Thank you for watching today, I made this video a couple of years ago for the Craft Stash YT channel, but as that is no longer used, I'm re-uploading it on my page. This is a wonderful papercraft technique and suitable for all abilities.
Construction Glue (Collall Clear All Purpose) https://amzn.to/4iU9RTt Beacon 3 in 1 is very similar and more available in the US, Canada, and Australia.

This tutorial demonstrates how to create a highly dimensional 3D card using a layered cutting technique. By separating an image into multiple foreground and background layers and using foam adhesives, the creator transforms a flat image into a tactile piece of art suitable for cards, gift tags, or box envelopes.
So to get the best results with this kind of technique you want an image that has things
in the foreground and the background. So this one's perfect because you've got the faces down
here which are obviously furthest towards the front and then they slowly all sat behind each
other there. Now mine is very dimensional and yours doesn't have to be this dimensional.
You might just want to have three or four layers so just look at the image that you've got and
just decide, you know, you might want to just cut this one out here and then this one here
and then the main one so you've just got three layers. For me I have one, two, three, four,
five, six, seven, eight and if you include that one, nine layers. Now I have coloured a lot of
the images in even though you're not going to see them. I did that just so I knew what bits
I was cutting out really of each one. I didn't want to confuse myself. So if I just lay the
image down here, starting with the biggest one, if I lay this down over the top you'll see it's
the whole image apart from this one at the top and all of the background bits. I've even left
the scarf on the snowman out there as well. Then the next one after that one it's without these
two and as I drop down each layer it's one less snowman. You'll see now those three but you,
like I said, you might just want to have these three layers and that's enough. You can see
the dimension you've got there. I've already put the foam all behind the back
and then again the next one so now those four are gone and then this one
and then again this little one. So because this one will sit over here you don't need to colour
all of this in but I just did that like I said just so I didn't get myself confused. You might
just want to just maybe or cross over the faces and things. What I would say is if anything on
the outside I would colour because you do see it from the side. So you can see I have got the
hats there coloured in, I've coloured the pot on all of them because you do see the sides of it
but things that are right in the middle there I wouldn't worry about. Then as you get down
to the tiny detail, so if I start layering these all on top of each other like so, I've worked out
when I lay these all down it's looking at just under an inch in diameter so this will go in a
box envelope really nicely and I do have then got a whole playlist of DIY envelopes including box
envelopes but just like this it looks wonderful. This could be a little gift tag on a gift bag,
just a topper you know on a top of the gift box. There's a few ways that you can use this
and then this one and then I've just got the pot and then I've just got the heart.
So I have gone really small but like I said you could miss out all of these and maybe just stop
there and just colour that in red, doesn't have to be dimensional. Then I just went and pulled
out bits from each of the other snowmen so I thought it'd be quite nice to have his hat
with a bit of dimension so I've cut that out and popped some foam on the back
and then the smaller hat there as well. I've cut the hat with the star then I've also just
cut the star to go on again so the smaller the pieces they're the last bits you stick down,
the bigger the image they're the first bits that you lay down and then I cut all the carrot noses
as well and I'm going to layer those back over the top. So this is all going to go onto a five
by seven card blank so I've got the original image here which is what I'm going to lay down
first because that has the very top little snowman there which isn't on any of these images so if I
take this one here and lay that down you can see him there. Now I am going to just colour in that
part of his carrot there because you will see that it's just white if I just look at that there
you can see it's just white which is why I recommend colouring definitely the outside
image. So I've used a, this is like a two mil foam, you might have like a one mil foam obviously
then that will make it less dimensional but just take the backing off this is a piece of four and
three quarter by six and three quarter because I'm going to be sticking it onto the five by seven
card blank so I just want a bit of a border. Before I stick that down let's just colour in
this one here. The colours that I've used are the, or the markers I've used are the tri-blend
spectrum noir and the colours are the burnt orange blend, the gold brown blend so that was for the
basket, the citrus blend which was for the star, the dark red blend, all the red elements and then
the ice grey. The ice grey probably didn't really see it that well but if I bring it up closer you
see all in like where they sit on top of each other I've just added some grey and it just again
just helps soften the white from the cardstock there and then I'm just going to line this up
with the bottom. When you cut these out you want to cut right up to the outline so yeah you will
need to do fussy cutting with this one. I've realised I've just missed a tiny little bit of
the star there. Now another thing before I get too dimensional with this I actually want to stamp
in the set you've got a couple of sentiments and you've got the snowflakes so I think I want to get
those stamped around before I start adding even more dimension. Okay so that is everything stuck
down like I said I told you there was a lot of dimension on this but it just comes just under
one inch. I adore these kind of style cards I think they look really really good. Now there is also a
tiny little red heart in here so I'm going to just attach that because I've stuck everything
down I want to get some of these hearts quite close so I think again just three so probably
have one here one two and then maybe there. I'm going to use the memento because then I can colour them in
with the red and I just think that'd be another nice touch and it just ties in with the little
heart that's on the basket there. So here is the finished card and let's just appreciate that dimension
as I said a few times in the video it's completely optional how dimensional you make this but that is
going to fit perfectly in a box envelope and I think if you add a little bit of acetate onto the
front of the box envelope then you can see this design through I think that would look really nice
as well you can see all that lovely glaze and you could also add some sparkle as well with some
glitter so make sure you subscribe to the channel and that way you won't miss out on all the future
videos that I've got to share and I'll be back again soon. Bye!
