AI GeneratedThis video provides a performance and detailed tutorial for a magic trick called \"Joker Monty,\" created by Tom Matrick. The effect uses a combination of misdirection, specific card setups, and roughing spray to trick the audience into believing there are jokers in the deck, only to reveal that the cards are actually a sequence from Ace to Six of Spades.
Hello again everybody. Today I'm going to be showing you a performance and tutorial for
the effect that I used to reveal the winners in the mint deck giveaway of my last video.
At the end of this video I'll be announcing the winners of the decks from my last video plus
there'll be another deck giveaway. So here we go. Okay I have six cards. Red, blue, red, blue,
blue, and red. So we have blue, red, red, and blue, and red, and blue, and another blue, and a red.
Your job is to keep your eye on the jokers. The jokers are the money cards. So there's one, two,
and you can see the dollar sign on the jokers. So keep your eye on the jokers.
So now I have a joker here and a joker here. We're going to put them face to face.
They're both red back. You may ask why I have red back and why I have blue back.
Because they are used for misdirection. Because right here in the middle I have a five and a four
and a six of spades and a three, two, and ace of spades. There never were any jokers. We have
three red, three blue, and the cards are the ace through six of spades and that is six card
joker monty. Okay so this red back blue back joker monty routine was created by Tom Matrick.
There's a link to his channel in the description below. I really think you guys should check him
out because this is truly an amazing effect. You're going to need an ace of spades with a
blue back, a two of spades with a red back, a three of spades with a blue back, a four of spades
with a blue back, a five of spades with a joker on the back. Now you don't want to glue or tape
two cards together. It'll be too thick. I recommend buying a deck with double face cards. There's a
link in the description below where you can pick that up. Then you're going to have a six of spades
with a red back and then a joker with a red back. Now you're going to take these two jokers
and you're going to treat the face of these cards with roughing spray. So let me show you how to
treat the cards and then we'll get on to the tutorial. So I'm going to be using Krylon Mac
Finish number 1311. There are many different types of roughing spray which I'll have a link in the
description below. What you want to do is you want to take your two jokers, the double face with the
five of spades and the red back joker, set them down and you want to spray a thin coat in a well
ventilated area just like that. Make sure you give it plenty of time to dry before using it. The
purpose of this roughing spray is when the two jokers go face to face the cards will stay together.
So here's the setup for this effect. You're going to take the five with the joker face down,
then the red six on top of that, the blue back four on top of that, then the ace with the blue
back, the two with the red back, the three with the blue back and then a joker going in the same
direction as your first joker. So now you're going to show that you have six cards even though you
have seven. So what I did in my performance was you hold the cards nice and square and I up job
the second card. So I say red, blue, red, blue. Now I'm holding on to these three cards. Blue,
I'm pushing this blue off and I'm holding the red with a card underneath it as one. So now you see
six cards, they're blue and red. Square them up. Now you have a joker on the bottom and you have
a joker on the top. What you're going to do is slide the joker on the top off and flip it over
and say so we have blue cards and red and red. And now what you're going to do is you're going
to peel a blue card off the top as you steal back the red card. So we have blue cards and red and
red and you're going to put the blue card, steal it, steal the bottom card back and take the blue
card. Now we have a red, now a blue, peel off the blue, keeping these cards very square. Now the
next blue card, you're going to have a pinky break. So you're going to slide the card off
and you're going to keep your pinky right below it and then these are three cards. So you're
going to want to make sure that they're really square when you take this blue card off. You're
going to show this joker and you're going to peel it off and make sure these cards are square,
having that pinky break and say and a red and you're going to put all three of the cards on top.
Now you're going to hold the cards with a thumb break and take all the cards under the break
and move them to the top. So what you're going to do now and this is the most difficult part of the
effect. You're going to take one card and you're going to block push all five of these cards by
doing it in the corner right over here. You're block pushing all five of these cards and you're
take with this finger here you're going to try and keep it square and you're going to flip them over
and you're flipping over five cards. Now you're going to show that you have one joker and the
second joker you're going to block push again. You want to just take this block push turn it over and
then you're going to set down the first two cards which are really the ace and the deuce and then
you're going to do the same thing again. You're going to take one card block push all of these
turn them all over and say the jokers are the money card. You can see the dollar side again
you're going to block push all the cards here. It's a lot easier now because you're only block
pushing three cards. So you say the joker is the money card and you turn that over and you set
another one down over here. Now you're going to hold these cards peel off the bottom card as
you're holding the top and bottom pretty tight peel off the bottom flip it over show you have
a joker with your thumb you can slide the joker off. Now even though there's roughing spray here
there's not on the back of this card so it should slide off pretty easily. So again you're going to
peel off the card on the bottom flip this hand over show the joker peel the joker off and now
this is a double and you're going to hold it right like this against the joker so you could show you
have a red back against a red back. Now as you square them up make sure they're nice and square
because now the two jokers are going to stick together so you could say that the red cards and
the blue cards were just for misdirection and then you spread the cards and you can show as you can
see here this five looks like one card and it sticks right in the middle and now you can say
it was for misdirection because we have a four a five a six a three a two and an ace and then you
can even take the cards and spread them out a little fan and the five should not separate you
can show that you have three blue three red and I was bold enough to even drop them on the table
hoping that the cards wouldn't split but as you can see it can be separated really easily
but the cards do because there's a matte finish the cards do stay together. Okay let me know what
you guys think now on to the prize giveaway. Here are the giveaway winners for my last video winning
