with a lot of conspiracy theory. Yes, it did. I believe you've already met Dr. Jean Grey. What was your favorite or the wildest one that you saw? I think it was just, like, the volume of theories that was the most surprising. There was, like, a new character every week, it seemed. What can you say to the fans about your casting, about what they can expect? I can't say anything. I guess just a surprise, maybe? A lot of surprises, yes. Yeah, a lot of surprises, a lot of twists and turns. Yeah, I love it. OK, we also have some project milestones on the horizon that we have to celebrate. It's hard to believe, but the five-year anniversary of the Altavelmente short film is coming up. What? I know. Five years is crazy. Crazy. How would you say an experience like that with one of the world's most passionate fan bases prepared you for joining something like the MCU? Yeah, I think I got a good amount of experience between that and also Stranger Things. Yeah, I'm used to very passionate fan bases. So it's cool, yeah. Yeah, and then also, too, you talk about Stranger Things. Class, please welcome, all the way from sunny California, the latest passenger to join us on our curiosity voyage, Maxine. It's Max. Sorry? Nobody calls me Maxine. It's Max. Next year is 10 years since you first joined me in Stranger Things. And that's about the same amount of time that Tom has been a part of Spider-Man. When you look back, what is the biggest gift that that show and that role gave you? I mean, it brought me to a lot of my closest friends. It also just, like, was nice to go back every season and still be excited to play that character. I'm going to miss her a lot. And it's obviously kind of brought me more opportunities through the work I did on that show. Yeah, it's a huge blessing. There's a reason you hide from me. You're not really here. What do you miss the most about her? About Max? Yeah. I don't know. I feel like I can't really say goodbye to her. Like, she's just, we're kind of the same person in a lot of ways, just because I was so young when I started playing her. But yeah, I've got her skateboard in my house. Oh, do you? Yeah, I do. Oh, that's special. It appears we're faced with a threat we can't control, one we can't even see. The only one who's immune to it, the one who can sense it. OK, so let's go back to this set. Tell me a little bit about joining, I mean, a star set at all, StarCast. What was that like? Yeah, I mean, that's, like, the amazing thing about these Marvel movies, too, is that it brings together incredible actors in roles that, like, are just so iconic. In this film, we've got an amazing cast, characters that, you know, you recognize from the Spider-Man franchise and also new ones. Yeah, it's amazing to be on set and just, yeah, like, look around at these actors that you admire so much. Yeah, and like we were talking about, Tom has been playing this role for over a decade. Did he give you any advice, any tips and tricks for joining into this world? Yeah, he did. He did. And also, like, weirdly, I was, like, rehearsing for Romeo and Juliet at the same time I was filming this. And- Oh, my God, so different. That was- Very different. So two different mindsets, I'm sure. Yeah, very different, but it was good. And he had done it, I think, like, the year before. So we would talk a lot about that, which was great. Yeah, and then did he say anything to prepare you for this world? I mean, anything that he was, like, you do this on set, this works, this is great with the fans? Yeah, he definitely, like, kind of prepped me for, like, the press element of it. And, like, the spoilers and how top secret everything is. Yeah, he's such a pro. Which I was laughing with Tom because I saw him for The Odyssey and he said his mom wasn't prepared for how big of a role he had. Yeah, she turned to me, trying to, like, tear stream an animation. She said, I didn't realize you had such a big part. Were you just keeping the production a secret, when she just didn't know how big it was? I just, I don't know. I honestly don't know. I felt like I told them, and I was away for months. I don't know what she thought I was doing. For you, was there anyone that you were tempted to tell about your role? Did you tell anyone? Your mom, your best friend, were you like, I gotta call someone? Yeah, like, I told some people. I think it was hard because I wanted to tell, I think I was filming Stranger Things when it was all happening, so I wanted to tell all my friends. And did anyone on set know? Did any of the? Yeah, some people did, but yeah. And how hard is it for you to keep this secret? Again, because people are so excited and they're so highly anticipated. I know. I think it's not that hard. I just keep my mouth shut. It's fine. Yeah. Yo, Spider-Man, is that monster inside you? Think I might go see how MJ's doing. What is the most common thing that fans come up and say to you on the street? Just usually it's like, are you Max? And like, sometimes. Sometimes, but you have another character waiting. Yeah. For the fans that love this franchise, what do they have in store for this film in particular? Ooh, I mean, I think you get to see a very mature, different side of Peter Parker as he's like grappling with, I guess, his lost identity. So it's heartbreaking and heartwarming at times. And I think Tom just does an incredible job of like, yeah, developing this character. And I think it feels like a really grown-up Spider-Man in a lot of ways. Yeah. All right, just give me a sec.
