These are the flavors for today. I can do one or two or I can make rainbows.
My name is Joe Momola. I'm the owner of the Jolly Trolley, Snow Cones and More, in Wyckoff, New Jersey, but we do travel all over New Jersey.
The Jolly Trolley is a purpose-built snow cone trolley that looks like a miniature train.
I think it was 2015, I saw an ad in Craigslist for this trolley, and I used to buy and sell classic cars and just unique little vehicles.
I bought it from a guy in Long Island, and we started, the first thing I did was the Wyckoff Memorial Day Parade.
And that's where people started to see what I do, and then bought the snow cone equipment and started doing just small private parties here and there.
It's made to be street legal, to drive to a customer's party or anywhere the trolley can fit, so a lot of times I'll end up in someone's backyard or next to their pool.
Yeah, there was even a time where I'm like, I felt goofy, like super goofy driving this thing.
And because I had like a professional job and then, you know, my suit every day, and then I would get in this little goofy trolley and toot the horn and make goofy noises.
So it was like almost embarrassing for a while, but then the kids love it so much, and everyone just laughs and smiles.
It just became something I really love to do, and some of the kids, they're just so amazing.
When I bought the trolley, I was still doing pharmaceutical sales, so I did that for almost 20 years, and I really didn't love it.
My old job, I had great customers, but honestly a lot of doctors were not happy to see a pharmaceutical rep in the middle of the day when they're trying to see patients.
So you get the eye rolls and things like that, but when I pull up with the Jolly Trolley, people start cheering, the little kids start chanting and cheering.
It's just a completely different feeling, and it just makes me smile, and the kids love it.
You know, I have people that I've seen for 11 years since I started this thing.
One of them is in town, it's just a nursery school at Wyckoff Reform Church, and I've seen those kids, some of them now I see in high school, that I did when they were in kindergarten and things like that.
So it's nice to see the kids grow, I'm in their family pictures every year, some of them, so it's kind of an honor to be part of that.
