Do you want to smell me too?
I'm safe.
Hi.
So what is he a month old now?
June, July.
So he's a month old.
They get weaned at about six months.
But here in a, hopefully by, what, a couple days, we'll have him out of here and he's
got a pen we're building so they can actually eat grass, not have to eat hay, and he'll
get some outside time.
But we wanted to keep him quarantined for a little bit here.
You know, they've got flies and stuff, but you can't, you can't have chemicals around
the babies.
They say eight, 12 weeks, you don't want any kind of, you know, weird chemicals and stuff.
The donkeys have thinner skin than horses and the chemicals can mess them up, can kill
them, make them sick.
So they got to, you know, we try natural fly stuff, but natural fly doesn't, you know,
people on the internet swear by all kinds of weird tea tree oils and all this stuff.
It lasts like four minutes and then the flies come back.
So if anybody has a real true answer, I mean, non-chemicals because we can't, we can't put
chemicals on them or any of our babies really, but if anybody's got a good answer for that,
let me know.
We've looked up so many different options and none of them work.
Once he's outside, it'll be a whole nother story anyways, cause then it'll be, poop will
be gone.
Easier to clean up, easier to maintain.
We haven't been getting in there with mama and baby just to, you know, let them relax,
not feel threatened.
So in a couple of days here, when we get a new pen, I'll show some videos of him running
around in circles like a crazy, crazy kid.
Okay.
Bye.
Okay.
Bye.
