The journey features renowned bakeries, local artisan crafts, and the restoration of historic architecture, showcasing the city's blend of traditional legacy and modern artistic curation.
Welcome to Mexico City everybody, the city where I was born and raised. Today we're visiting Roma
Norte, one of my favorite neighborhoods in town and I'm gonna show you a few of my favorite spots
before they get too popular so vamonos. So Roma Norte got its name in the early 1900s because
many of its streets were inspired actually by the European cities especially Rome so that's where
comes the name Roma which means Rome in Spanish and Norte because it is divided in two neighborhoods
Roma Norte and Roma Sur, the north and the south part. It got very popular recently a lot of stores
coffee shops galleries michelin star restaurants and so on. We're arriving to the first spot
Panaderia Rosetta or Rosetta Bakery. Okay so one of the most popular things here at Rosetta is the
famous Guadarro. Check this thing out because it's one of my favorites and I can understand why this
panaderia, this bakery is so popular. As you can see it's really really packed but the good thing is
that I already have a table available for me. Here's a quick tip if you arrive early morning
and if you want to skip this line just get a table because we're gonna try that panecito
that cafecito first. Look at this. Okay so this is the legendary Guadarro.
Let's give it a shot.
And that ladies and gents that's where the magic begins.
This is a real experience. This is why I love my city. Born and raised here there is so much
love behind every pastry, every bread and I definitely love the Guadarro so I highly
recommend everybody to try Panaderia Rosetta. What do you think? You liked it? Yeah very good
right? I'm also eating that one. That's amazing. Yeah so what do you think about Mexico City?
Do you like it? I love it. Yeah. Perfect. Please visit us more often.
All right thank you bye.
Another thing that I really really love is that you can find artisans almost on every corner of
this city especially here in Roma Norte and you can buy high-end quality products. I highly recommend
pretty much everybody to support the local businesses because these people are making
Mexico City so special.
His parents and grandparents taught him how to make this pattern.
I ended up buying two bags over there. I'll pick them up next week. Now I'm just going to take you to one of my favorite recent discoveries.
And trust me you're going to love this one. Welcome to Casa Margarita. This is the creation behind a
studio called Proyectos Publicos and their mission is focused on restoring historic buildings and
turning them into creative spaces where art, architecture and hospitality all come together.
In the patio you're going to find a specialty coffee that basically sets the mood from the
moment the day starts. They have amazing pastries and everything is made here at Casa Margarita.
Oh gosh guys everything smells so good like seriously. If you come to the patio try the
matcha with pineapple. It's actually very refreshing especially during summer. Definitely you need to
try the pastries as well as the coffee. So Rosetta you better watch out like honestly this place also
has amazing amazing bakery. So those are my two cents. I really like the vibes here to take a
meeting with my team or have like a quick breakfast. There is this sense of atmosphere very laid-back
relaxed vibes but wait until you see inside this house. You're absolutely gonna love this.
I want you to see how beautiful the interior design is as well as the curation of pieces
like this artwork where the dress literally escapes the canvas and becomes part of the room.
Guys just look at the scale of this space. It's massive. The house was built in 1903 and its former
owner Margarita Quijano was a prominent writer and important figure of the 20th century here
in Mexico. If you pay attention you can even spot the initials of the former owner on the windows.
Casa Margarita is becoming part of Mexico City's cultural scene once again
with live music, readings, residencies for artists and intimate conversations returning to the space.
Bye, chao cacao.
Guys come to Casa Margarita if you're coming from Santiago or Tijuana
please come over to this place. You won't regret. Bye.
Alright guys so I hope you're ready for the cherry on the top because this place is also a boutique
hotel and what I'm about to show you are the prettiest rooms I've seen in a while for such a
small boutique hotel. One thing that I'm noticing about Proyectos Públicos and especially Casa Margarita
like as you can see there is a sense of serenity and I feel like just like home again. Every single
art piece, lamp, everything is so so well curated and they did a fantastic job because honestly
I can even barely hear the noise from the cars and the noise from the street. If you have the
opportunity to stay here I definitely recommend you to come to Casa Margarita. You're not gonna
regret. What do you think? Would you stay here? I would. Okay guys let's keep exploring the rest
of the house. Vamos. This is the largest and most beautiful well-designed spaces in the entire house.
The room that I was at in the first place that was the main room of the former owner Margarita
Quijano. Everything is so so well curated. Everything is like so beautiful and like I said
they try to preserve not only the history of this place but also even the chandeliers, downstairs,
the original dragons that they greet you when you're entering the house. So it's really cool.
They are preserving the legacy and I am in love with the decoration. I'm a big big fan of design
and architecture and this is by far one of my probably top three places in Mexico City.
More than a restaurant or a boutique hotel with shops, this place is redefining Mexico City's
creative scene, bringing together artists, writers, music and community gatherings that
keep the soul of the house alive. Come to casa Margarita. The good thing about Romanorte is that
not only you can buy from the street vendors like we just saw but you can also get very high-end
pieces from local artists at these designer stores. Even these things like the ceramic and everything.
So come to this place. The name of this place is Esperanza Home and I love everything that I'm
seeing right now and they have these beautiful posters of old Mexico like the movies from the 50s
and the 40s. Dicen que soy hombre malo con Luis Aguilar. They're all originals too.
There are originals too so if you want to get some art pieces like posters that no one is
going to have, just come to this place. It's called Esperanza Home and it's also a gallery
and in the back they also have clothing. Wow! I need to show you this guys. You need to check this out.
Wow!
This has been everything for today's video guys and as usual if you like this episode
please don't forget to subscribe and follow me for more. I'll see you guys very very soon.
Come to Mexico City. Mi ciudad por favor. Adios papis and manis.
