AB going into last game for the All-Star break.
Obvious question, but just what do you need to do to carry the momentum you built
into this last game and obviously in a high note?
Yeah, we need to be focused.
I think Connecticut's been playing really well.
They've been every single game, especially the last two games.
So first, just make sure that we're paying attention to the details,
make sure that we're ready defensively, but also we need to push our pace.
You guys are broken up, not on the same team for all this time.
I know, I know.
But what do you think that's gonna be like?
It's still gonna be insane watching K-Meds, I'm glad I partnered up with C.
But I mean, I'm excited, I think it's gonna be a lot of fun.
What does it mean to you all that you've been an All-Star for a year?
Has it ever changed in how you feel about it?
No, it's always a blessing for me, honestly.
I think I never take it for granted being an All-Star.
I mean, there's so many talented women in this league, and to be a starter,
let alone, it's just like, wow.
So for me, I'm always grateful, and I'm just-
I saw you mention on the podcast with Candace,
like, hey, Brianna's got a certain amount of All-Star appearances.
Do you like maybe getting a few more up there and chasing down Candace?
I tell Candace all the time, I'm like, girl,
when you look at some of the records that people break,
it's like, haven't done since Candace Parker.
I'm like, that's insane to you.
And she's like, no, no, it doesn't matter.
I'm like, no, that's insane.
So I mean, anything to keep my name up there with Candace,
I mean, that would be pretty dope, so 100%.
KK backing you up, she's been a lot more disciplined recently.
She's been killing it.
What do you think has led to it?
Yeah, I think KK's focus.
But I think KK's always been that type of player, too.
I mean, she's super athletic, and I think her ability to guard any position
on the floor, and I think you see it with her rebounding her block,
just when she affects the game, I think it's been tremendous for us.
And she's just been doing such a great job.
Has she had one athletic thing she's done that maybe you haven't seen?
I mean, that block in Phoenix was insane.
That was just such a big momentum shifter for us.
But I think it just goes to show what she really can do out on the floor,
and I love it.
I'm glad I'm on this end.
How have you seen her grow from her rookie year coming into now?
I mean, just her confidence.
I think, you know, being able to put her on the floor
and she knows exactly what she needs to do.
She doesn't second-guess herself.
She knows her automatic movements, and I love that for her.
And then she does what she does well, which is rebound, block shots,
just affect the game.
We've talked about Sophie and her three-point shooting.
But yours has been elite this year as well.
How much pride do you take in having made more threes this year,
halfway through it, than in your previous three years combined?
Yeah, it's super exciting.
I think that was definitely something that I talked to the coach
at the end of last year, being able to shoot the three ball a lot more
and at a higher rate.
And so, for me to see them go in this year, I'm super excited.
I think that was something that I really drilled this offseason.
So, I'm super excited.
And then, as for Sophie, like, she is killing it.
I mean, she takes great shots, and she's just shooting the ball really well.
After all the funny chat about you doing the three-point contest
as a rookie, would you do it this year?
Do you want to do it?
I'm probably not going to do it.
But, I mean, people have asked me.
They're like, no, no, no, no.
I just do it out here in the rain.
I know.
Rookie year, I was serious about that.
I was like, please let me in.
And now here I am.
I don't know.
Looking to tomorrow night with Connecticut.
Seeing them for a second time.
What do you think will be key?
I think for us, guarding our yard.
I think BG has been super assertive.
So, for us, just knowing that they want to get the ball inside.
Making sure that we're prepared for that.
But, once again, it's just going to come down to guarding your yard.
Making sure we're pushing pace and just playing the game.
