Finally A NEW EPISODE!!
Jul 19, 2026
Hey, what's up everyone out there.
Thank you so much for tuning into another addicted fishing podcast.
It's been a couple of weeks since we've been in here, but we've been doing
pretty good to get these episodes out.
Make sure you guys let us know if you guys want to hear more of these podcasts
and we'll try to make a better effort to get in here.
We've, I think we just broke like 500,000 downloads of our podcast,
which is pretty fricking cool.
That is really neat.
Yeah.
Hi everybody.
We're back.
We've been running amok.
We have, we've been doing a lot of stuff.
We've been filming like crazy.
Well, Jordan has all of us really have been doing a lot of filming lately.
A lot of content for you guys, especially.
Yes.
It was a big team effort.
We had a lot of big trips, at least four trips where all of us were
included, which is very rare these days.
Some really cool.
And so we have some cool ones coming.
We have a Florida trip, Peacock bass trip coming.
We have a land shark trip that's coming.
That's going to be epic.
So many cool things forgot about that.
So there's so many of you guys that I'm forgetting about and
they're going to be so cool.
Some of them, we've just put a lot of effort into filming.
So if you guys are not subscribed over on the YouTube channel,
make sure you check it out.
And also don't forget we started stay fishy adventures.
So if you guys haven't gone over and checked out, stay fishy adventures.
It is Jordan's own YouTube channel.
It's just Jordan focuses a lot more just on the love
for the outdoors in general.
You know, it's not just about fishing.
It's about just getting out there and traveling, meeting people, going
in the woods, hiking around mushrooms, whatever.
I mean, there's really no, there's really no rhyme or reason you
guys might even see some random.
We talked about even doing like a little Walmart tour or something
where you do the Walmart camping thing.
Cause that's really popular on YouTube guys.
And I thought it'd be fun, like to really just challenge Jordan
because I think naturally it's like really easy for you to do
this stuff in the outdoors.
And it might not be as easy for you to do this stuff in the city.
Yeah.
It might get a little irritating, but I'm already putting a spin on this.
I'm thinking of like a Walmart tour, but I like go in and I like play
in each Walmart and I like give reviews on like which Walmart is
the best Walmart to stay in.
Yeah.
Which Walmart's the best one to stay in based on like food that's
the consistency of their slurpee machines.
And well, if you didn't know the president of Walmart actually
puts out a statement, it's actually on Walmart's website.
He allows campers to stay in Walmart parking lots across
the country for one night.
They don't, they don't care.
They want you to, they actually happily invite people to do that.
There's not many, you ever will go by and not see, not see
someone, somebody doing it.
Yeah.
There's the local one just up the road here in Woodland, Washington.
And there's always, and it's always somebody that is very grateful
in all rural areas like this.
You know what I mean?
I'm sure there's a lot more Walmarts.
They could have, they probably have abolished that, that statement.
Probably, but it's cool.
Cause it's, it's a cool thing that they do is there's not many, many
places you can go camp for free.
No, no, no.
It's funny.
Like I'll watch Mavs videos, you know, and he's like sitting
there in the parking lot, literally like he has one race cooking,
like a Wagyu steak in a fricking Walmart parking lot.
There's like people walking by.
Like, I'm just like, dude, you're cooking like an $800 meal right
now in a Walmart parking lot.
It's pretty funny, but I think that's kind of intrigues people.
I think it really does.
People are like, this guy's crazy.
Yeah.
I was, when I told you on the phone earlier, but tell these people,
I go like the other day, we were, I was stopping, got dinner at this
place, you know, near nearby.
And, um, actually it was quite, it was two hours from here.
I was on my way back from rural mushroom picking and this kid stopped
me and, and, you know, asked if I had a YouTube channel and stuff
and it was super excited to meet.
And it was the first, one of the first people I've ever met that, who
was a fan of state fishy in particular, who said, I don't fish, never fish
before, but I love watching the videos because of like the other stuff you're
doing.
So I think that's like Marlon said, the context of the channel and, and
a lot of the channels that will probably be sparsely created, um, over
the next few years inside the addicted crew is this just more of a lifestyle
feel good, um, fun and entertaining video.
You know, more, more like what YouTube prefers and more of what a lot of
people that watch TV prefer, you know, more of a lifestyle and the reality of
it is, is to know you, we've talked about it a bunch, but like, you know,
all you guys out there listening, you're probably fans of fishing.
You probably love fishing, but the reality of it is, is we're a pretty
niche market, you know, fishing is, is pretty small in relativity to even
just camping, right?
Like everyone in the entire fricking world goes camping at least once
or twice in their lifetime.
Not everyone goes fishing there.
You'd be surprised.
There's a lot of people out there that have never touched a
fishing pole in their life.
Or even considered it.
Yeah.
They don't even think about it.
They don't even care to even do it.
Yeah.
More than there are that, that actually do.
But that doesn't mean anything.
Cause don't worry guys.
The fishing will go.
No.
Yes.
There's still fishing in every episode, but I just thought that was neat to
finally meet somebody who was like, I just like watching, you know, and there's
a lot of folks who watch addicted who just enjoy watching, but it's usually
because they are really interested in the, we should do all, I just came
up with the next video idea.
Urban fishing for milfs.
Fishing for milfs.
Dude, it will be a huge video.
Camping in a Walmart parking lot, fishing for milfs.
And just have like sitting on the tailgate with an arm around a lady.
As the thumbnail.
Yeah.
And then literally like as women come out of the Walmart, you just like approach
them, Hey, how's it going?
You need help like loading your groceries and stuff.
Dude, we know.
I'm just telling you guys, if you want videos to go viral.
Really seeing that go in a different direction.
But then he said milf and I'm, I'm not going to argue.
I'm all about it.
Well, on another note, what's been going on, dude, what have you been doing?
What kind of fishing you've been doing?
I know you've been out, you've been out picking mushrooms.
I forgot about even the land shark video because it's just been, it's this time
of year and I'll say it again in the fall, but I have outdoor anxiety.
There's so much of my favorite stuff to do right now.
The other day I was lucky enough.
I went out, I went turkey hunting.
I picked morels.
I found a shed and I found thunder eggs all in the same day.
And that it's like, man, it couldn't get any better.
And that's what, that's what happened this time of year for me and all of us.
There's just so many things that here, the weather's not breaking.
So we can't even say that we're still going out in the rain every day.
But just, just there's so much to go do.
And every turn is fun.
There's so many natural edibles to pick and, and cool places to go see that
are just opening up in the snow.
And part of me wonders though, you know, with this weather, do you think
we'll get like a later summer?
Like it'll go like farther in September or we're just going to be screwed.
Fishing in the next couple of years because of it, because this is what the
Pacific Northwest is supposed to be like, and it hasn't been for 10 years.
You know, it's supposed to be like this, you know, look at, look at places.
Well, that's the April snow.
That was the first time that happened in 80 years.
Yeah.
So for those of you who are listening on other parts of the country, we got six
inches of snow and it's at the end of April and in the valleys and on the
coastline and stuff.
And it was just, and we were out steelhead fishing in it, you know, and it
was very wild to see, but for our fish, it does a lot for their survival.
I can't, after how good of a steelhead season we had this year of the way that
these fish are getting to spawn this year and the, the success rate runoff
they're going to get with the cold.
Think about all these runoffs, dude.
Like we just had all those out migrating fish and then we just had a massive
blowout, like that is so good for the fish.
Covers them up, hides them from predators.
But so been trying to stray away from the salmon and steelhead
stuff a little bit.
You know, we've been, um, doing a lot of trout fishing, of course,
it's docker trout season.
So we like to support that and get people into that and get, get that, that
youth and those people who are just beginning to learn how to fish.
We're going to have WDFW on, I think actually next week that one of the guys
who actually organizes the trout Derby is going to come on and talk to us about
just the trout fishing and stuff.
Yeah.
That's awesome.
Yeah.
That's so cool.
Same with me, dude.
I mean, I just like this time, well, you know, it's like, I'm like, want to go
shed hunting.
I want to go bass fishing.
I want to go steelhead fishing.
I want to go springers from the river a little bit too.
Yeah.
And that sounds like some bougie, but you know, there's people that, that go
really hard at anything.
You just need your break to recharge at times.
And I know yours is shed hunting.
Mine is going out and forging wild edibles, you know, in certain times in
certain places in certain times of the year.
And it's like, you know, it's, there's just something that recharges you about
it.
And I think a lot more people can relate to that.
It's just like a hike.
It's, it's the hiking.
I think a lot of it's the hiking aspect, hiking in search of something.
Yeah.
You know, the Easter egg hunt of sorts and the, the, the gap for success, you
know what I mean?
Like how hard you work, the better day you might have.
And for us, it's like, that's how our brains work where it's like, I just want
to work hard at something and, and have something successful come of it, you
know?
Yeah.
And that's, that's the, the nice part.
And staring at steelhead bobbers floating down the river is not just that every
time to get out and lift your eyes up from the ground and not look at the water
all day.
And just, it's just, well, even like today I went springer fishing.
It was like the first time in a long time that I just like really had a blast
fishing.
Yep.
The fishing was just really good.
They were eating twitching jigs.
They were eating eggs.
They were eating plugs.
It was just good.
It's just this year, the fishing, you know, I think that's, we start to get
demotivated as salmon and steelhead anglers out here in the Northwest because
we go through these like just massive ups and downs and we still go out and we try,
but it's like, man, you start to get discouraged.
So when we see these years like this, where it's just good fishing everywhere,
it's really nice.
Yeah.
Where if you're trying hard enough, if you're putting in your time, yeah, you
can't say you have the best bait and everything ever.
And by the law, you went fishing twice and I didn't get them.
It was a crappy year.
Like if you could try hard enough, I've had my days.
I didn't catch any, but then I've had a lot of days where I did catch fish and
it's been awesome considering the fish we're talking about, which is yeah, it's
very, very, man, I got a piece sitting in my fridge right now.
I'm going to cook tomorrow.
I got, so I got smoked fish.
I got, I mean, yeah, where's, I thought you were going to bring me some of that.
I should have a, I made some killer sushi the other night.
Unbelievable.
Out of my smoked salmon, smoked salmon, some wild celery that I picked.
Cucumber, a little bit, a little bit of a cream cheese and carrot.
Rolled that baby up.
Put some homemade, some ghost scream, spicy mayo, and then some, um,
holy sung toss.
Yum.
Oh, just, just killed it.
I have to say, like I had never tried morel mushrooms.
Me and Jordan just filmed an episode.
If you guys haven't checked it out on the channel, we cooked literally.
A feast for Kings at my house.
I mean, we had Porter house steaks.
We had spot prawns.
We had morels, we had steelhead.
Asparagus.
Like we had literally everything and it was so good.
But those stuffed morels, they might be like top 10 food ever.
I mean, like you should see the bowl of them.
I have right now.
We're going to do a beast.
It's all the, I need to eat them again for sure.
Yeah, I definitely want to eat them again.
Cause they were, and then, and again, guys, if you're like scared of
mushrooms or you don't like mushrooms, I really encourage you to try morels.
If you get a chance, because they really do not taste like a
mushroom, they're expensive.
You want to buy some, hit me up.
They do not taste like a mushroom.
They don't, they almost have like a, their own meat flavor, but they
don't taste like any other meat.
It's so hard to even describe them.
It's one of the, I've been told, and I've read that it, your body
digests those, those style of mushrooms in particular, the same with the
same enzymes as it does like elk steak or any sort of real red meat protein.
So it's a really good, it's a very healthy alternative to
For those of you that know, Marlin's been having a hard time
eating a ton of beef and stuff lately.
And I know I try not to eat a lot of beef myself, but I
like to stick to wild game.
Um, but it's a great alternative.
And if you can find them, and if you're in the Northwest, they're a lot easier
to find this time of year, you'll see them pop up at grocery stores and stuff.
But even just any wild mushroom, I say in particular, cause you can almost
always find them at least dehydrated.
Yeah, they're great.
They go, they go with a lot of good, what grocery stores around here.
So do you know any, you'll see him at, um, um, whole foods, more
like smaller, very expensive places.
The, you know what I mean?
The BG produce carries them and get them some.
That's funny.
Well, all some other exciting things that we got coming up.
So we have some sturgeon seasons.
They're starting now here in the Northwest, which is cool.
Every year they give us a few small select dates to go out and catch
keeper sturgeon, which are one of my favorite fish to eat that we
have in the Northwest, just a really flaky, amazing white fish.
Yeah.
Imagine sturgeon stuff.
Morale.
I don't know what we're going to do this weekend, dude.
Like I need to go.
I need to hurt.
Fishing was bad.
Well, and then I was talking to him about it and I was talking to cam about it.
And cam said that this happens every year.
Like it's still way too early.
And so I don't know if we should waste our time going down there.
It might be just a goat chase.
Like I'm thinking we stay here in the spring or fishing's open.
So why don't we just go sit on a, we shouldn't, we shouldn't.
We have to at least film spring or vision.
We have to at least one day.
Okay.
We haven't done it.
I'm fine.
We haven't done an anchor episode.
Are these fun?
I'll bring some bad-ass stuff.
Yeah.
We can cook all amazing and ----.
All this stuff.
I think these guys from crap.
What is that?
Morales.
These guys from fillet away want to go spring or fishing for sure.
The one guy like never gets to go.
So I think it'll be good.
It's going to be good for sure.
So I can't do as long as we take Kim's boat.
We'll take my boat.
You don't have a canopy.
Better bring an umbrella.
Dang it.
Cam is going to be probably guiding.
I'm sure.
He's a, I just saw, he sent out an email campaign to all of his email clients.
So he's probably, we'll be out there chasing them.
I'm sure some of you addicts will be out there as well.
So if you don't know what I'm talking about, that gave us another opener in
the Columbia river for spring Chinook.
So if you're in the Pacific Northwest, listen to this podcast, it's May 12th
through the 18th and I think June 1st through the 15th, but don't quote me.
Check your regs, check the emergency regs, but there is some salmon seasons
opening in the Columbia, which is really exciting.
That first through the 15th is going to be really good.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to it.
I'm glad we get to fish too.
Cause I was going to start guiding a little bit more in the summer when you
have longer days and have some days off that Sean needs to edit and stuff.
And so it's good to see that there'll be something to do.
Well, and the nice thing too is like make that call and fall back
into the nowhere to go.
Yeah.
Brigade.
Well, May 16th to opens for steelhead in the Columbia as well.
You can get, you know, both catch steelhead, catch salmon.
And a lot of times if you're anchored in the right spots, it's pretty
easy to get steelhead and salmon.
So I'm excited about that season coming up.
Other than that, still trying to chase some bass.
I've been doing a lot of bass fishing.
I went to the coastal lake that I love to fish and we just absolutely
hammered them and we caught 60 bass.
Just all of them, you know, nothing smaller than two pounds
up into the four pound range.
So that was really, really fun.
We couldn't find any of the big ones, really, really big ones.
I think we were about a week too early, but yeah.
And now I just haven't been able to get back.
So now it's over.
I missed it.
Yeah.
The thing about the Northwest with, if you guys are out here, bass
fishing in the Northwest, your window to catch those big fish is really small.
Like once they go into their pre-spawn, you have about two
weeks and then it's over.
Yeah.
Good luck.
Yeah.
I'm excited to go do it.
Yeah.
I'm going to, I want to do it.
Smallmouths crazy.
Yeah.
You've never done that.
Have you?
I've done it.
I grew up doing it, but I've never gone and done it.
Well, we're going to go do it's fricking can be insane, dude.
Like a hundred fish days.
Like it's nuts and they're good.
They're really, really like a small mouth bass fish.
Taco is fricking good.
I'm like, can't wait to eat them.
It's good.
It's really, I'll try anything twice.
I'll try anything twice.
Uh, what about, what else do we don't have any trips planned?
We're going to New York.
We are going to do some salmon fishing in New York, which
man, I need to get gin.
Oh, I need to call Kyle and get that figured out.
Cause that's June and July.
If we're not working right now.
So I just need to figure out because he won't hit his, the
dates he sent me were way long.
Like he wants, he wanted us over there in Michigan for like 10 days.
And it's like, we can't do that, dude.
So like, are you going to be able to come over and get us?
And cause it was like 50 miles out on Lake Superior or something.
That's what the worry is with this trip.
Um, is he doesn't want to like have so many plans that are wind
regulated because if it gets just like the ocean and they get a weather
system or not just like a heat wave that goes through, it's going to be
windy on the lake and it's going to screw us.
And so he's like trying not to do like what happened in Alaska last
year, where we went out and had a great plan and then got blown out
two of the days and a really hard time filming because of it.
Yeah.
That's the hard thing about doing the thing on the island
that he wants to do.
And yeah, we'll just have to see, but that's other future plans.
We got coming at, we're really planning on doing a lot of travel
in this year, addicts and getting into other regions.
Yeah.
For what?
Sockeye and do it yourself.
Do it yourself.
I don't know, dude.
Welcome to the most scatterbrained, uh, podcast in history.
Everybody.
This is how our brains work.
We're planning our fishing trips right here with you guys.
So comment below on where we should go.
Where do you guys think we should go visit?
Where do you guys think we should go?
Fish and film.
We'll call this one spring outdoor anxiety.
Exactly.
Well guys, a couple of little small announcements before you leave me.
Before I leave you for the night, we do have trout floats available
on addicted dot fishing.
Finally, you guys have been asking for those things.
We finally got them in stock.
So the addicted trout floats are available.
We got new steelhead floats in there.
We have J T's official chrome dipped flashers in stock.
The three 60 flashers fully chrome dipped.
They are absolutely insane mirror finish.
Probably going to be the best flasher out on the water this year.
It just, the amount of flash, the thing flows, the amount of flash
that it throws out is ridiculous.
You can like, I can't even describe it.
You just have to see how mirrored is.
It literally looks like a mirror.
I think it's going to really put some fish.
I'm going to put one in my dry bag for on long trips.
Yeah, I was trying to figure out ways to, I'm going to try to hang
flashers off my boat this year with no lines, with no like hooks.
That's a great idea.
Yeah.
Where they can just come down just as attractors coming off
the bottom of the boat.
Just like a, like a, like a 10 pound lead or whatever.
And then like three of them with nothing behind them and like a six, six inch
bumper and just drop it off, tie it off to your cleat.
Yep.
Dude, that's a effing great idea.
Oh God.
I was thinking about it last year.
I was like, man, I really, you know, cause a lot of times when you see
the track of all, yeah.
And when you see guys like Cameron and some of these guys that have
cause to have six dudes in their boat, the reason they're so effective
at fishing is because they're, for one, they're covering way more water
than we are way more, you know, depth across their boat with six rods.
But also they have six flashers out.
They're just freaking throwing out.
That's just a crazy flash.
So I think it can make a big difference.
I'm definitely going to be trying it this year, but make
sure you guys get those.
It doesn't sound like JT has very many of them.
So if you guys get an opportunity to buy those hop on it right away before
they sell out and you don't get them.
And I don't think I got anything else.
What do you got?
Nope.
Jordan, we'll be guiding again.
It sounds like a little bit this summer.
I'm sure there'll be a few days here and there.
That's not going to bombardment going, but yeah, definitely.
My point was I'm looking forward to getting, do some salmon fishing and the
big rivers and stuff this year.
So cool.
But yes, we'll appreciate you guys.
Some hovering.
Lot, mostly that.
Yeah, I'm not going to sit on anchors.
Sorry, but I don't have the patience for that.
All right, everyone.
Well, thank you so much for listening to the addicted fishing podcast.
We appreciate every single one of you.
Don't forget, make sure you subscribe.
We're on Google podcasts.
We are on Apple.
We're on Spotify, all the different platforms.
We appreciate you.
We'll see you on the road.
