Silva has been exceptional in final rounds this year.
7 out of 10 of the final rounds that she has played in. She has played better than her rating
with several of those rounds over 1,000. She came back on henna at the first major of the year.
It was a four stroke deficit that she erased with a 1031 rated final round.
Silva has found the birdie here. Two out of the three rounds.
Getting away a little earlier than we've seen. Big opportunity for Silva to potentially take two.
Gonna be close. For Silva to pick up two.
Oh, and it tries to come back out. Saved by the rim. The lead cut to three. It was early.
Maybe a little distraction there. Sarah Holcomb, what did you see?
Silva is just in front of where Holland was,
but she'll have to shape it through the middle of these trees. It's a little gap.
Oh, and she does it, giving it a run. She matched the side hill really well as well.
Really great scramble by both ladies.
Way. Silva hits those putts with her eyes closed. Halfway down the fairway.
Doors open. Oh, it's in the circle, but that looks rather obstructed.
There it is. After the short miss on the previous hole, comes right back and gets a birdie. It
cuts the lead back to three. Oh, and Silva gets denied by the last guardian, but it actually
keeps her right at 20 feet. Wow. And Silva much closer than it first appeared.
Hole five. We're heading up the hill.
Silva is going to match her shot from yesterday.
Oh yeah. Might even be further. Look at the angle. She's even left side.
So she's going to probably try to punch this tiny gap as straight as possible
and let the putter fall. Yesterday she turned it over trying to hit this angle.
Wow. And it was about as thin as it could be to throw a tight flex through the line that
Sarah mentioned. Oh, this comes out early. Does it flip up? Hit 50% of those putts.
Silva drills it right onto the pole. She will cut the lead to two.
Silva coming off four in a row. The turnover is tight, but it's around the corner.
Got to get birdie and hole nine. And look at the difference with what Silva is able to do
from the standstill compared to own. She mentioned yesterday how she runs everything.
This is in putting range, but that was a, that was a half go for right.
Silva found that OB yesterday with a completely pure, beautiful shot.
She needs a little stability at the end of this flight to stay on that hill. Much lower today.
Oh, it's perfect. Make it six in a row for Silva.
I don't imagine the ninth will slow her down. Silva looking for seven in a row.
She has yet to par in this final round. Silva in between a putt and a throw, but she will putt it.
An eagle on seven, an eagle on nine. And Silva, she's got to get out of the way. She spits out.
It rolls through her legs. Oh, and it was a right side miss. The MVP black hole portal pulls it in.
How will Silva respond? Put it flat. Oh, it's going to be just outside the bullseye.
This to tie the lead. Through ten holes, Silva has erased five shots. Owen and Silva both 30 under par.
Silva throwing a rope. It's going to fade away from the pin.
Wow, this is just outside the circle. This is a dangerous look. A big cottonwood canyon in the
backdrop. Puts it in the heart. Outside of the basically spit out on the ninth. Silva has been
perfect today. This flips up. She's got the distance. It's perfection just four days in a
row for Silva Sarnin. Get those two barrier trunks. Those aren't even full trees, but
a really cool marker for the ski resort that we're on. Silva punches this low.
She missed this inside yesterday. Kind of changes the game plan.
Here's Silva after the conservative play. Tall grass. Dialing in the distance.
Of course, going to the standstill. Looking forward to swing.
Oh, and not the worst reaction off of that tree. She has birdied nine of her last ten.
Looking to go ten of her last eleven. This is inside. It's running away. It's going to be
close. Oh, it's a red flag for Silva. Here's Silva from the drop zone. We know how dangerous this can
be. Oh, it had the weight. Got some right side chains. Caught the rim. This could have easily
stayed. It was a little bit too right. Silva three for three. She got her first forehand birdie
ever on hole 15 of round one. She mentioned it herself. Will she go four for four and match own?
Looks good.
Four rounds in a row. She goes to a shot that traditionally makes her feel uncomfortable.
She's going to birdie all four days. There's the playoff scenario.
Hole 17 and 18 will be played on a loop. Silva put some extra speed on this wave.
Going to fly the boulder. That's huge. Oh, and look at this. This boulder is going to
kind of get in the way of a typical standstill. No way does she try and balance between the
boulders and throw this shot. She can see the bucket. The balance that is required.
And she's going to miss it. She's going to hit the trees, Val.
Sarah just mentioned a high putt could run away pretty easily. Silva told us yesterday she's
running everything. It'll come up short. This is the biggest stage. How can own push through?
That will be the question right now. It's not over, but she's going to somehow have to dig
herself out of this hole. Where is she at? She's going to be two back now with two holes remaining.
She releases it on the hyzer flight as she should with the wind.
It keeps it up. It's going to fade well left. Look at this. Wow, what a wall.
What is best case? That's more than a wall. That's like, wow, look at how many layers and layers.
It's not just punching through a couple of trees. This is going to be so challenging.
Oh, it doesn't get out. It travels maybe 12 feet. And really, was this the best route?
There is an opening, but it hangs on her finger just a little bit too long.
Yes, for par from close to 50 feet. She's going to cash in. That's big right there.
It's just her third circle to make of the tournament, and it comes at the most dramatic
moment of the event. I don't know where she draws from to make it happen when it matters most, but
she is ice cold. This is a major title on the line and power through. This is an incredible
round she's shooting today, currently sitting at 10 under this power right here.
That's the shot of the day. She's going to send it. It's getting some turn. Look at this tracking.
Oh my goodness. It's inside circle two. Silva just iced out the tournament.
But it is Silva Saarinen from OET Finland. She is your United States champion.
I'm here with Silva, our champion. This is her third major title, second of the year.
There was a lot of lead changes out there. You were pushing, you took the lead about halfway through,
and then it came back. Was there a point that you felt a lot of pressure out there?
Not really, but I was a bit nervous on hole 16. Maybe that was the first time, actually.
What was the hardest thing about this whole weekend?
Maybe that we have been here on the course almost four full days, and that's crazy.
Well, you will be taking a United States women's title back to Finland
for an entire year. What would you like to say to your fans at home?
I would say just that Finnish winning streak continues.
There we go. Are we going to see you shredding that snowboard this next winter? I know you skied.
Are you going to put some tracks on there? I could, yes. I have tried to snowboard a few times,
but I'm not really good at it, but I think I can learn it.
Well, great playing. You shredded out there, and maybe we'll be shredding in the future.
Any sponsors you'd like to thank?
MVP, of course. They are making this possible for me.
And how are you going to celebrate?
I don't know. Maybe do some hikes next week here.
Going to summit this mountain?
Maybe, yes.
All right, give it up for Silva Sarnen, your 2026 FPO U.S. champion.
