A Family Home Nestled in the Jungle

This house did not begin with a form, it began with three trees.

Casa Tres Pochotes, by FAMM Arquitectura, in Playa Hermosa de Cóbano, Costa Rica, is shaped around three existing pochote trees that were already on the site.

Instead of clearing the land first, the house lets the trees guide its organization. They define the terraces. They frame the views. They create shade. And they help decide how the house opens to the tropical landscape.

A central white brick core organizes two wooden wings, while pochote wood, exposed concrete, teak ceilings, red flooring, and black details create a warm, grounded palette.

This is not just a tropical house surrounded by nature - it is a house where nature came first.
