We finally got hands-on with the xTool O1 Omni, and in this video we’re testing real features by making real products.
We tested fluorescent ink on canvas, soft white ink on a canvas apron, Pixel-Scan Vision Positioning for flat and textured magnets, print-and-cut acrylic keychains, lenticular trading cards, and xTool’s AI tool to create a stained glass style textured print from a photo.
The xTool O1 Omni is a desktop UV printer designed for makers, laser owners, small business crafters, and custom product sellers who want to add full-color printing, texture, specialty ink effects, and print-and-cut workflows to their shop.
In this video, we’re not just talking about specs. We’re actually making products and testing how these features work in real life.
In this xTool O1 Omni test, we make: • Fluorescent ink canvas art • Canvas apron using soft white ink • Flat UV printed magnets • Textured UV printed magnets • Print-and-cut acrylic keychains • Lenticular trading cards • AI-generated stained glass textured print from a photo
We also talk through what worked well, what surprised us, and what gave us trouble, including the lenticular material alignment.
If you’re wondering whether the xTool O1 Omni can help you make sellable products like magnets, keychains, canvas goods, custom gifts, textured prints, and craft fair items, this video will give you a better look at how the machine performs in a real maker shop.

This video showcases the X-Tool O1 Omni UV printer, highlighting its versatility for small business owners and hobbyists. Through various tests, it demonstrates advanced features like fluorescent inks, a precision vision positioning system, and seamless integration with the X-Tool ecosystem to create a wide range of personalized merchandise on both rigid and flexible materials.
Today we're not just talking about the X-Tool O1 Omni, we're actually testing its features
and making some products. We tested the fluorescent inks, we tested soft white inks,
we did some vision positioning scanning with the software, print and cuts, textured magnets,
lenticular, if you don't know what that is stick around we'll share with you,
some AI stained glass technology within the software, and yes one of these did give us a
What is up? Welcome back! We know you love to do it, build it, and make it,
and we're here to help you sell it. Today we're testing out some features on the
X-Tool O1 Omni. We're going to test these features with some real world projects.
We're not going to print some random rectangles of sadness. We're going to test these on things
that you might sell at craft shows or on your website. Things like keychains, ornaments,
some tumblers using the rotary attachment, bridge magnets, yes, and some features that you
maybe not have thought of yet. Things like fluorescent inks on canvases or canvas bags.
Ladies love a good canvas bag. I always have to have a new tote or that crazy lenticular feature
where it does the click flop of the photo. Do you ever want to make your own trading cards?
We're going to show you how. Test number one, fluorescent ink. So we have a dual head model,
so here you can see there are two print heads in this machine. This does come in a couple of
different configurations. If you get a single head model that is CMYK plus white plus varnish,
meaning all the colors plus white and varnish, and that'll allow you to do any of the printing.
You can print on tumblers. It comes with the tumbler attachment. You can print on canvas,
coins, pretty much anything. The texture, you can pretty much do anything a regular UV printer does.
But with the second or the dual head, you get a couple of different configurations. You can choose
to have your dual head add a flexible white ink, which will allow you to print on things like
canvas and the canvas totes I mentioned earlier, as well as fluorescent inks. So this model is the
model we have with the extra inks in it. So we have a fluorescent yellow, fluorescent red,
and then we have soft white and hard white. Well, it's not hard white. What do they call it? Like
rigid white. So basically hard white. Now the other configuration for your dual head does come
with the CMYK plus white plus varnish, but you also get apparel inks, things for DTF, which means
you can make transfers to make t-shirts or DTG. You can print directly to a garment. Now for our
test number one, we did the fluorescent inks on canvas. So I printed this image and I have added
the fluorescent inks over top. Now this image already had the bright colors that you see,
the blue, the reds and the yellows. But what I've had added here are the fluorescent reds and the
fluorescent yellows. And you can't really see them printed on here. You see it just a little bit here
in the blue. You certainly can't see it on top of the yellow and I can't see it on top of the reds.
But when you add that black light, these elements that have the fluorescent or inks on them really
stand out and pop and they're really bright. This is going to be great for things like Halloween
items, party items, different kinds of merchandise where you want to add that pop of color or that
may be used in a black light or dark situation. Right. Places like dance clubs, strips clubs,
Spencer's gifts. No, we're not making those items. Now the process to add the fluorescent
inks was super simple. You can really do any at, you can add the fluorescent ink wherever you want.
It's not over the whole image. So I simply printed the image and then I chose spot color and I chose
where I wanted the color. So I selected each area. I just said contiguous color. So anywhere that had
the yellow, anywhere that had the red. I said I wanted the spot color. I chose which fluorescent
color I wanted to add. And we were able to print it out. It did the main color and then fluorescent
colors. Now this might not be a product for everyone, but when it's there, you know it's there.
And this is something that will definitely stop the scroll on social media or stop the stroll
in the craft event. It does give you that, wait, let me say that again vibe. And not every printer
can do this. So adding this fluorescent bright colors to your products really make them stand out
and set you apart. It gives you something a little bit different that others might not have.
And I know a couple of you followers out there that follow us. I see that you love Halloween
designs and this is really going to add something special to your Halloween products. Test number two
soft ink on canvas aprons. Have that magic mic feel. See fluorescent inks. Now I really was excited
to try these soft inks. You know I love a good t-shirt. We have the apparel printer and I love
making t-shirts. But with this model you can't make t-shirts. It's not something you're gonna
wash often. But if you have a canvas bag or maybe a zipper pouch. In this case I had these canvas
aprons. You just saw our freedom bundle. You know we were giving these away free with our freedom
bundle. So I thought I would print something directly on the canvas pouch here. And so how I
did that is let me give this to you. This is just a magnet. It just magnets right on here. This will
kick out the bed so that you can change it out easily. I'm going to take that off. These have
little levers on the side and it locks right in. You know you've got it because it locks in there.
And then all I had to do here was lay this on the bed. It's sticky. It didn't ruin my mat.
I'll give you a couple tips about how to print on this thing in a future video.
But for purposes of showing the soft beats and how that worked. Gotta get your hand out of there
Garrett. Click the button and it loads in. And you can print directly to your canvas or semi-flexible
items. So like I said not t-shirts but if it's a little bit rigid just semi-flex. This is perfect
for that. Things like leather. I already mentioned the bag. So this is different from the rigid stuff
because the rigid stuff gets brittle and it will crack. It will crack that's right. And this is so
you can feel. It doesn't feel like DTF. No it doesn't have any glue behind it. Because it is printing
directly to the fabric. And in this case I did not add a white background because I had the canvas
on there. A little ASMR. Is that what that is? So let me tell you a couple of features about the soft
inks and the rigid inks. So here you get to choose. So if you're doing something like the canvas apron
you're going to choose soft. If it's semi-flex you're going to choose soft. You'll choose rigid
if you're doing things like acrylic or any metal. Yes anything else that's hard and it's not going
to flex at all. That's where you're going to want to use your rigid inks. So this turned out really
well. Did I have to do anything special for this? No it's simple in the software. You're going to
load your image. You're going to choose what color white ink that you're using. So we'll do a little
drop down and I'll say that I'm using the soft ink. And then you can choose whether you want to add
white only, color only, white plus color or the other way around. Sometimes you'll want to paste
print your image face down and then so you're going to do color first and you're going to add
white on top. Things like clear acrylic where you don't want it printed right on the front you might
want to print it on the back. Test number three. Pixel scan visioning position system. That was a
mouthful. It was a mouthful. But this was a really cool feature and I really liked this feature.
What's great about the X-Tool UV printer is it does integrate with the rest of the X-Tool ecosystem.
So it's using the same software and you're going to use the same technologies. It's all going to
look the same if you have any of the other X-Tool products. You don't have to learn a new software.
And then what's cool about this is we got these ceramic magnets. I have a couple that are in
rectangle shape and a couple that are in circle shape. I added all four of them to the bed and
then you scan the bed. Now this is cool because I thought like she said it was going to build off of
systems and software that they already have. So I thought it was going to work a lot like the P3
where it does the all the pictures and stitches them all together. But this works more like a
photocopy machine. It scans across and scans large areas edge to edge. Yeah I think it can do the
entire bed in two passes. So it does the first half of the bed, moves the bed up, scans the second half
of the bed and it has an image of the entire bed. So you know exactly where to position your items
on the bed. It knows exactly where the items are in your bed. So once you do the scan you can select
smart mask and that's where it'll recognize the objects on the bed. So you simply say subject.
It'll find the objects that are on the bed. It'll say hey you want to put your image on these objects.
I say yes. And then when it comes back to the design window you'll drag your object in and it
will only print where the object was that was scanned. So my image may have been a little bit
larger than the rectangle but it's not going to over spray. So that's what's really cool about
this pixel scan is once it recognizes that your object is two by three if your image is two and a
half by three and a half it's only going to print the two by three size that it actually scanned.
It is not going to do any kind of an over print because it's using the pixel scan. Now you have
to select that feature because sometimes I just scan the bed and I didn't necessarily use the
hey select my objects. But in this case it was perfect for this project because once I picked
up my magnets there was no over spray on the sticky mat at all. We also added some texture
on one of them. So three of them were just flat print. One of them actually had texture on it and
it was able to do all of that in one job as well. Now adding the texture was super easy. It was just
a radio button over on the side and then you can select how deep you'd like the texture. Yeah it
was a tab I think it says flat texture and then relief. Relief is going to give you the most
amount of texture and you can choose just how much. Well we did two magnets earlier and we
decided to take it to the limit and see. Now it says it can go ahead and print seven millimeters
deep or high. So I cranked it up to seven millimeters and let it rip and it was printing
and it got really tall and I panicked and stopped it only because I didn't want to waste all my
white ink. Yes that's that's what the problem was. This was actually an hour print and you could see
it's really tall. But the second this still had another hour to go and I thought okay we're just
going to waste all our white ink trying to see just how much texture we can have for for nothing.
Now if I was doing something really cool and I really needed that texture okay I will do it but
in this case we were just messing around so I didn't want to waste my ink. But it's go a lot
higher than our other machines. Yeah our other desktop machines. It's pretty tall. Yeah it's
pretty tall. Test number four the old print and cut. This is the whole reason I agreed to test
the machine. I love a print and cut or a cut and print it doesn't matter I go both ways.
I do a lot of print and cuts every day and when I heard this was living in the same ecosystem
where I can do a print on one machine take it and throw it in the other machine.
Just throw it in there any old way or place it or place it gently and straight. There you go.
Using the same exact software and same canvas. And not have to do any manual alignment. No manual
alignment and just hit cut. I was in. I was like send me the machine let me test that out. And I'm
gonna say I'm impressed. It did an amazing job lining it up. Yeah yeah. With no bleed. With no
bleed it did great. With the keychains with the bleed on there. I mean I know it's dead center.
It looks great. It was super easy. You do have to set your project up to be a print and cut.
You can't start a project and then make it a print and cut. Not that I know of. This is this
is what tripped me up a little bit. I spent quite a bit of time and Garrett spent quite a bit of
time trying to figure it out. I was looking for a button. We were in. Yeah we were in the wrong spot.
So when you come into the X-Tool software and you're on your home screen and there's a black
button in the top right that says plus new project. There's now a drop down next to it
where you can say multi-machine new project. I do enjoy it. I enjoyed that I didn't have to try
to place my own registration marks. I enjoyed that I didn't have to try to line them out manually or
by eye. You didn't have special you didn't have to put registration marks in your design. I just
went and grabbed a PNG file of our Jamboree SE logo and then I added it in the software and simply
added and for these two I added an offset. It was just a button and I said how big I wanted my offset
and then I knew it was an SVG and I said I want this layer the offset layer. I want that to be cut
and I chose the machine I wanted it on. So I said P3 in this case and then for the print it already
knew that I wanted this one on the Omni printer because it was a picture and not an SVG file.
Now if you're stingy with your material or using a piece of scrap material you do need to make sure
you have enough space around your registration marks because it adds them probably a half inch
a half inch away from your your image. So you're going to need at least a half inch buffer around
your image when it adds these little registration marks and they need to be flat and full. This one
here got printed on the paper and it wasn't able to register it as a full bullseye registration
mark. It got a little got a little wonky couldn't scan it quite right. So you do need a buffer.
Try number two worked great. It worked beautifully. Test number five lenticular. Now lenticular
is that type of image like baseball cards back in the day where the batter would be here and then
you twist the card and he's here. You know the old baseball card with the twist. The dragon eyes open
the dragon eyes closed. You know the garbage pail kids not puking. Garbage pail kids puking.
It's that kind of thing. Now it's not necessarily the printer that prints the lenticular. The
lenticular is the material. It has little ridges in there that will flip-flop the image or create a
and how you set up your image to print. So there are other softwares that will combine two images
so that you can print a lenticular card like this. But this is actually built in to the
X-Tool software ecosystem. So all I had to do was go in and say additional applications and
lenticular was actually a choice there. It's it walked you through step by step. We only chose to
two images but you can do up to 20 images. So you can really show somebody in motion. Have that whole
horse running every step of the way. So Garrett made a really cool and this was on our social
media this week too. He made up two superhero action figures. I was a He-Man action figure and
Kim was a She-Ra action figure. And so we were able to show this on this card. So in one direction you
can see me. In another direction you can see Garrett. And we were able to make our lenticular
action figure cards using the software. Again the printer just printed on this material. You can hear
the texture on it. You're actually going to print on the flat smooth side. This one gave us a little
bit of trouble. A little bit of trouble. This thing was a lenticular lining up nightmare. No it's not a
nightmare but it is really important. Because these lines are so thin. These little prisms that bounce the
light back and forth are so thin. You need to have your image or this card lined up perfectly.
It needs to be perfectly square to the bed. So it if it's even off a little bit your
motion is invisible. It kind of messes up those lines. So that is our... We definitely need a jig.
Going forward I'll probably make a jig to line these up so that I am getting it perfect. So this
yeah you can line it up to the edge and it's going to be perfectly square for the side and the bottom
and then the print will be perfect. But even if it's slightly askew it just looks wonky.
Your image you're just not going to see it very clearly. But it was really cool technology
integrated right in the Atom software within XTool and some of the XTool applications.
They're just right there. You just basically click pick which one you want to use and it walks you
right through step by step. I actually did it the very first try other than I didn't line it up
correctly. I was off just a wee bit. I didn't realize how important that was. But once we nail this down
I'm going to our pals that own a baseball card shop and I'm going to ask them if they want to be
able to offer a little league flip-flop baseball card like the old tops baseball cards if they want
to be able to offer those in their shop for personalization. Right custom items I think
they're going to love it. It is gonna it's like the perfect technology for their business. Not
even parents and grandmas would eat this up. Test number six tumbler test or the rotary tool.
This was so simple to do. This was also a bit a nice pleasant surprise. You just take the
magnet small bed off and that goes right on. It'll do 40 ounce tumblers with the handle attached
without doing anything. Really you're just going to let the software know that you are using a
Stanley type tumbler. Any type of tumbler. There's a 3d model and then it's got a list of
80 something that will pull from. You just choose your tumbler type and say whether or not you have
a handle or don't have a handle. On this particular one I wanted to tell you another feature that it
has again with the scanning software that's included. It does a 360 scan of your tumbler
here and so for this tumbler I had previously printed our little family image on one side.
It also has a Stanley logo on the front side. So I put this onto the tumbler attachment.
Another cool feature is this little knob. You don't have to add or remove anything here. I'm
just going to put this on add the knob and it's good to go. It is in there and nice and secure.
It does do different things like ornaments or completely round objects or things that are
it has the little end piece that you slide right on the end. Oh which is over there at that table.
But I wanted to show that in the software you can scan it scans the entire 360 view of this tumbler
and then it lays it out flat and so I could see that this image it actually split the back side
of the tumbler here and I had half of my image on this side of the view half on the left side
and then I could see where the Stanley logo was. So I was able to place my image wherever I wanted
in the free space. So if I had an image already on here and I wanted to add to it like I did I can
do that super easy because I've scanned everything that was currently on the tumbler. I can visually
see exactly where it's going to be positioned on the tumbler attachment and like I said it was
super simple to add it. I don't have to screw anything in. I didn't have to use any kind of
screwdriver. It just magnets right on the bed and comes right back off again. So I love this
feature as well. And once we installed it it does magnet down and the software recognized immediately
that the rotary tool was installed. It says oh hey you switched to the rotary tool do you want me to
switch the design to the rotary tool. Yep and that's all I had today. Test number seven. We tested
stained glass. I love stained glass. We've been doing a lot of it lately. I have to do it in either
Illustrator or Photoshop. I prefer Photoshop. So this is one of the AI features within the X-Tools
software. We took a simple watercolor photo of some hummingbirds and said hey I want to turn this
into stained glass. And it did an amazing job of creating a whole square stained glass frame. And
I already had this piece of clear acrylic cut in this shape. So I laid it on my bed let it scan the
object and then I slid my frame right over top and it only printed on the shape that I had scanned
in. So that's that pixel scan again. We also were able to do several layers of texture. The first
time I tried to do the relief texture and now I forgot that right now it does the texture using
white ink. So once I did make it texturize using their software and gave it some a good raise to it
I realized that it's no longer stained glass. You can't see it through it anymore. It's just a nice
round picture. But it does look like stained glass. It does look like stained glass. It does a beautiful job with the texture.
It did a great job with the ripples. It did a pretty good job with the raised lead lines.
Now what I did have trouble with is anywhere where it would get dark like some of the darker
leaves those are raised about as high as the leg lines. So it didn't do as good a job as I could do.
Yes. But it did okay. So what are the pros cons and questions? Well my my pro is the print and cut.
I love how easy it is. It's probably one of the my it is my favorite feature of the new printer.
I love that we'll just throw that on there. I can throw it in there without thinking and lining
it up and hit go. I enjoy it. You know we love UV printing. We have several other UV printers so
I have been pretty impressed with this printer. The things that I feel like are the pros. I am
really impressed with the tumbler feature and how easy it was to add and use the tumbler with the
handle. It just did a whole 40 ounce tumbler without having to do anything special. I was able to put it
on and use it really quick and easily. I love the pixel scan being able to recognize the object on
the bed and then be able to add my image right over that object area and then it only prints
the object that was scanned. And then the third thing I love being able to yes. I knew you love
the soft things. Yes because I love t-shirts. So being able to add this and print directly on the
canvas or any of the other little small soft items without having to do anything special or
even use any kind of a heat press. If you're doing DTF you're gonna have to always heat up your heat
press. I didn't have to do that. I was able to print directly on this canvas bag here and that
was a really cool feature too. I can't wait to do more with that. Now I like the lenticular. I think
if we can get it to work or maybe if they can get it to work with the smart masking or something
where it will snap snap it correctly snap it aligned with my little piece here. That would be
really cool. So I don't know about how how well that's going to work or if it'll ever get used.
Some of the other things that we yeah lenticular alignment, batch consistency. I didn't have any
problem with the scanning there but I did one time when I put the cut print and cut feature
when I put the acrylic in a little wonky. It didn't recognize. Well was that where was that
same one that we printed on the paper? Oh yeah we decided that maybe that was because it was
printed a little bit on the paper and a little bit cut off. So maybe that works consistently
every time. I haven't tried that. I also haven't tried washing the apron and seeing what will
happen here if I washed it. I haven't been able to test that yet or that durability on the flexible
fabrics and what its adhesion is like over time. And then I haven't done the cost per product.
I will say and this is something I had mentioned earlier is that the Xtool Omni printer does have
125 milliliter cartridges. So they're a little bit bigger than some of the other printers and
the ink is a little bit cheaper. So it makes them you get more for a little bit more a little bit
less money and it'll make your products a little bit more cost effective. Now these are ink cartridges
they're not ink wells so to close the ink system. Yeah and another feature that I didn't actually
talk about that was really great with this product and I think a lot of a lot of the printers now
have ink stirring. So they know that those white inks have sediment that settle at the bottom and
they must be stirred. But this actually has ink circulation. So it's always circulating the inks
over time over I don't know whatever certain periods of time every 24 hours making sure it's
through the system. Xtool also advertises that during that ink circulation process
and before it goes to sleep it will go to sleep and put well after after 24 hours of no use
it will flush the ink and add the cleaning solution to the head so that the head won't dry
out you won't crack it. But some of the other challenges you may have heard is that by doing
that it's wasting a lot of ink. So Xtool is stating that with this machine it's only going
to keep a little bit of ink in there. Three milliliters it keeps two milliliters of ink in
the head instead of some that keep 10 milliliters of ink inside the head. So it's only flushing a
little bit of ink and you're only wasting a little bit of ink if it does sit and idle over time it's
only flushing just a little bit at a time. So that's another one of its little features. Let's
see oh and the other thing I wanted to say is a plus that I didn't add in here is it is super
beginner friendly because it's in this Xtool eco um Xtool environment and the ecosystem with all
the other software it really does walk you through and yeah every process step by step every time
I clicked on a new feature like the stand glass or the lenticular it said do you want to do it
this way this way or this way and I would choose which option and then it said great now load your
two pictures and so it really walks you through step by step and makes it super easy especially
if you've never done any uv printing before it is a super great beginner friendly machine. Now do you
want to get this machine if you're a small business owner wanting to add uv ink or color to your laser
projects this is going to be a great tool if you're already an Xtool owner this is a great addition to
your Xtool environment if you're a small business owner and you want to add personalization for some
uv products or personalization yes this is a great way to do that and if you want to add things like
additional details things like the stained glass we talked about or photography if you want to
print images of a family you can now do that with a uv printer. It's also great for prototyping who
it's not great for is somebody who's already doing the uv printing or somebody who's doing
large format printing or bulk quarters like big hundreds of maybe race medals I'm not gonna do
600 race medals in this thing I mean I guess you could you could it's gonna take a bit it's not
gonna be quick about it but if you're doing something like prepping for a craft show I know
a lot of our followers are doing door hangers and you're thinking to yourself oh great I don't have
to paint anymore well painting adds a little nice extra touch you can see it's a hand-painted item
but if you're doing 200 door hangers for saying something like a fall or Christmas show
you're gonna have to get started real early to do something on a machine like this
so that's who it's not for but if you want to do small items keychains earrings small little
lighted discs like this here like we've got on the pup here for the saint glass or tumblers oh
my gosh if you want to add color into your tumblers then this machine is going to be great for
something like that now we've shown you a lot of products that we've done today what else do you
want to see us try we have some things we haven't yet tried we got these metal awards here you know
we do a lot of these race medals being able to add something that's got some volume to it and
some weight to it like the metal ones uh maybe the coins we haven't tested out my coin yet and
then we got these little legos how fun are these little guys we're gonna lego kim and garrett and
do some printed legos i see that in a shortcut i didn't about see a flat bill on the pad right he
doesn't want to do it because it doesn't have a hat and i'm not red well i'm about out of time
i gotta go do some more testing on the x tool oh one omni you should go check it out big thanks
