Video Summary
AI GeneratedA high-performance drag race showdown between the Bugatti Chiron and the new Corvette ZR1X. The video compares the acceleration, launch capabilities, and top-end speed of a $4 million hypercar against a $250,000 hybrid powerhouse to determine which is the king of straight-line speed.
Oh, it's close!
What wins in a drag race?
A Bugatti Chiron or the new Corvette ZR1X?
Today, we're gonna find out exactly that.
We're gonna do multiple drag races
as well as some roll races to find out
who's the king of straight line speed.
Starting with the all new ZR1X,
five and a half liter twin turbocharged V8 hybrid
making 1,250 horsepower.
Now on a prepped surface,
this can sprint from zero to 60 miles an hour
in 1.68 seconds.
It should do less than two seconds on an unprepped surface,
which we are racing on today.
Goes on to run the quarter mile in 8.67 seconds,
probably closer to nine zero on the street.
Now we've got the legendary Bugatti Chiron
with its massive eight liter quad turbocharged W16
making 1,500 horsepower,
zero to 60 in 2.4 seconds,
going on to the quarter mile in the mid nines,
but we've got a significant horsepower advantage.
This is about 200 pounds heavier than the ZR1X.
The crazy part is this is about a $4 million car
and this is about a quarter million dollar car.
Before we get out on the track,
let's go ahead and take a look at the spec of the Chiron,
talk about the interior a little bit.
Special thanks to Devin Allen Johnson.
I've linked his Instagram down below
for loaning us this car for the drag races.
Absolutely unbelievable spec.
I love the interior of the Chiron,
particularly that ambient light.
Let's go ahead and hop in.
To fire on the Chiron, click the engine start button,
put it into drive, and then to do launch control,
we've got a launch button right here.
This is going to be absolutely insane.
I also got to give a huge shout out to Attorneys on Retainer
for renting out the track today at Apex Motor Club
and providing the ZR1X.
I've got more information in the description below
about them.
They're the only law firm in the United States
that specializes only in defense.
So if you have a home invasion or anything defense-related,
they've got your back
and even an awesome subscription service
that you can use my code for a discount.
It's actually a really good price and an awesome product.
Obviously, we're doing drag races.
We need drag times themselves.
Let's go.
You're going to be in the ZR1X.
Got it.
What do you think's happening?
It's hard to say.
The weather, the traction, it's up for grabs.
1,500 horsepower, 1,250 horsepower.
It's all about the launch.
The Chiron should be neck and neck.
I'm actually really excited for this.
I don't know if you guys can hear at Apex Motor Club,
we've got a Valkyrie screaming in the background.
ZR1X, as you can see on the little insignia there,
pretty cool interior color.
Mark Victor, the owner of Attorneys on Retainer,
owns this car and it is pretty darn cool.
Here we go out on track in the Bugatti
following behind the ZR1X.
This is about to be absolutely insane.
We've got it marked off exactly at the quarter
with some cones
and then we're going to do a roll race as well
to see if that makes a difference.
This is one of those videos where I just got to pinch myself.
This is just ridiculous.
Here we go.
First race, Chiron versus ZR1X from a dig.
Oh, it's close.
Oh, I'm gaining on him.
Holy moly.
I gave you the jump and then I spun too.
Then once we both sat down,
I think I was, was I, how many cars ahead was I?
Three?
But before we continue,
I'd like to thank the sponsor of today's video, Always Start.
Dead batteries are extremely annoying.
Ask me how I know.
You come out to your car early in the morning,
getting ready for work and the car doesn't fire on.
Then you're left scrambling for jumper cables or a jump pack.
You find out the jump pack isn't charged
and then you're late for the day.
But thanks to this absolutely genius company,
dead batteries are a thing of the past.
Always Start easily installs onto any car battery
and automatically it preserves the battery,
allowing it to start every single time.
Always Start is super easy to install.
You can see it sitting on the top of the battery here
and it automatically and seamlessly works in the background.
It can even extend battery life
by up to two times the normal amount.
When your car sits parked,
your battery is still draining.
Thanks to parasitic drain from the ECU,
the TCU, faulty sensors and more,
it wreaks havoc on your battery over time.
The brilliant part is Always Start keeps an energy reserve.
So even if you leave your door open by accident
or your light's on, when you come back to the car,
it's got that little bit of extra power
so you can fire on your car and get to where you need to go.
The company was started by an aerospace engineer
and with multiple patents pending,
this company is set to explode.
To the degree at which
I kind of wish I started this company myself.
Their Kickstarter campaign ends at the end of May.
So get yourself one of these today
by clicking the link in the description below.
Make sure to act fast.
This product is actually revolutionary
and I'm super excited to see where the brand goes.
So click that link in the description
and always start your car.
All right, race two in the Chiron.
Let's see if we can get a little bit more grip.
I'm seeing that there's some,
a little bit of a slippery surface here on this side.
I cut traction off the line.
A little spin.
Bit of a dusty surface.
Woo!
What happened?
It went off the line, it just spun like crazy.
So you launched okay, but it just spun.
Yeah.
And I got out.
Yeah.
All right, let's run it again.
That's why drag racing,
you never know what's going to happen.
On this surface, the Chiron decided to spin
even with all wheel drive,
1500 horsepower, putting it to the ground is difficult,
but we're going to go ahead and run that back.
So as of now, from a dig,
unless something drastically changes,
it does appear that the ZR1X is quicker,
which is not surprising.
I mean, the zero to 60 is faster.
The quarter mile is faster.
From a roll is going to be where it's very, very interesting
but it does have the hybrid assist.
So it's not going to have any lag off the line,
but man, this thing pulls like an absolute
brake train off the line.
And then it pulls even harder
once it starts to get a little bit of grip.
Evan Johnson, thank you so much for this.
Driving a Bugatti is cool, but drag racing a Bugatti,
that is really cool.
Wow.
Definitive victor, but that was really only
like two car lengths.
And I feel like it cut power a little bit
between the one, two shift.
That's fair.
Yeah, a hundred percent.
If it gets too long, it doesn't pull.
So I just let it, you go,
and just to make sure we get the race.
And it seems like-
Oh, now a roll race.
Yeah. Let's hit it.
So we are going to hit it from a 30 roll.
I'm not sure why Brooks wants to hit it from a 30 roll.
I feel like a 40 roll is the traditional
kind of roll race speed, but let's see.
From 30, we are in first gear.
There we go.
Let's go.
Chiron took down the ZR1X from a roll.
Oh man.
Oh, that was a sweet victory.
Oh, that was nice.
Oh, no way.
If we have time in this session,
I think we got to run that back one more time.
I missed the shift at the beginning.
Should we try one more?
Let's try one more.
That's pretty good.
He didn't have it in manual mode.
He claims he missed a shift,
but that's drag racing for you.
This car is nice.
It's actually got a manual mode,
a drive and a sport manual mode.
So I put it into sport one,
and then I can choose that it's in first gear,
but then it'll auto up shift
so that I don't mess up the shifts.
This thing pulls so hard.
I know there's going to be people in the comments.
Why don't you manually shift it?
If I could run a hundred drag races in this thing,
of course, but the auto up shift is very, very fast
and obviously goes right at red line.
So we're going to run one more race from a roll
and then talk over the results.
But man, this is pretty much what I expected,
but I'm curious.
In the comment section below,
what do you think on this next race is going to happen?
Did he really miss the shift
or is he just coming up with some excuses?
Hard to say.
Brooks doesn't like to lose.
I know that.
I see you Brooks.
I'm competitive too.
I'm not a big fan that I'm losing this.
I might have to switch to the ZR1X for,
we're going to run a ton of different drag races today.
So please subscribe to the channel,
turn notification bell on,
as well as subscribe to Brooks' channel
because there's some awesome stuff coming.
Race, what a race.
Unbelievable.
Wow, that was epic.
You know, I do have to give huge props to Chevy
for making a quarter million dollar car
that won every race,
but the one that Brooks messed up on
against a $4 million Bugatti.
Now I will say,
I'd rather drive home than this personally.
I don't know about you,
but I don't have $4 million
and the ZR1X provides hypercar levels of performance
for a very, very reasonable price
for what you're getting it for,
especially with how expensive cars are nowadays
with the Temerario being 400 grand plus.
This is pretty awesome.
All right, Brooks.
Well, results aside,
that was probably one of the coolest things
I've ever been a part of.
So that was,
I was literally screaming behind the wheel,
like, come on.
So I think the Chiron did a lot better than expected, right?
I think so too.
I mean, it's blazing hot out,
so both cars have the same conditions.
Yeah.
You know, off the launch,
this electric assist is incredible.
Bugatti was spinning.
I felt like I wanted to get them side by side,
so I let you go early
and I still jumped ahead a little bit
and then it was close.
Yeah, yeah.
It was very close.
100%.
And then the roll races,
the first time I mucked it up a little bit
just because it downshifted,
I wasn't auto,
and then the second time I did a little better.
I'm like, there's such levels to this.
The ZR1X is incredible,
then you pull up in a Chiron,
you're like, okay,
and then a Valkyrie drives by
and you're like, okay,
I don't need either of these cars, but.
What an epic set of races, Parker.
I know, 100%.
That is just crazy.
250 grand, four million bucks.
Hell of a race.
Neck and neck.
Make sure to subscribe to his channel.
We've got some awesome races coming
that you don't want to miss.
You don't want to miss it.
100%.
See you guys next video.
