Tom and I will walk you through some of these win totals here.
Tom, let's walk with Seattle for a minute here.
And this is look, you know, I've been wrong about a lot of stuff.
It's just the way that the baseball season works, but I've
been very disappointed watching them play Tom and I saw them
play in person and I and I when I saw them play here in South
Florida, they did not have Julio Rodriguez.
So I do want to say that I do think their pitching is great
and I think it is elite and I think their bullpen is great
and I think it is elite, but I think their offense is dreadful
Tom and I just don't think they have enough again this season
to get over the hump.
It's not to say that I like Texas better, but I think Texas
may end up winning the division and I'm going to be under on
Seattle and maybe some changes need to be made there man,
because they have no business not being 5-6 games over 500
at this point in my opinion.
I think you put it best.
It's like you can be wrong about things but from Seattle,
it's not wrong.
It's like you're just disappointed.
Where what happened and what happened with this team?
And I know Andrews play part in and Rodriguez missed some
time Cal Raleigh missed a lot but we have one part of the
team with the pitching staff, which is so unbelievably good
to have the rest of it lagging behind is just unacceptable.
So when it comes to Seattle them not winning 85 games, I think
that's the one I would go to like they just will not have
enough juice to get them over the hump trending down there
82.6 right now, which is crazy.
All right, so the Brewers are trending up.
They're unbeatable at home.
Tom and I have talked about just how well they have played
every year.
We think they're not going to be there April came.
We thought up.
This is the year Milwaukee doesn't compete.
Well, look where they are.
Now, whoever they call up from the Miners pitch as well.
We saw it on Saturday with Drohan.
They put him into the rotation.
He looks just like Harrison Harrison just like Peralta
Peralta just like Burns.
It doesn't matter.
The Brewers just always get these 5-6 hitting guys and then
they somehow piece it together.
The Brewers probably go over this.
I'm with you Tom here.
Like this is just this is just too good of a team.
And by the way, when you hit the ball at the Brewers, they
catch the ball Mitchell Ortiz.
Everybody plays great defense on that team too, but I will
say this.
I don't see them winning any playoffs.
They're just they're built to win the regular season.
But if Philly's going to get players and Atlanta's going
to get players, they're going to play against LA Tom.
Sure.
They can win a series.
Can the Brewers but I don't think they're going far with
the team that's constructed great team for the regular
season, but not for the postseason.
Yeah, and the Brewers I wasn't I wasn't high on their win
total coming into the year.
I thought the Brewers had a chance to win the division, but
just where they were and how they're constructed.
I always thought they were missing a piece.
I still think they are missing a piece, but see them getting
to 90 plus wins.
I think would be the easy route right now.
They get to 90 wins.
They can win the division, but winning more than two
postseason series would would kind of shock me 56 wins for
the Braves and 55 for the Phillies.
The Braves are right where they thought they would be at the
beginning of the year.
Despite the injuries that they've had two consecutive years
with a lot of injuries to their club.
They seem to fight through it, but I think that this is going
to fly over here Tom because if I remember correctly Alex
Anthopolis the president of the Atlanta Braves, this is his
time of the year when they get to the trade deadline.
They don't they they're going to they're going to add a lot
of little pieces here to get better.
I think they make some major moves here.
That's not to say that Philly can't catch them and overtake
them, but when you really think about it the last two years
of the Braves here Tom if they don't start off last year in
April so bad, I think was 0 and 7 or 0 and 8 just horrific.
They pretty much were at 500 the rest of the year this year
that they have shown.
I think they're in it.
You know, the only thing is is that Austin Riley is concerning.
I don't know if he's done or what the story is.
He's not hitting anymore, but one bat for them one pitcher
for them.
I think the Braves keep winning.
Yeah, they keep winning.
Question is, you know, do I think they can get to 95 plus wins
that might be pushing it for me?
They still and not only are they make moves are also making
moves and extending guys at the trade deadline.
They always seemingly extend guys for eight years 70 years,
whatever it is and lock them up.
So yeah, the Braves do need one more hitter one more hitter
plus getting a cougar back to push them into that 95 win
range, but I would go 90 plus at this point.
This is this is what I don't understand here.
Tom.
You'll have to help me out here.
So the Mets right now on Cal.
She are at 75.
How are the Mets going to get to 75 wins like in one world?
They have they have three good players.
This is a little bit of a stunning number for me.
I don't know.
I just don't see it.
And if the Mets are punting are they going to get to 70 wins?
I mean literally Tom like they I don't I don't get this number
maybe because it's a New York market.
I'm not following you.
Tell me how do they get to 75 that puts them in the range
of almost being 500 right?
So they have they are as of now.
They're 41 and 58, which is 99 games played, which means
they have 63 remaining.
Let me end this.
They need to win.
What is this?
They need to win 34 more games 34 of their 63 remaining.
They need to win.
That's a bit of a stretch for me.
That means for over 500 something they haven't done in
almost a year.
All right.
So the Dodgers a little bit tricky here because of their
high win total.
But as we've talked about throughout the show, they've all
but wrapped up the division.
So it's going to add maybe not the number one seed.
I don't that that's still sort of in play.
But once they wrap that up Tom, they could have five games
to play and go one and four and be perfectly fine with it,
you know, and that's the issue here.
It's really that simple.
If you were holding any type of Dodgers win ticket, you really
got to be sweating that out because again when you were
sitting with a 12 game lead as of now, you know, as we're
approaching, you know, July 20th, that's going to be the
same as it is on August 20th.
They can have it wrapped up essentially and they will they
will be in cruise control coasting down the hill to the
division title and being healthy for October 1st.
That's all that matters.
So seeing Mookie and Ohtani and Freeman and all these guys
sitting an extra day or two should not surprise them.
And frankly, that's just going to provide an opportunity
to bet against them as the season comes to an end.
